Common End Farm is set amongst 20 acres of farmland, a great base for exploring the Peak District National Park. Tents, caravans and campervans can pitch up on grass and hardstanding pitches, some even have the option of an electric hook up. Welcoming both dogs and children, it is an ideal spot for the whole family, with space for children to play and a large field to exercise your four legged friends. Ashbourne is just ten minutes away too.

We had two nights at the site. Staff were very welcoming and answered all questions. Great location. Showers were clean, great facilities. We didn't have electric hook up but they let my son charge his iPad up late one evening and brought it back to us when it was charged, which put a great smile on his face. Would recommend! 100%.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, very friendly and welcoming. Great pitch space and facilities clean and tidy. Loved that there is somewhere to pop Karla-pup for a walkies away from other campers. We even stayed an extra night. Will definitely be back and recommending to family and friends. Thank you from Trish, Meg and Karla-pup.

We really liked the campsite, it was small and friendly and close to lovely walks. We walked to Ilam village which was approximately a 8.5km round trip. Dovedale to the stepping stones was another 20 minutes, it was beautiful. The hall and park is lovely to take dogs and children, there is a cafe and tea rooms. The toilet and shower blocks were clean at the campsite, and the wardens Jo and Ricky are very helpful. It is 10 minutes walk from a local pub, we only had drinks but it seemed very popular for food. The views are great from the pretty field. We will definitely return.

Only stayed for two nights but what a restful amazing break. The site managers were lovely and the site was one of the cleanest I have used in over 40 years. Great site. Fabulous people, what more could you ask for.

We adored staying at this site, all the facilities were beautifully clean and working well. The shop on site was very handy and we had fresh eggs for breakfast, which was beautiful. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The view of this campsite was breathtaking, especially when we were lucky enough to see hot air balloons in the evening, will definitely be coming here to visit again.

We had a lovely last minute weekend stay. The hosts are lovely with great communication. The site was in a perfect location for Dovedale and Ashbourne with plenty of walks. The views were amazing from the 'pretty field' and we will be back again!

Thank you for your kind review. We are very fortunate with our location and beautiful views over Thorpe Cloud and the proximity to Ilam, Dovedale and Ashbourne. The weather was amazing too. We look forward to hosting you again in the future. :)

Close to Dovedale and Ashbourne, within reach of Matlock/Bath and Crich. Lots of entertainment venues for families nearby: tramway museum, farm park, river for paddling, Alton towers and many more. Fantastic walking area, obviously. The wardens were friendly and always available/around. They have a great dog walking field with gorgeous views. The electric pitches are arranged in a circle, like an arena, with a large grass area in the centre for play. Children and adults can play safely in the middle as parents can always see them. The showers, toilets and pot washing facilities all work and are clean. There's also a freezer for communal use. The access is controlled by an electric gate so security is good. The things which could be improved include play equipment for children, separating families from groups of adults who want to be loud and up late. Shower temperature when busy. Enforcement of noise rules after 11pm. Proximity of pitches: a bit too close to neighbours who may smoke near you. Electric supply too far from pitch.
First time out in our van and what a lovely site we found

First time out in our day camper van and found a little gem of a site. Not too big or noisy, immaculate toilet/shower facilities and lovely wardens to help with any issues or advice. We planned a walk from Ilam to Dovedale onto Mill Dale and back to Ilam on Saturday, which was just a few minutes drive from the site, and Sunday morning spent in Matlock Bath before heading home. Site is just a few miles from Ashbourne for supermarkets, fuel etc. This was perfect for us for a couple of days stay and look forward to returning to explore the area more in the future.

Common End is a lovely site in an ideal location. The facilities were kept nice and clean, and Richard and Joanne were so welcoming. I went solo, but it looked like it was also very accommodating to small and large groups, and although it was relatively busy, there were no noise issues. I would definitely recommend this site.

Only stayed over one night, but the site was very nice (although, quite quiet when we stayed). Clean facilities and the unisex facilities were appreciated by one member of our party. Very convenient for the Staff's Peaks and Alton Towers.
Great little site, wonderfully run by superb wardens

This is a great little site with rustic but very clean toilets and showers. Some lovely walks in any direction. The wardens are super friendly, present but not intrusive. Would definitely stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have nothing but good things to say about the site and the lovely couple who are employed to meet the camper's needs. The site was easy to find, the pitches generous and the toilet and showers good and well looked after. My only complaint would be how low the toilets are, but that is true of most places.

Lovely welcome when entering the site. Extremely protected by a gate. Everything was pointed out for us so we knew where everything was. Facilities were extremely clean, never experienced a campsite like it. Plenty of amenities. Will definitely be returning.

We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return. It was quite muddy after all the rain but the facilities were kept meticulously clean. It was in a great location for exploring the local area. We had a day at the National Stone Centre and Carsington. We also walked to the local pub for a lovely meal. The boys loved being able to play ball games in front of our tent. The owners are really friendly and always around to help. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Despite the weather, almost persistent rain and thunderstorms, we had a wonderful time. The campsite and facilities are exactly as described but what made the whole trip was the amazing warm welcome, helpfulness and friendliness of the 4 Wardens who work there. The views from The Pretty Field were amazing.

Booked last minute and we were really pleased to come across the site. We will definitely return just for the easy access to the peaks. Really clean toilets and shower blocks. Huge pitches - wide enough for two vans. The site was quiet, but had plenty of families playing in the spaces. Beautiful views. Staff extremely helpful - offering maps and walks. Pub short walk away with good home cooked food
