Very friendly welcome, good size level pitches & clean toilet block. 10 minute walk to great pub Dog & Partridge

Short family escape

Very welcoming site and excellent facilities, family loo/changing area was useful, plus a covered washing up area. Showers were great and super views across the peaks.

Lovely stay at Common End Farm

Fantastic camp site for our first family camping trip. The location is perfect being close to Ashbourne and some lovely walks gave us the ideal weekend of exploring. The camp site is set with stunning views and surroundings of the rolling hills. The toilets and showers were exceptionally clean which was really appreciated with 2 young children. The dog walking field and space beyond the 'pretty field' was a great addition and meant it didnt feel too busy at all! We will definately be back!

Family weekend away

Lovely friendly campsite , facilities really clean , staff friendly and helpful . Perfect for family’s . Near to Ashbourne and Dovedale . Will definitely visit again 🤩

Excellent campsite all round

Nice greeting on arrival, giving us general info about the site. Lovely, vibrant campsite. Lots of families as was the summer holidays, so some kids were up at the crack of dawn. Not a problem. Families, groups of friends, just a general mix of people enjoying time together. Considering how busy it was, the facilities were quiet and clean. Got a great view and the location was great. We decided to do Ashbourne Show while we were there, but there are loads of things to do about the area. Saying it was vibrant, everybody kept to the noise curfew at 11 am. Couldn't hear a pin drop! Will defo return.

Perfect base to explore the peak district

A really well run campsite with friendly staff, clean facilities and lovely atmosphere. Great location for visiting Ashbourne, Carsington water, wider Peak District and local attractions. Would highly recommend.

Excellent location for Alton towers

Nice campsite, very flat ground for tents. Showers and toilets very good. Morning cup of tea with cows and very friendly chickens. We stayed to visit Alton Towers its like 5 miles down the road. Would defo stay again.

Pleasant site spoiled by chickens roaming freely

We recently spent a few days here for a family break. While the campsite itself is lovely, well-located, and has clean washroom facilities, our stay was continually dampened by the chickens that roam completely unchecked across the pitch areas. A couple of farm birds wandering around might seem idyllic at first, but the reality is very different. They frequently walked around our pitch, leaving chicken mess across our groundsheet that we had to keep wiping down. The tipping point was when one of the chickens managed to poo directly on top of my daughter's brand-new trainers, really upsetting her and leaving me trying to remove bird faeces from new shoes. It wasn't just us, either. We spoke to our neighbours, who had very young children, and they suffered repeated incidents of chicken faeces around their tent, as well as the birds helping themselves to their food. Having birds wander onto pitches, mess everywhere, and steal food is highly unsanitary, especially with toddlers around. We raised the issue with staff on our first day. Whilst they said they would pass our comments on to the owners, there was no apology given, and they gave the impression that nothing was wrong with what was happening, stating "it's a working farm". The staff are friendly, but if they enclosed the poultry or kept them away from the camping areas, this would be a great site—as it stands, we won't be back.

Thank you for your review following your stay with us. We have just two chickens which roam freely around the camping fields, farm fields, our garden, and the self catering properties. The chickens only hang around for food and if there's nothing there, they move on pretty quickly so it was unfortunate that as you describe, they appear to have spent a lot of time around your tent. I can therefore only suggest that someone was feeding them or leaving food outside the tent and as you say, the pitch next to you did comment that the chickens had taken their food. Whilst most of our campers love having the chickens around, we appreciate they're not to everyone's taste. By free roaming, they live a much nicer life and the eggs are lovely, though it's been too hot for them recently to lay. We are pleased you found the rest of the site to your liking, but the chickens will be staying so perhaps best you don't revisit.

Fab night at a great campsite

We had a great stay at Common End Farm would highly recommend. Friendly welcome and secure facilities.

Fab little site

What a great little site! Very spacious and friendly, the staff that welcomed us were lovely and kindly let have use of a site bbq after the fire pit we brought to cook on couldn’t be used due to the droughts… we found a nest of baby voles in the middle of our pitch, they were willing to move us but we were happy to keep an eye on the voles as Mumma had abandoned them sadly.. it was my sons birthday this weekend so the bag of squishes that we were given went down a treat! Perfect base for our Alton Towers visit, clean and tidy amenities that worked perfectly, ice pack storage and a dog walking field with stunning views! We will absolutely be back! Thank you so much!

Great site spoilt by visitors

Wonderful site with clean and more than adequate facilities. Hosts very welcoming. Would definitely come again. Would only hope that the same family that were very loud until midnight, and then from 4.15am, aren't there at the same time.

Great site

Took my girlfriend for her first camping trip, had a great time, was a lovly site with beautiful views, very clean and the staff were fantastic. Will definitely go back. More often. If it had a playground for the kids which is the only thing I think is missing

Great campsite, great location. What else is there to say. The facilities were great too and are expanding. I felt the owners were really making an effort to give value for money. There was even a dog walking field.

Beautiful quiet site in a great location.

Brilliant campsite in a beautiful location. Loads in the local area to do as a family. The site was brilliant. Really good sized pitches and loads of open/free space. The shower, toilet and washing up facilities were clean and well equipped. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We'll be back.

Great short stay

Great campsite it was good sized pitch, good area, facilities and nice walks

Simple, peaceful and beautiful campsite

There was a big group of us, 5 families all with kids between 4 and 8. It was brilliant. Unfortunately, the weather was miserable but the dry spells, the kids were able to safely run around on the field. We were able to get out to local attractions, supermarket not far away at all, Dog & Partridge pub close too, which was also great.

Alton Towers stay

Went to Alton Towers for a couple of days and stayed here one night with our kids (1 and 7). Wonderful, warm welcome, some of the nicest facilities we have seen at a campsite. The only niggle we had were there were a few bigger groups who were a bit noisy later in the evening (talking loudly) but not the campsite's fault. Would stay again.

Lovely location, friendly site

Great spot just outside of Leek (which has shops and pubs). Easy to find and check in. Friendly welcome. All the clean facilities needed. Spacious pitches, great views!

Lovely camp site in good location.!

Lovely campsite and well organised! Massive dog walking field and quiet past 11pm.

staff very friendly.couldnt do enough for you very big pitches. ice pack facilities very helpful as had a no ecu. showers warm. only one piece feedback is toilet cleaning for men's was 1115- 1145. not best timing when checkout 12. went over at 1150 and was closed.. I would suggest to change cleaning to just after 12.
