Great place with only one downside Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Meadow Field) Jun 2023 We stayed here a few weeks ago, it was an absolutely lovely site and perfect location.
The site was very well maintained and a lovely shower in the main block too. We also had the field to ourselves for a few hours then one other party pitched up but very nice and tranquil.
The only downside was the porta loos in the field we were staying, good idea but very unclean and no loo roll. These ideally need to be cleaned daily.
Other than that, we will be returning :)
Good quiet site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 Good size pitches in lovely wooded area.
You will need levelling ramps as it is a bit of a slope.
Good clean facilities and a friendly welcome too.
Lovely, quiet site surrounded by woods Recommends site
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 Quiet and peaceful site. Excellent facilities, including a really useful fridge. Fast Wi-Fi is an inexpensive added cost. Nice walks through the surrounding woods. Fully recommend.
Lovely site with woodland and fishing on site Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Touring Pitches May 2023 The caravan pitch was nice and level, and quick to set up with electric hook up with water tap behind.
The facilities are great with nice showers, a laundry and shop on site selling essentials.
I travelled with my two boys 12 and 15 and they were delighted there was fast WiFi on site so they could enjoy their PS5s when we weren't off doing something else.
Our two spaniels loved the woodland and lakes and the site is perfect for chilling out.
There are two fishing lakes, a smaller one at the top which is well stocked and perfect for pole fishing, if you use sweetcorn you can catch fish all day long. The roach are quick and greedy and a couple took a bit of disgorging, but my younger lad loved fishing this lake. There are also carp in the upper lake.
The lower lake is about 20 metres lower down the site and is bigger and again well stocked with carp, roach and other fish. This was a delight to fish with shaded swims.
If you don't fish just take a chair, good book and enjoy the tranquility with a chilled cider and nice G&T.
Within 20 minutes are the towns of Wellington and Taunton with all the supermarkets including Lidl. There's a Waitrose too.
We loved the site and six nights flew by. We mainly just chilled out fishing, gaming and walking the dogs.
Exmouth and Sidmouth are about an hour away, but we weren't fussed about visiting
Trull Waterfall is ten minutes away, with a nice area for dogs and children to explore.
Looking forward to coming again.
