Great location Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Sep 2025 Very friendly and helpful reception, site empty at end of season so allowed us to swap pitches. Ate in the bar on first night, food good and pleasant, clean environment
The male showers were functional, but very worn, with many broken doors and it wasn't clear if they had been cleaned. Again, I guess it was end of season, so may explain wear and tear. The other toilets appeared cleaner.
The shop appeared to be well stocked and there were a number of takeaways, as well as a main entertainment complex.
Absolutely fantastic location, 5 minute walk from Croyde Bay beach. I would expect it to be heaving in the summer, but in autumn it was fine.
Really nice campsite Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches (Croyde Burrows) Sep 2025 I was a bit dubious about booking into what looks like a large holiday park complex - especially as I was in a small VW campervan and wasn't really interested in all the facilities... but it was the end of the season. All of the small pop-up campsites were closed, and I didn't fancy getting stuck in a muddy field if the rain came.Plus the idea of electric hook-up was quite appealing after a week or so on the road!
Firstly, the campervan/caravan 'touring' part of the site (Croyde Burrows) is across the road from the main holiday park, so it doesn't feel like you're in the thick of all the touristy bit.
Secondly, it is really close to the beach.
Thirdly, the loos and showers are spotlessly clean.
Fourthly, fifthly, etc etc, the pitches are a decent size, there's plenty of drinking water taps, the grey water and elson point are clean, there's outside showers for wetsuits, and if the whole holiday park is actually your scene, it is just across the road.
I'm really happy I stayed there. In fact I booked an extra night. And if it weren't for the coming of Storm Amy, I'd have stayed longer.
I'd certainly go back. Well done Croyde Burrows and Ruda Park, you changed my mind and I'm so glad I stayed with you :)
Stay at Ruda holiday park Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches (Croyde Burrows) Sep 2025 We loved our stay at Ruda holiday park the location is great as a short walk to the beach and into the village for shops, pubs & restaurants.
The facilities were nice and a lot of them so you was never having to wait to use them.
And the onsite facilities were handy for when the weather was not great to do anything outsider.
We went in school time so it was not to busy.
Birthday weekend - bodyboarding and camping Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Sep 2025 We stayed for my birthday to get in some bodyboarding. The arrival was not what we expected, having said we would be arriving late approx 8:30pm, reception was closed and we drove round the site before having to phone to find out what to do.
Eventually found security guards in the arcade who checked us in and gave us a map of the grounds. The location to the beach is amazing and all of the facilities were excellent, toilets, warm showers, hairdryers and outdoor wetsuit showers too.
Unfortunately due to a massive storm that blew our tents down, we could only stay for the one night. Again, we did go to reception to inform them we were leaving, but it was closed at about 5:30pm.
We would stay here again and recommend to others, but we feel that reception needs to be more regularly available.
First camping trip Recommends site
Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2025 This was my first ever camping trip with my two young boys (age 11 and 9) for 3 nights.
Location - excellent, right next to Croyde Bay beach literally 2-3 minutes walk and then a short 10 minute walk into Croyde (we visiting The Thatch pub a couple of times and a nice, pleasurable stroll)
Value for money - pretty good, we used the swimming pool (The Cascade) a couple of times and also visited the entertainment one evening, which had various acts on - quite enjoyable)
Standard of service - overall was good, a very few interactions with staff members but what I experienced was acceptable. Nothing above and beyond just standard service. One of the swimming team on reception was hard work to talk to but nothing too bad.
Facilities - very good, shop and food outlets looked good and as I said entertainment was enjoyable.
Cleanliness - I'm afraid this was the worst part. The showers and toilets were borderline unacceptable. Tiles falling off walls, dirty showers and toilets that didn't flush. I didn't see one cleaner throughout my whole time and given the volume of people that use the facilities, there should've been more done to keep them clean. A real shame, the showers need a desperate refurb, as do the toilets. Really disappointing and I didn't look forward to my daily routine at all.
Location amazing, toilet block Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2025 Location is fantastic, close to beach, you can see the sea and hear the waves at night, which I liked.
The pitch is okay, I had a 15m cable and was plenty, might have got away with smaller but doubt it. The tents are crammed into the field, Enough space for tent and car but that's it, you are right on top each other. The shop is okay, reasonable selection of stuff at premium prices. Chippy was awful so didn't try the pizza or fried chicken. The shower block, 30 years old, well worn and didn't seem to be cleaned often enough, clue being running out of toilet roll. I would recommend sliders for the shower.
The village is nice and also close. Wouldn't book again because of the showers.
Gutted to be leaving! Found our happy place! Recommends site
