Westermill Farm campsite offer a spacious 15 acres divided into 4 fields almost all close to the delightful River Exe. Seize the chance to relax and unwind in the heart of Exmoor National Park. Farm animals roam the grass paddocks and there are four circular walks to explore the site. It's a haven for birds, wild flowers, fishing and river bathing.
About Westermill Farm Campsite
The farm is a peaceful family friendly campsite that's full of rural charm. Campfires are welcome in the fourth field and there are communal fire pits for campers in the other fields who wish to enjoy their marshmallow smores! The site is dog friendly and BBQs are permitted for a proper camping cook out. There's also home grown free range sausages on offer at the farm, so you won't be short of something tasty for dinner. After a long day's walking, enjoy a piping hot shower with water which comes from the local farm water and is heated with wood from the farm. Pitches are on spacious green hills with views either of the River Exe or the nearby Exmoor countryside, both lovely to enjoy. All but one of the camping fields have direct access to the river, which children love. Enjoy fishing and paddling, or take the kids to see the farm animals. Visitors choose where to camp on arrival and pitch in the spot that suits them best. There are four Somerset Wildlife Sites on the farm so the environment is also a top priority. There are always sheep, pigs, chickens and cattle roaming the nearby fields.
The site is open from the 1st of April until the 30th of November.

Site rules and policies
- We have a no radio policy - with that being said if your 'neighbour' can't hear it that is fine.
- Dogs must be kept on leads and under-control at all times
- Children must be supervised at all times
- We ask visitors to drive in 1st gear only - there are animals, dogs and children running around!
- Have fun and relax!
- Look up at the glorious stars at night!
Things to do on site and in the Minehead area
On site there are plenty of great opportunities to have fun and enjoy the Exmoor countryside. Westermill is located in Europe's first International Dark Sky Reserve so come here to marvel at the wonders of the night sky, it's the perfect location for stargazing.
Not only that but the River Exe runs through the camping fields so Westermill is a fantastic place for the children to play, paddle, make dams, splash around and catch fish.
For keen walkers there are four way-marked walks around the 500 acre working hill farm. Get some fresh air and see animals up close and personal.
There is also a seasonal small shop on site which sells fresh local farm produce such as bread, milk, eggs and more. Not far away, get to know the three great local pubs in Challacombe and Exford.
Moving beyond the site, being in a national park means there are a host of outdoor activities for all the family:
- Stunning walks over Exmoor, with over 100km of marked footpaths.
- Pony trekking over the moor to give your feet a rest.
- Dunster Castle
- The Valley of the Rocks
- Tarr steps for those brave enough to cross the River Barle.
- Porlock for a lovely walks along the beach and weir.
- Woolacombe has a long stretch of beach with fine open sand and excellent rock pools.
- Quince Honey Farm for a display of open hives.
- Clovelly Court Gardens for luscious Victorian gardens hidden away behind 12ft high walls.
- The farmer's market at Minehead (Fridays) and WI market in South Molton (Thursdays).
- Lynton and Lynmouth for great fish and chips at the Esplanade Fish Bar in Lynmouth.
- Taking an Exmoor safari in a landrover with Barle Valley Safaris.
