Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Top Field)Aug 2025

Good location and facilities. Close access to Manifold track and Thor's Cave. Pub next to site serves meals and breakfast. Hartington village only a mile away with pubs and Indian take away. Only downside was busy road on hillside so noisy lorries, also campsite is under a flight path and planes can be noisy.

Stunning views and excellent facilities

Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Top Field)Aug 2025

We will definitely return to this excellent campsite. So nice to have the shop on site and a lovely pub right outside the gates. There is also a café just down the road at Hulme end station centre selling good coffee and cakes. Shower block was modern and very clean. We did not have good weather and it was cold for August so it was great to use our firepit in the evenings You can buy the logs at the shop and hire a fire pit. We enjoyed walking up and down the bank but would not suit everyone. Only downside for us was our pitch by the road, which was quite busy. Great holiday and value for money, loads to do in surrounding area.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches (Awnings Permitted)Aug 2025

Unfortunately, we were only able to stay for one night. By the time we got there, it was around 3pm but we didn't actually need to leave the campsite. Motorhome was by the river, we bought a ball and two fishing nets from the on site shop to keep the boys entertained. They loved catching tiddlers in the manifold river and then went running around the huge field and hill (for dogs too). So, they had plenty of to keep them going the time we were there. I'd like to return to walk to Thor's Cave from the site, about an hour and half apparently. Lots of ducks waddling around looking for crumbs. It's a very nice place with the pub across the road from the entrance. I'd recommend this place.

Clean, convenient and fun

Friendly staff, clean facilities which are well maintained. Meadow field over the road is a 2/3 minute walk where we stayed in a tent. Amazing location close to many hike trails around. Had a great time

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches (Awnings Permitted)Aug 2025

Lovely site, facilities were excellent, clean, plenty of availability. It was a lovely, calm site, not too crowded, and I was able to paddle in the river as it was a very hot day. The pub over the road was a bonus, and little shop on site for anything I needed. Felt very safe for a lone female visitor.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Top Field)Aug 2025

I stayed for a Sunday night in a VW camper van. The campsite is spread over a few fields at different levels. I stayed in the Event top field which was the highest point on the site. Surrounded by stone walls and green rolling hills. Lovely view from the pitch and quiet. The toilets etc are located by main reception a couple of minutes walk away. The facilities were very clean and well maintained. It shows the owners take pride in their site. There is a small shop in the check in building. Fire pits and wood can be purchased and many were used at nighttime. Across the road is an amazing country pub in local stone. It has a great selection or food and drinks. Could not fault the site and will be definitely back again soon.

Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Top Field)Aug 2025

Lovely family campsite in a stunning location. The staff are friendly and welcoming and set high expectations. Conveniently located next to the Manifold track and a short drive from the Tissington trail, this site is perfect for walkers, runners and cyclists. The site itself has a peaceful atmosphere and the food van that sells pizzas on a Saturday is fabulous. The facilities are clean and even though the site was busy it never felt too busy. The only slight downside is it is next to a road and traffic is next to the fields and is noisy. Despite that we will return.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches (No Awnings)Aug 2025

Excellent campsite with great walking in the area! Spectacular scenery and views! Around 1.5 miles to the lovely and bustling village of Hartington! Campsite was very busy but it was an August weekend! Family and dog friendly site with really good facilities which were kept very clean! Small well stocked shop! Friendly and helpful hosts and grounds were also very well maintained! Pizza truck on site while we were there which we took advantage of and the pizzas were excellent and reasonably priced! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Would stay again!

Beautiful site and facilities. Very helpful and lovely owner Trish. We stayed in the meadow field which is separate to the main site and it was so nice, right next to the river and very peaceful. There was plenty of room too but we did stay on a weekday. The pub over the road is wonderful as well!

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitch With GardenAug 2025

A great campsite the location was good for touring around and sightseeing close to Buxton and Bakewell. The only downside is the showers. 5/6 showers to 2 very large fields if late the showers are cold - lukewarm but it didn't ruin our stay. Steve and Claire.

Site's response

Many thanks for your review Steve, Good to read you enjoyed your stay, sorry you experienced lukewarm showers, we have instant hot water boilers so should have been hot all the times, not normally a problem. Kind Regards Wayne and the Team
