Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesSep 2025

Great view of the fells with easy access to Sticks Pass and Helvellyn. The owner was very helpful with the walking routes. The main road is busy during the day but quietens down at night and didn’t disturb our sleep. Facilities basic but sufficient with plenty of hot water.

Well maintained site. Facilities clean, showers hot, good access to routes up Helvellyn. Despite being near road it was quiet overnight.

Roof Tent - Non Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

Great location to stay, very close to Keswick and Threkeld. Good sized hard standing pitch but very close to neighbouring tents / awnings if you have a side tent. Facilities were great, two showers and several toilets. Hot water to wash up with was a nice touch also to save boiling water to wash. Right next to a pub was also great especially during wet weather evenings.

Perfect spot

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

Very nice stay, good. Facilities everything we needed, perfect location, little bit tricky with a towing caravan, perfect for motorhomes.

Would recommend, facilities basic, but that's all you need

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

Stayed for a long weekend. The location is ideal for some amazing walks from the site. Bus stop outside site with a bus every 30 mins to Keswick. The pub next to the site is great, had Sunday lunch there, the best I've had. There was also electric on site. The toilet and shower blocks are basic, but it's a working farm, and we found them clean at all times. We will definitely be returning.

Luscious lakeland spot

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

A site that meets all your needs and is set in beautiful surroundings. However, it is just off of a fairly busy, (mainly daytime) road. It is right next to a pub that serves good food. Pitches are a little on the small side. Ideal as we used it for a stopover.

Excellent site

The facilities and support were really good for our stay. The toilets & showers were really clean and the staff were always willing to help or answer questions. For my first campervan break I thoroughly enjoyed my stay

Nice spot, close to Thirlmere lake and a pub next door!

Roof Tent - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

Lovely little campsite! Electric and running water right next to our pitch. Toilets and showers were clean. Washing up facilities and fridge freezer available. Quiet spot but a busy road opposite so louder during the day. Pub next door and less than a mile walk to the lake. No children allowed to stay.

Superb location and an outstanding stay

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

This is one of the best sites we stayed at in the Lake District with our Motorhome. The owners were very flexible and very helpful to us, over accommodating an additional night's stay, and this was one of the spots which would best accommodate our motorhome (over 7m long). Facilities are all you need - electric power, fresh water, showers and toilets. Don't expect luxury but all were exactly as needed and totally suited for purpose. The site is small and perfect for a quiet stay without hordes of vehicles or being surrounded by people. Less than 20 pitches in total - perfect to not feel inundated with other visitors or vehicles, and no tents allowed so again, this is perfect if this is what you are looking for. The location is perfect for the tranquillity and solitude of Thirlmere Lake. Not one of the busiest, which was perfect for us as it was almost deserted and we only saw a handful of other people - even though our visit was in August, in the height of summer and in the middle of school holidays. Stunning walking around the area, including around Thirlmere, easy access to Hevellyn, and also access to the fast becoming more and more popular (but prior to the age of Insta, mostly little known / "secret") "infinity pools" and waterfalls. Spectacular views and only a 30-45min walk from the site. The buses to Keswick / Kendall and direct into Grasmere, Ambleside, Windermere etc. are directly outside the site (no walking distance at all) so absolutely perfect location for getting on and off in either direction north or south. The positioning of the King's Head pub is right next door (less than a 1min walk!) so again an absolutely perfect position - superb food and drink on offer there and very friendly staff with beautiful outdoor space and and very cosy indoor space for when it's colder. Some reviews I noticed before booking had commented on the noise from the main road as the site is very near the road. We hardly even noticed this while we were staying there, if at all over 3 days - so for us this was not even remotely a factor and shouldn't put people off unless you are looking for ultra tranquillity and ultra peace and quiet. The quietness of the site itself with a more limited number of pitches far outweighed any inconsequential noise we might have very occasionally noticed from the road. Really though, this is not a factor. I guess for families and young kids looking for play areas and a bar / entertainments, shop etc on-site then this is probably not the site for you, however the very quick and uber-easy access to walks, spectacular views, lake, waterfalls, etc etc are awesome. We would highly recommend this site - just don't expect ultra modern or ultra luxurious facilities. But for us, this was by far our favourite site in the Lake District which we stayed at. And so for us, it was perfect all round.

Convenient little site

Handy location between Keswick and Ambleside. Pub next door. Walks from the doorstep e.g. Thirlmere Infinity Pool. I left a day early due to the wet and windy weather - but that's not the site's fault :)

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

Lovely site, clean facilities, nice staff, lovely walks. If I could ask for anything more it would have to be WIFI as we had no signal whatsoever once on site but all in all enjoyed our stay.

Great spot for a campsite

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

This is a lovely campsite out of the way from the crowds but still within easy reach of Keswick, Grassmere and Ambleside. There are some lovely views up the hills and good access to the thermal springs if that floats your boat. You are a bit close to the road with a bit of road noise during the day but there is a running stream close by, a great pub just next door and a bus stop just outside. The facilities are very clean but basic. Loved it 😊

Quiet, peaceful & well located

Very easy to find in a good location. Facilities were very clean and functional though found shower head a little low and close to wall. Would recommend for couples or solo travellers.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

Nice little campsite, ideal location for Helvellyn and Thirlmere. Quite remote. The site is right next to main road so can be slightly noisy with passing traffic but the facilities are a good standard. It's about 15mins from Keswick and the same from Ambleside. The pub next door is very good and worth a visit.

Flying visit!

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

Lovely scenic pitch at the foot of Helvellyn (spelling). Basic site, quiet, adults only. Lovely hot showers and all very clean. I would return again. Handy for bus to Keswick and pub next door for good meals. I would have preferred a few more hooks in the shower cubicles. The proprietor was very patient with me, as I arrived 35 mins after the official arrive time, very kind..

Lovely little campsite in a great location

A bit of road noise, basic facilities, clean, but shower in need of an upgrade. Overall, enjoyed the stay, and right next door to the Kings Head Inn, good food etc.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

A small site with hard-standing at the front of the farm. Great location for climbing Helvellyn and there's a pub and bus stop next door. Facilities are dated, but charming and clean. You're right next to a road so it's noisy in the day but quiet by 10pm.

Sunny stay

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

Bus stops right outside, great walks from site and lovely pub next door. Only downside was the showers might have been better. Owners are nice and helpful, pitches large each with own water and electric.

A good stopover for the lakes or Scotland

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

This is a small site with a great view over rolling hills. The toilets and showers are simple but clean, but there is no warden present on the site. This wasn't a problem for us and we were told to select our preferred pitch and set up.
