I have stayed at Cheglinch camping on my visits to Ilfracombe for the past few years. It is a good basic site at a very reasonable price. The field is large with plenty of room. A number of good eco toilets. There are no showers but the site does not claim any. The site is clean with plenty of bins. A very good pub is 15 mins walk. The fact that I revisit every year is the best recommendation.
I love being in the Cheglinch field

My third summer staying here, it improves each time. Peaceful, spacious and oh so calming. My dogs love it too - thank you for opening each August πβοΈπΆπΆ

We stayed in a pre pitched bell tent in the camping area, which offered beautiful views of the countryside with sheep in the distance. The tent was large enough to comfortably accommodate 2 adults, 2 teens and a toddler. The facilities offered for the campers are relatively basic - running water (cold only) in sinks in the field, as well as 4 compost toilets (very well maintained, with fairy lights, air freshener and hand sanitiser) available. You can rent a fire pit for Β£2 per night and buy a bag of firewood for Β£5. The glamping area looked very lovely too, with private outside cooking areas as well as a games room, football goals and a washing machine. The camping area is relatively hands off, which gave a real camping experience. The location is ideal being in a quiet area, but within a 15 minute drive from Ilfracombe and Woolacombe.

Great site for wild camping, very handy for beaches and local attractions. Compostable loos, the cleanest I've ever seen and no smells. A great location, lovely views and owner dealt with a group of rowdy campers, apologising and relocating them. It was very tranquil and just what you needed to re-charge the old batteries & do a bit of sight seeing. Great pub and fish 'n' chips at nearby Mortehoe. A lovely mini trip exploring North Devon was had, thank you x

A great wild campsite. Basic facilities available, field not too big, great location. It was quiet during the night, even with a range of campers staying (groups of friends, families, couples). The compost toilets were fab with solar lights and were very clean. The two taps with basins were a nice touch. Plenty of space for our kids to run around even with several tents pitched. Easy to get to the beach too - 9 mins to Ilfracombe, 14 to Woolacombe and 20 to Saunton Sands. Highly recommend as a base for North Devon beaches.

Just returned from a lovely stay on the camping field here. As the description on the website says, the campsite has basic amenities with no showers, but the toilets are spotlessly clean and the washing up facilities are great. Lots of room to pitch, lots of room for kids to play and cows to say hello to over the gate! Emily was easy to contact and really helpful and accommodating. Great location in quiet hamlet well off the main road, with easy access to Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, and a nice stroll to West Down to the shop or pub. We will be back. Brilliant.
