Dissapointed
Twin Axle Caravan - Large Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesJun 2023The site was superbly clean and tidy but with a lack of reception, shop or even local information. Situated in a stunning area it is such a shame that the 11 pitches are situated around a tarmac area with tall trees/ hedges behind each pitch. The road directly behind the site is also very noisy. We headed home after 4 nights despite being booked being booked for 7. Disappointing.
Site's response
Thank you for your review, I am glad you like the cleanliness of the site.
With just 11 touring pitches and being 3 miles from Buxton, where there is a wealth of shops from outdoor shops to 24hr convenience and even a superb caravan parts and repair business, I'm not sure a shop would be beneficial to either party, or necessary. We don't have a reception as we run the farm alongside the park as well as having a young family so we can't guarantee being on site for your arrival. This is why we send all important information to you by email, which includes our direct contact information. There is however a maintenance person on site every morning weekdays and I am based in the office, on site, most weekdays, should you need to speak to someone. We have a wealth of local information in the facilities lounge and there were at least 2 information books there during your stay, you may have noticed that the information wall is currently being expanded with local walks from the doorstep.
We have very clear pictures of the site and the pitches on our listing on Campsites. They show the pitches are 'all weather' and the trees provide a wind break, as the Peak District can be rather wet and windy at times, the wild birds like the gardens too. We do have an open field at the entrance to the facilities with amazing views which is available for your leisure. The road can be busy at times but it does quieten in the evening. It provides very easy access to caravans and large motorhomes.
Sorry you felt disappointed by you trip but hopefully I have cleared up a few of the issues.
Best wishes, Rebecca
