Clear filters Fab site, great location, sadly terrible weather!
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2025 Sykeside Camping Park, was perfect for what we needed and wanted. It has a well stocked shop, friendly and helpful staff. A good sized ablution block, kept very clean.
Brotherswater Inn onsite was great, good food and drink, and a welcome respite from the awful weather. The pitches were mostly level with hardstanding dotted around to help protect the ground. We were also given the heads up of a group of DoE, so gave us an opportunity to pitch away from them.
Sadly for us, the weather was atrocious. Our 2nd day, it was 40mph+ winds with heavy rain. Safe to say, our tent struggled, and eventually leaked. The ground around us was saturated with water, it was beginning to flood. As a result, we cut our trip short and left a day early.
Other than the weather, which is always unpredictable, would highly recommend this campsite and will definitely be returning - with a new and improved tent!

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2025 Great stay, lovely campsite with a really belting view every way you look. Lovely flat pitches and space to park near your tent which always makes life easier.
Good range of facilities, hot showers, laundry facilities etc. Felt like it was a monitored site too, and it wasn't noisy or rowdy. We didn't get to visit the pub sadly as was fully booked a week in advance when I enquired, so factor that in.
We stayed during a huge thunderstorm, was quite epic hearing it bounce off the mountains surrounding us, very memorable experience!

There was a storm whilst we stayed and they had staff come out to make sure everyone was okay.

There was a big storm during our stay and a lot of the campsite flooded out. Not the site's fault in any way but worth noting that water does stand on several parts of the campsite. It did drain fairly quickly and the site attendant was excellent checking on everyone.

Stayed for four nights and cannot fault it. Perfect location, great staff and facilities. Ideal if you really want to get away from it all.
Will definitely return in the near future.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2025 Fantastic campsite. Staff were very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. It was excellently located to head off onto the fells to bag some Wainwright's.
Facilities were always clean and available. Plenty of hot water for showers etc.
We will 100% be booking again.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2025 Great place for a base to explore the fells from. Decent pub on the site. We stopped when the heavens decided to open this week, but would return with hopefully better weather next time.

Lots of bins to get rid of rubbish. Good value for money.
Book early if you want to eat in the pub as it was booked out all weekend.
Limited choice for breakfasts and coffee is over priced.

Great location
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2025 My partner and I spent the last two nights at Skyeside Camping Park, and we can honestly say, it's one of the best we've stayed at yet.
Location was fantastic with easy access to the Fells. Toilets and showers were very clean, great shop for the essentials and a nice pub, what else could you ask for. Only bad point I can think of, the pub get booked up well in advance for food, so make sure you book a few weeks before your stay.
Other than that, I'd say 5 stars for Skyeside.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2025 We had a blast, we phoned and booked a day early to arrive and luckily they had space, wasn't too crowded for it being a bank holiday and didn't have any issues.
The restaurant food was fast and good so perfect there. Will 100% be back, thank you.
Very, very good
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2025 Really lovely place will definitely be coming back. Right in the valley so stunning views, with frequent fighter jets flying past, very cool.
Showers are very hot with no option to cool it down but otherwise, all the amenities are great.
One night camp
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Apr 2025 We booked two pitches for our tents fairly last minute and were happy there was availability.
The campsite was very good, it's in a lovely setting with plenty of room to pitch. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The toilets and showers were plentiful and very clean.
We didn't get chance to use all the facilities available due to the fact we had just completed a 10km hike with 1,000m of elevation so we just crashed out in our tents exhausted!
Would definitely recommend and return again.
Hiking camp
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Apr 2025 Good site, we felt it was a little bit weird that one of the owners (we think) starts patrolling the campsite at night - we felt a little bit like it was a school trip with him doing that.
Decent distance to multiple hikes throughout the district.

Toilets clean, only gripe is the showers were too hot and you can't control the temperature as they are push button style. We were lucky enough to have several low flying jets passing directly overhead through the site, quite a spectacle.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Apr 2025 Me and 2 friends had a great night's stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food at the Brotherswater Inn was spot on and all facilities were very clean and in good condition.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Apr 2025 Really enjoyed it here, will definitely come again. Staff are friendly and prices reasonable. Location is easy to get to, roads are pothole free which is a nice surprise.
Only gripe is the group bookings which seemed way more than the maximum on the site, which was annoying.
