Excellent campsite young man very helpful . The views were fantastic of the sea and the headland from our pitch . Pitch spacious enough and flat . They have a small shop but if you need things you have forgotten you need to drive into ilfracombe itself . The sawmill bar and restaurant was also fantastic a 15 minute walk away .

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding and Grass PitchesAug 2026

Overall, a great site. Basic but clean. Peaceful picturesque views across to Wales. Short bus ride to either way to a village with beaches. The harbour was a 5 minute walk. Coastal walks, be prepared for a few steep climbs.

A great little campsite with beautiful views out over the sea.

A great little campsite with beautiful views out over the sea. Easy access by vehicle to Ilfracombe (10 minutes). Toilet blocks were clean and fit for purpose. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall, we had a lovely stay.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesJul 2026

We were looking forward to this site, having read the reviews. Multi tiered site, which we knew, some tiers had great views, which is the campsite's main draw, other tiers had less good views. A fairly steep walk from the top tier to the facilities. We have found this with a couple of sites, the prices have increased substantially since Covid, but facilities are stuck in the 1970s and are very basic. Yes, you have a hot shower but force was low. Yes, you have loos but for the money, the facilities should be moving with the times. Would we return? No.

Site's response

Sorry that you found some of the tiers had not such a good view, I hope that you found the tier that you were on did have a good view. All pitches have a view of the sea as we are a tiered site, hence the incline to top pitches (which have the best views). With regard to the facilities - the reviews we receive always commend us on our shower block. We do advertise as a small, uncommercial site, and being on a hill in a rural location does mean the water pressure is low. We built the shower block 20 years ago and try to keep an environmentally low impact in any building or facilities that we use. Price wise - small businesses are up against it. We are a six monthly business who actually only take money in 6 weeks of the year. I did not receive a grant during covid. Since Covid our site insurance has risen, our fire assessments have risen, our waste collection has risen, our business rates have risen, our water rates have risen, our electric bills have quadrupled, and we have raised our prices by £5 over 6 years to keep it accessible. I am not sure that I can remain in business in the current climate. I would suggest that you choose a commercial site which will provide centrally heated power showers on flat, structured layouts. I am a tad disappointed too.

Great site

Site views were spectacular. Site very clean. The only problem was the shower block. Very little water pressure but more concerned that it was very dark in the block and sometimes, the lights in the evening didn't come on until it was quite dark. Quite dangerous for older people and children.

Site's response

Thank you for your kind words about the site. At this time of year, with the very light evenings, the light sensors don't trigger until it is dark. I will have a look at the sensor. I am sorry you found it dangerous - I have not had any comment on this before, but will maybe suggest to people to take their camping torches to the shower block at night.

Quiet, friendly hillside overlooking the sea

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding and Grass PitchesJul 2026

The site was quiet and made up of a number of level pitches on a hillside overlooking the sea. It had everything we needed; hook up, water, waste disposal, dish washing, showers, toilets, small shop with locally sourced produce. Motorhome showers can be a little cramped, but the spacious and hot showers were very welcome.

Small, lovely, friendly site

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding and Grass PitchesJul 2026

The site itself is situated in a beautiful spot with the best views you could wish for. The site is nicely spaced so your not on top of each other. The only thing let it down was the facilities, the showers were very intermittent temperature. One minute ok and then too hot to stand under. The facilities were cleaned regularly but the ceiling was full of cobwebs, its quite high up so not accessible easily so that's perhaps why. Can't fault the site and booking system was easy. Owners very informative on places to visit, walks etc which was brilliant. Good value for money and would definitely stay again

Site's response

Thank you for your lovely review, and glad that you enjoyed the site. We do have very low water pressure. As we are sited on top of a hill and a mile from where the mains water reaches the farm, it is hard for the water company to provide us with the water pressure that more urban areas are used to. We have requested help on pressure for the last few years but it is out of our hands. There is a temperature sensor on the showers, which is set, but in very hot weather it can feel warmer. If you come again and have any issue with temperature please come and let us know as we can do something immediately. With regards to spiders up in the ceiling - the rafters are very high in the shower block and I have to put up a scaffolding tower to be able to reach these safely, so this is done at the beginning and middle of the season to ensure everybody's safety. We are a rural site and try to be as low impact as possible on the environment, so hope the spiders didn't upset your stay too much. If you come again, I can show you the difference between a male and a female spider and it makes watching them really very interesting.

Excellent site

Single Axle Caravan - Large Electric Grass PitchesJul 2026

Perfect, little, private site. Views over the harbour were breath-taking. Amazing walks from the site. No need to drive out if you didn't want to. Small shower block and toilet facilities. But, no issues, never had to wait. Would just advise you enter the site from Ilfracombe not Combe Martin as you will need to pass the site and find a turnaround spot if you have a large camper or caravan.

Lovely stay

Single Axle Caravan - Large Electric Grass PitchesJun 2026

Fantastic site and amazing location. Nicely kept site, but could just do with a little more water pressure on the showers... washing your hair with literally a dribble of water is never great 🤣🤣. Otherwise we loved it. Especially the fresh croissants & pain au chocolate at the shop each morning. Just a lovely added touch. We will be back.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2026

The best thing about this site was the views, Which were absolutely stunning. The facilities were clean and the pitch size was perfect. It had a perfect little shop where you could get a well deserved Ice cream after a long day of beautiful coastal walking..... We had a perfect 4 night stay.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding and Grass PitchesJun 2026

Our first ever trip in our newly acquired Motorhome and Linda was a delight! We met some really lovely people and the views! Wow, amazing walk along the South West Coastal Path to Ilfracombe! The cake at the Storm in a Teacup cafe was as Linda promised! Wonderful We did not get to eat at The Saw but our neighbours did and they give it a great rating! So pleased we picked this as our first every trip in our motorhome and it has set the bar high!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJun 2026

A wonderful spot in Devon, great place to explore from with wonderful views. Just be warned when you're first driving there, the entrance can be a little hidden and if you come from Combe Martin, it's a sharp turn.

We come back every year

Small Tent - Large Electric Grass PitchesJun 2026

Amazing views, amenities, pitches - my only critique is the showers, the water pressure is akin to being rained on.

Site's response

Thank you for your lovely words about Little Meadow but sorry you found the showers not powerful enough. Due to the nature of the site - in a very rural location, on top of a hill and at the very end of the mains water system in the area we do struggle with water pressure at peak times. We try to limit the impact that our campsite has on the incredible environment that we share here with you all and hope that on your return to civilisation you could enjoy a power shower but remember the views here :-)

Windy stay!

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2026

A large electric pitch is not really very large. We weren't allowed to use our gazebo so couldn't cook because it was terrible weather. Toilets and showers were very clean and the view was absolutely beautiful, but wouldn't return sadly.

Site's response

Sorry that the weather was not good during your stay. I checked the booking and you had booked a grass electric pitch, not a large electric grass pitch, which would explain maybe why you felt it was not spacious. Although, it was still a 10m pitch length. I'm not sure why you weren't able to use your gazebo as I do allow them, I just advise against it in windy weather as the wind tends to damage them or blow away. I would love to welcome you back and hope that my responses helps.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2026

Quiet, peaceful site with wonderful sea views. We were on pitch 38 at the top and the grass was very long, so the dog became very wet in the morning dew. A bit expensive for the facilities available.

Site's response

Very pleased you enjoyed the site and its wonderful sea views but sorry to hear that your dog got wet in the morning dew. Little Meadow is a traditional, small, uncommercial site and we try to mow as little as possible from an environmental angle. Little Meadow is situated on organic farmland and while we can't be part of the no mow May, we do try to reduce our impact on the environment as much as we can. It is crazy grass growing season at the moment and this combined with the health and safety aspect of mowing when the campsite plateaux have people staying on them means that mowing had to wait until after the half term period. I totally get that having a wet dog in your tent is not easy! Pricewise when we benchmark with other similar sites, Little Meadow comes out just below the average price and I think you will agree that the view from your pitch was spectacular and hard to put a price on.

Lovely stay!

We had a lovely time away at this campsite. The lady who welcomed us was very friendly and helpful and the little on-site shop was quite convenient for wood and necessities! Very clean and nice basic facilities with a stunning view of the sea.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2026

This was a fantastic campsite with the most beautiful views. The location is excellent with loads to do, including beaches, walking the coast past, the castle etc. The campsite itself was perfect. The owner was lovely, the shop was useful (especially the preorder rolls and pastries for breakfast) and the campsite was very clean. I especially liked the attention to detail with extra large pitches, netting in the showers to store clothes and benches to watch the sunset. I can't reccomend it enough and will definitely be returning.

Very nice site

Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2026

First time visiting the site with our children & friends. We were a little disappointed when we arrived that we were not in the same field as them but we did manage to get on the level above. The site is in tiers. Unfortunately, we had some neighbours who did not like children & continued to moan every time a football went near their tent & a member of their party was using the bush as a toilet in front of my daughter, which did spoil things a little. The site is in a lovely position with lovely views. The toilets were very clean & the shop in site has enough essentials. It was a quiet site, more catered towards couples or older people rather than families. It is very close to the castle which is great for the kids, and adults & close to pubs.

What a great site

Beautiful spot with sea views, a proper hidden gem of a campsite with great facilities and friendly staff. We took our VW T2 here on its first adventure and it was incredible. We will be back :)
