Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesMay 2023

The caravan pitch was nice and level, and quick to set up with electric hook up with water tap behind. The facilities are great with nice showers, a laundry and shop on site selling essentials. I travelled with my two boys 12 and 15 and they were delighted there was fast WiFi on site so they could enjoy their PS5s when we weren't off doing something else. Our two spaniels loved the woodland and lakes and the site is perfect for chilling out. There are two fishing lakes, a smaller one at the top which is well stocked and perfect for pole fishing, if you use sweetcorn you can catch fish all day long. The roach are quick and greedy and a couple took a bit of disgorging, but my younger lad loved fishing this lake. There are also carp in the upper lake. The lower lake is about 20 metres lower down the site and is bigger and again well stocked with carp, roach and other fish. This was a delight to fish with shaded swims. If you don't fish just take a chair, good book and enjoy the tranquility with a chilled cider and nice G&T. Within 20 minutes are the towns of Wellington and Taunton with all the supermarkets including Lidl. There's a Waitrose too. We loved the site and six nights flew by. We mainly just chilled out fishing, gaming and walking the dogs. Exmouth and Sidmouth are about an hour away, but we weren't fussed about visiting Trull Waterfall is ten minutes away, with a nice area for dogs and children to explore. Looking forward to coming again.

Peaceful stay at Kingsmead

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Touring PitchesApr 2023

Lovely peaceful site. Wonderful walks for our boxer dog. Very helpful when we had a problem with the electrics on the van. Wish we had taken advice on your directions to the site and not listened to the sat nav!!!
