About the site
Nestled in 14 acres of picturesque countryside, this multi-award-winning caravan and camping site in Suffolk boasts excellent facilities. With just a short five minute distance to the nearest beach, you can enjoy the best of both worlds - a peaceful retreat in nature with easy access to the coast.
Pitches here are generous and level, catering for motorhomes, caravans, campervans and tents. As well as fully serviced hardstanding pitches, there are also large grass pitches with or without electricity. Some pitches onsite even have a view of a lovely pond.
Managers Dan and Georgina and their team will welcome you onsite, show you around and take you down to your pitch. They will be available all through your stay, giving the site a very friendly and relaxed feel.
Dogs are very welcome and will enjoy the large grazing meadow that has been made available for them to exercise off the lead. They may also enjoy the rest of the park on a lead.
There is a heavy emphasis on being environmentally friendly here, which is evident in the biomass boiler that provides underfloor heating and constant hot water, and also in the gold awards from David Bellamy that praise the tremendous wildlife present on the park and the green manner in which the site is run.

This is the 2nd time we stayed at Haw Wood, upgraded this year to an electric pitch. It's such a lovely peaceful location. Bathrooms, showers and washroom facilities are so well maintained. The little on-site store provides all the basic bits & bobs you forget to bring. Really nice coffee. This year we discovered and explored the enclosed dog-walking field, which is perfect. There's also a beautiful woodland walk along the side of the field/campsite, which takes you (eventually) onto the road, from whence you can carry on for another half a kilometre and reach Two Magpies Bakery, just in time for breakfast.
The camp-site is perfectly centrally located to reach several of nearby towns, villages and beaches, like: Dunwich, Southwold, Halesworth, Saxmundam, and many more.
In the morning - you can hear the dawn chorus, at night owls and foxes. If you want to escape to the wild for a while, this is the place.

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesApr 2025
We really enjoyed our stay at this excellent site.
There were lots of places to visit within a reasonable distance, but it was not on a bus route. The site was immaculate - incredibly well tended. The pitches, especially the standard ones, were a very good size. It was slightly disappointing that we were unable to choose our own pitch.
The staff were very welcoming. The shop was only open at specific hours, but we visited in low season, so that was no problem. Toilets/showers were spotless. The nearby firing range was particularly busy on one day, and that became quite disturbing after a while.
Amazing
