Nestled along the banks of the River Medway, this small site offers a relaxing base for families and couples wanting to spend some time in the great outdoors. This small site offers a real sense of seclusion with peace and quiet, wildlife, and direct access to Allington Lock. For campers, there are eight non electric grass pitches measuring 8m x 5m. Perfect for families and couples wanting to reconnect with nature and make long-lasting memories. Or, if you would prefer to have a solid roof over your head there are two camping cabins. Please bring your own bedding as it is not provided. Outside the cabins is a decked porch area with a table and chairs for making the most out of the British summertime. You can expect to see an abundance of wildlife, from herons, kingfishers, swans, coots, cormorants, and moorhens. If you're lucky, you might spot an eel or even a seal gliding by! The campsite has a communal BBQ and pizza oven area so you can whip up something tasty in the evenings. There is even a covered picnic area so you can dine outside. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you for your stay, but the site asks that they are kept on a lead and not left unattended. This is a small, low-impact site with limited bin space. Please take your rubbish home where possible to help keep the site clean, peaceful, and just as lovely for the next guests.

A note from the site themselves...

I've come to realise that shared experiences matter a lot to me.

So, when I made a lifestyle change three years ago and moved onto a boat on the beautiful River Medway, I knew I couldn't keep it all to myself—this place, and its wildlife, are just too special not to share.

Running this little campsite feels like the perfect fit, because when you arrive, I know you're here for the same reasons I am.

Our stay at Graham's cabin was great. As advertised, the cabin does not have bedding, so bring your own! The cabin was basic but enough for a good night's sleep. The facilities were good. While the logistics of getting booked in are a little complicated, Graham was incredibly caring in ensuring we found our way to the cabin at night. He even phoned us to make sure we were clear with the check-in process. He went the 'extra mile' to ensure we would have a good stay. Check-in is a bit clunky but it all worked fine. The location is great. Right on the river, next to the lock. And a great little canteen serving lovely food with outdoor seating. I recommended this cabin as a good cheap-ish place to stay. And Graham is lovely.

This campsite is a little plot of land set next the River close to the castle at Allington Lock. It was easy to find and the site is kept to a very high standard all the facilities were clean and well presented. I felt safe and secure during my stay even though I was on my own. Being by the river there is so much to see totally relaxing to just watch the boats go by or if you fancy there are lots of scenic walks to enjoy with no need for getting back in the car. I would highly recommend this as a destination of all travellers including families wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a few days at a very reasonable cost. Added interest there is an amazing coffee kiosk on the lock and if you are a keen runner on a Saturday morning there is a beautiful flat parkrun that takes you all along the river towards Maidstone and back. Whats not to like !!

Great location, not at all crowded, and loads to see and do locally. Had a great four-day stay at this quiet campsite right next door to the River Medway. Was a bit worried about the self check-in but the instructions we received when we booked were clear and easy to follow. Loads to do locally, pub the other side of the river, little coffee shop and a trip boat into Maidstone town. Facilities were cleaned everyday and the shower was piping hot. Pitches were large and flat. Only slight downside was there's no outside lights, so needed a torch. Will defo return.
