Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2025 Can't really moan about anything, quiet site with a couple country roads either side, barely notice the occasional car.
The owner/manager (I assume) spent most their time in a tent by the car park, she was absolutely sound and has a few tables set up where you can buy/hire surplus stuff like BBQ, pans, gas cans, wood - great! Turns out I didn't have enough pegs and she pointed me out some decent ones for soft ground and charged next to nothing.
Overall, if you are looking for a field to put your tent up, have a BBQ or fire, have a few drinks and a laugh, you cannot go wrong with this place.

Perfect in every way
Small Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2025 I wanted somewhere quite with basic but clean and accessible facilities where I could pitch my tent and relax. Yew Tree Farm ticked every box with a number of added bonuses.
Arrival time restrictions - none, turn up and pitch your tent. Departure day time restrictions - none, pack up and go when you are ready to leave. Pitch allocation - wherever takes your fancy.
Alicia, the owner, smiley, approachable and responded to questions either face to face at her gate or via text immediately. The toilet block was clean and stocked daily with toilet rolls, hand soap and paper towels.
The washing up area outside the toilet block was also clean with washing up liquid provided, hot water and cold drinking water. You are unable to take your vehicle on to the field so if you haven't got a transport barrow then wheel barrows are available to use free of charge, leaning against a wall. There are no lights in the field at night which means a torch is essential but this way, there's no light pollution when looking up at the stars and means the tent is dark at night.
It's a very quiet area and I fell sleep to the noises of the countryside, one night in particular to a couple of owls twit-twooing.
There's a nice pub called the Greyhound about a 12-15 minute walk away, a convenience store a 2 minute drive down the road and Matlock is a 20 minute drive away if you wanted to visit. For me this was just a relaxing do nothing weekend of back to basics camping and for that Yew Tree was the perfect spot.
I have already recommended it to friends and I will definitely be returning, especially to venture out more. Very happy camper. Thank you, Alicia.
Great Camping Site
Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2025 2nd time at this camp site. Good combination of outdoor feel with available facilities (toilets, shower and sinks). Perfect location, will go again.
Perfect, private and accomodating
Large Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2025 Great for kids to play in, but not kid centric. Enclosed, so safe and the best bit is the site being full up with less than a dozen pitches. Plenty of space so you aren't tripping over guy ropes to find your way back.
It felt secluded..nice tent shop for wood sacks and burners for hire. They were very kind and accommodating.
Relaxing and quiet
Small Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2025 Second time at Yew Tree and it wont be my last. Hassle free on arrival, nice flat field, good facilities and outdoor covered sinks for pot washing etc.
Plenty of space between pitches and no vehicles allowed on the camping field. Lovely.

Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2025 Excellent campsite, no issues. Toilet block is a bit run down, could do with a lick of paint. Lots of mould. But, more than sufficient for a budget campsite.

Great quiet site
Small Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2025 Back to basics campsite. We liked it as it was nice and quiet, but a few minutes drive away from the shops/pubs etc. Maximum number of tents allowed is 10 so meant everyone can spread out to pitch up.
It's a field but the adjoining fields meant it was nice and quiet. There is the one lovely hot shower, 2 toilets and 2 sinks in the ladies. There is an undercover dishwashing area too with wash up liquid. All clean.
It was nice as we just wanted to relax after having done the limestone way. We went for a couple of short walks there too which were nice. Owner was really nice. Great that you can come and leave anytime.
We would come back, it was great to be in such a quiet site.
Peaceful camping

Not too huge a site so it's easy to walk to the toilets in the middle of the night.
Clean facilities and friendly staff. Also lots of doggies and kitties on site!!
Good quiet campsite

Weekend camp

Pitch was really large and ample space between pitches. Shower had hot water and pot washing was kept clean and tidy.

Lovely
Small Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2025 Very quiet site, nice and flat. Good distance between each unit. The hostess was charming and friendly. Parking was a lite awkward but managed it. Great idea to have no vehicles on the site.
Nice that washing up liquid and soap was provided. Shower was lovely. Will stay again, no problem.
Yew Tree Farm
Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2025 I have been to Yew Tree Farm on multiple occasion, both my with partner and a group of friends and both times have been excellent.
Lots of space for tents and amazing utility rooms - would recommend this location to anyone.
Beautifully basic
Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches May 2025 It was a very basic field with a shower/toilet block. We did not use the shower, but we used the toilets and sinks which were very clean and well maintained.
The bins near the shower block were over flowing since we arrived. The car park is small and the not always easy to find a space.
We used the site as a place to sleep as the site is perfectly situated close to lots of interesting places. We visited Heights of Abraham, Gulliver's Kingdom and Crich, all were within 30 minute drive.
There is also a small play area down the lane from the campsite and Alfreton is a few minutes drive and has a large Tesco.

Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches May 2025 Had a lovely couple of days at Yew Tree Farm. I took my son and his friend so the fact that no cars were allowed on the field meant I knew they were safe from traffic. The views were beautiful...it was easy to get to as it was close to the main roads but down a little lane and you felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. The park across the road was a huge hit. The facilities were basic but did the job and for what we paid, it felt like good value for money. A very relaxed vibe to the site with no check in or check out times which I really appreciated! We had a lovely time and will no doubt be back!
Absolutely perfect
Medium Tent - Grass Tent Pitches May 2025 Just had a magical 2 nights at Yew Tree Farm.
The site is so peaceful and set in beautiful surroundings, with lovely walks. Being able to have a campfire is a real treat. The facilities are clean and the hosts are lovely.
We're already talking about our next visit 😊

Great the field area is free from motor vehicles. Making it safe for kids to run around. Facilities are good yet basic, and are clean.

The hosts were lovely, toilets/showers clean all the time and always fully stocked with toilet roll.
Washing equipment all supplied, close to shop and parks and lovely walks near by.
