Loved it
Bell Tent - Bell Tent Aug 2025 I would highly recommend the bell tent to anyone who is looking for a lovely, chilled night away. The facilities were amazing and everything was very clean. The bed was SO comfy.
Amazing stay
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2025 Such an affordable and accessible campsite! Especially great for people walking the Cumbria way as you walk though on your way to Carlisle and there are a few free solar powered plug sockets!
Would definitely recommend to anyone, pub nearby too ;)
Lovely little camp
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2025 Beautiful lake running through camp, space for wild swimming at bottom. Fire pits on each pitch, pitches are of a very good size!
The site was very peaceful with little to no noise in the evenings.
Host was lovely and friendly. Would definitely return.

Immaculate spacious pitches, toilet and showers were amazingly clean! Grass was perfectly mowed. Convenient location, near by shops, restaurants and beautiful walks.
Great value for money, would highly recommend and can't wait to rebook and visit again.

Toilet block clean and accessible. Even wee cleaning area for your dishes ect.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2025 Pleasantly greeted when we arrived at the site and directed to our pitch.
Well situated and easy to access. Plenty of room on the pitch for both our tents and motorcycles. The facilities were clean and well kept.
Would happily recommend and return ourselves in the future.

Toilet and shower block was clean and spacious.
Washing up hut did the job perfectly and had a load of useful local information as well.
There's also a pub a short distance away (~5 minute walk) which does good food.

Amazing
Bell Tent - Bell Tent Jun 2025 Absolutely over the moon with the bell tent and the clean amenities - we arrived to a supply of milk, water, coffee, decaf, tea bags and sugar, toilet rolls, firefighters and lighter, use of a gas stove and cutlery, clothes rail and comfy chairs inside and the bed with the 'teddy bear' blanket was lovely and warm despite the weather being cold and wet.
Own private sink and toilet was a great and the shower blocks were extremely clean.
We had a fantastic time and will use this site as a regular base when visiting local area. We booked it to do the climb the mine at honister but the 50mm drive going through Keswick was well worth it .
Will use the campsite for camping as well as very well layed-out and with electric use and every pitch having a fire pit was amazing.
Someone was always available at the house when we required but to be fair that was arriving and leaving as we were left alone which we prefer.
Local pub very nice as well. On the river as well which was lovely to walk down to. No park though if that's what you would want if you took young children but with the river they probably wouldn't notice.

Lovely little campsite

Each pitch had a picnic bench and firepit as standard and the cleanliness was second to none as the loos were cleaned twice a day!
The only thing missing was ice block freezing facilities, besides this it had everything we look for in a campsite. Will be returning.

Busy, good, budget campsite Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2024 This park is good for walkers passing through the Lake District. For longer stays, it's ok if you like it busy with people, not suitable if you like it quiet and peaceful.
The host are lovely and the toilets, showers and washing up area were immaculate, plenty of hot water too.
Hidden gem in the heart of the Lake District
Jul 2024 Fantastic location, booked this as a weekend trip with a group - we’re all local to Cumbria so a nice spot to meet up. Very cheap and reasonable compared to other setups close by. Got a nice open pitch by the river which was lovely, nice and secluded and private. Managed to pitch 4 tents with room for plenty more. Pitch supplied with a wooden bench and fire pit which was lovely!
Very straightforward and simple to book, and the facilities are ideal. A small cabin with washing up facilities and hot water as well as a solar charger if you’re in a pinch. Then a full standalone toilet and shower block with modern WC, showers and changing facilities which is very welcome with open to the elements camping!
Really nice hosts and would definitely come back again, but will be recommending this to others and thank you very much for providing such a lovely location to pitch up and sit back!

Gorgeous, peaceful site and well located
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2024 We had a complicated booking as one of our party had changed from a tent to a van and we required a large camping pitch as well. Val was really accommodating and we were able to camp together. Fire pit and picnic bench by the river and a great spot for a dip, had the water been warmer!

Bell Tent - Bell Tent May 2024 My stay at Caldbeck was lovely. Staff were welcoming and friendly. This was my first solo camping trip, the staff didn’t know this but checked on me both days which I found comforting. Have booked to come back and explore more of the area!

Cutest getaway
Bell Tent - Bell Tent May 2024 Amazing value for money. Brilliant location. Photos don't do it justice, tent next to the cutest river, farm animals surrounded the camp site and there is a private cooking area outside the tent which was so useful and fun :)
Fresh milk provided in the tent in a fridge which was a really nice extra. Cutlery, washing equipment and heated provided.
Would definitely recommend.

Bell Tent - Bell Tent Apr 2024 Absolutely loved our stay here. The hosts were lovely and extremely helpful for any queries we had.
Our bell tent was fantastic. Really spacious inside and had plenty of bedding for the cold nights, fridge and heater were great too. Plenty of utensils for cooking outside.
The location was perfect, next to the stream and easy walking distance to the town and woods. The private patio and fire pit gave some nice privacy. Only point to note is you'll have to buy your own firewood/starters, but can do this easily in the town shop.
The town is a quick walk away, with a shop, gift shop, pub and more. Anything you'd need you can get from the town and the pub nearby is nice for a meal out.
Will definitely be coming back here, perfect value for money and a great location. Highly recommend.
