Stunning, peaceful stay

Firstly, the campsite is absolutely stunning and so peaceful. The parking is right next to the field, so not a long walk. The pitches were well sized and the shepherd's hut felt very private. The shepherd's hut is beautiful - inside and out. It was spotlessly clean and felt like home as soon as I arrived. The bed was comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. The toilets and shower were very clean. The shower ran a little hot and cold (hence the four for facilities), but it wasn't too much of a problem. The location is excellent - very easy to find and the well located to explore the beautiful area. Overall, I had an amazing stay and will definitely return. Either to the shepherd's hut or the campsite.

Idyllic, peaceful location. The Shepherd’s Hut was beautifully decorated and had everything that was needed. The kitchen, toilet and toilet were very good. The whole experience was excellent

The location was stunning with far reaching views across the Devon hills. We were on a cycling holiday and the Shepherd’s Hut provided us with some understated luxury and abundant peace and quiet. The site owner was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this lovely site to my friends and family.

Lovely remote campsite

This was a great find. Grass/flower meadows with mown pitches and paths. Lots of room between pitches. Taking you close to nature. Limited natural shade though. Very safe as no cars in field and no dogs. The toilets were basic but clean and worked well. Drinking water and somewhere to wash up but no hot water at sink. Enjoyed a nice circular walk through the fields and wood. Looking forward to coming back.

Wild and amazing

Incredible camping. Very simple, a few pitches in a field, with 2 toilets and a shower. No electricity, no noises (except the cute sheep flock), just us and nature. Keep in mind it can be pretty cold at night as it's literally in the middle of the field (we were not ready for this 😆). We will be back!

Beautiful natural wildflower meadow camping

Beautiful campsite, with generous space to camp among wildflower meadows. Eco facilities are basic but spotlessly clean.

Amazing!

Beautiful site, lovely and peaceful. The owners go above and beyond for their guests. Couldn't have asked for more (perhaps less rain ;-) ). Can't wait to come back next year!

Such a special place!

Absolutely idyllic! Felt like a hidden utopia featuring wildflowers and wildlife galore. Everything was very clean and thoughtful and simple. Huge wheelbarrows are provided to make carting everything from the car very easy. The beautiful fire pits are a really special touch. We didn't want to leave and we will definitely be back.

Wonderful spot

Wonderful spot in the meadows of Devon. Peaceful and plenty of room for kids to run around. Very affordable. Basic facilities but that's all we need and everything was perfect. Thanks so much. I'm sure we'll be back!

Proper camping, don't tell anyone!

By far, this is the best campsite we have stayed in in either the UK or Ireland. It is quiet and peaceful and there is beautiful nature all around. The facilities are simple, well-designed, and looked after extremely well. It was a really peaceful and lovely break for us to just be in a natural field with the birds and insects. The location is excellent for delving into the North Devon Coast and Exmoor. next time, we will spend much longer.

Peaceful & beautiful

We stayed for one night before going to Lundy island, 2 friends with a small tent each that easily fitted in one pitch. This was a perfect site for us. It was blissfully peaceful with beautiful views & large well managed pitches. If you're after a deliciously calm site that has obvious ecological & sustainability values, then you will be happy at this lovely site. Loved the fact that fire pits were provided & logs available to purchase. Such a lovely atmosphere & made to feel very welcome by the owners. We will be back. Thank you!
