Canny site, chill, drinks at the pub a little spenny but overall sound spot.

Excellent site

We stayed on the Oaks Hot tub pitch for 3 nights, we throughly enjoyed our stay, staff extremely helpful and always made us feel welcome. We enjoyed the dog walks around the grounds and the beautiful views and woodland. The facilities were great too. We would definitely recommend and will visit again. We asked at reception for recommendations for a nice meal we went into Caldbeck to the Oddfellows and this was such a good choice the food was delicious. 👍🏻

Lovely Stay

We stopped on the hot tub tent pitch, which was a lovely change from our usually camping. Our daughter loved watching the horses and playing in the park. The ground and home are rustic and while it could do with an upgrade still had everything we needed.

Fabulous

Really wonderful stay . Helpfull staff . Great bar , playground , football field . Bathrooms were clean and well stocked with loo roll Children loved the hot tub that came with our pitch and the addition of the bbq and furniture made it even better. We felt confident letting our seven year old and nine year old play in the playground without having to constantly watch them as the whole site was very family friendly and safe . Only down side was pizza trailer didn’t show up on the night it was meant to but that is no fault of the site . We will definitely be back . Thank you ☺️

Not perfect but would stay again

We stayed for 2 nights with our 3 kids on an electric tent pitch. We had a really friendly welcome and the host gave us a quick tour of the site, which was a nice touch. The site itself is lovely, quiet and surrounded by countryside and cows. Nothing is really within walking distance, but a short drive took us to a lovely little village with a great walk. The atmosphere on site was great and the kids loved both play areas. Our original pitch was the main disappointment. Despite plenty of space, we were on an end pitch cramped against another large tent and right beside the road. It had a large dip in the middle, was shaded by a tree most of the day and had quite a few cable ties left behind by previous campers. I asked to move to a vacant pitch nearby but was told it was booked for the next day, which was fair enough, although nobody arrived during our stay. The toilets and showers were cleaned daily but are showing their age and could do with some TLC. The washing-up areas, however, were always clean. Was it the best campsite we've stayed at? No. Would we stay again? Absolutely.

Facilities unclean and pitched in a wasp's nest

We were knowingly pitched next to a wasp nest, causing our dog to be stung. Horrendous the next day. The toilet/shower blocks smelt very strongly of sewage outside and none of the showers drained properly causing water to fill up with a pool of other people's hair. They were also pretty unclean.

Amazing!

Would definitely stay here again. Friendly staff, lovely location and great facilities for keeping children occupied; our daughter loved it, especially the wood fired pizza van and the goats.

Fantastic site. great facilities. Plenty of choice. And able to get a nice pint.

Great stay with the kids

We have just returned from a weekend camping with our boys, we had an amazing stay, well kept grounds, toilets and showers clean and plenty to do for the kids. The sunrise on a morning from our pitch was superb.

Never again

After booking last minute getaway, was really looking forward to our little family weekend, must say, very expensive for 2 nights. Where do I start? Well, I'll go with the positive first. Site owner very friendly, helped us to our pitch, have to say, very impressed. Pop up bar was really good and pizza van amazing, well worth the 1 hour wait as very busy. Moving on to the negative. Toilet and shower block had no running water both mornings due to site being so busy and was told pump keeps tripping as can't handle the extra needed to keep up with demand, though this was really poor and was a luxury we had paid for and can't use. Second, was too over crowded, lots of dogs and very irresponsible dog owners. I have too dogs myself and was well behaved. This site was like a cheap Haven site without the entertainment. Would not be returning and defo not recommending. Don't normally do reviews but this defo needed one leaving.

Brilliant family stay

Great staff from the moment arrived, also organising laser tag. Site extremely clean and well run with plenty of shower and toilet access. The barn /pub is beautiful as well. We will be back again at some point

beautiful campsite

when we arrived the owner was very welcoming, showed us to where our pitch was, fire pit and logs was already there for us, showers and toilets are very clean. shop and café, activities for kids to enjoy, would recommend to families with children as they is lots to do as well as a park on site

Lots to do

Lovely setting, loads to do including some great things laid on in the barn. Owners and staff really welcoming and very approachable. Just a shame that the showers didn't cut it. Water can go off part way through. Apparently, there's a pump around the back as they can have trouble pulling the water through but that's not much help when you're half way through a shower! Happened to both me and my husband. Other than that a lovely site. They coped really well considering it was Storm Dave weekend as well 🫣

Winter camp

We booked 3 nights here to test our new tent in the crazy weather, but only stayed for 2 as the new tent started letting in the rain. The site itself is a lovely place and the 2 bathrooms very clean and have good working showers. The lady who owns the place was really nice and was helpful. I would recommend this site to others.

Great friendly service.

Lovely place to relax

Friendly welcome on arrival. We (2 adults and 1 child) stayed in the oaks, which had a hot tub with our camping plot. It was very quiet due to time of year, which was great. We loved messing around on the crazy golf. We didn't get a chance to visit the bar, due to staffing issues, but not a problem.

Lovey peaceful site

We loved the site. Such a lovely peaceful setting. Facilities were nice and clean although a little dated in some areas. We loved the crazy golf and the on site food vans that visited. Great location to travel into Keswick and surrounding areas. Would have been handy to have an extra chemical toilet emptying area closer to our pitch. We had to drive to empty it as it's too heavy to carry from one side of the campsite to the other. And also would be handy to have an area to be able to empty the grey water tank for motorhomes.

Great stay, wish it could have been longer

Lovely location within easy reach of Lake District. Great farm setting with good facilities. Waffle van on site while we were there was excellent and really good value for money. Nice woodland walks. Would definitely recommend and re-visit.

Wouldn't go again.

Very run down. Showers and toilets were covered in black mould, definitely not cleaned 3-4 times a day as stated on email. Fridge and freezer was filthy. Playground areas are ok but the one near the playing field needs some serious TLC as the swings have protruding screws/nails. Staff were helpful and polite and the pitch was good.

Very good campsite. Family and dog friendly.

Hot tub camping

We camped on one of the hot tub hardstanding pitches. The pitch itself was very nice, private and well equipped with BBQ, table and chairs. The tent was slightly harder to pitch, due to the pitch being hardstanding, but manageable. The site is set within the grounds of an old country house. It has plenty of space, but the gardens are a little overgrown and some of the facilities such as the crazy golf could do with up an upgrade. The bathrooms on the campsite did not appear to be cleaned very often and did not have hooks to hang towels/mirrors. We enjoyed our stay, but feel some simple upgrades/changes could help to make the stay better.

Lovely night away

Never been before but we had a lovely time. The site is well maintained, toilets are great. We went to the family quiz, had ice creams from the shake and waffle van and drinks from the bar. Kids loved the playgrounds. There was quite a bit of noise from our neighbours but someone from the site came and spoke to them and by 11:30pm it was all quiet. Would definitely come again.
