Great experience

Great review with my family. The location is unmatched and very close to the seals. Cleanliness was good. Perfect shower designs. Most importantly it is family friendly.

Fantastic stay

We had a fabulous stay! We loved the access to the beach, a highlight was a mornings spent watching the seals. The food trucks that came over the course of our stay were brilliant & we loved the facilities for children on the site. Mini golf and parks were a huge hit along with The walks through waxham woods. Very dog friendly & we made use of the doggy shower every day of our stay. Showers & toilets were spotless & the shop/reception staff were super friendly and helpful. We will be back to visit the seals again next year!

Lovely holiday park

I have just come back from 4 nights camping on a powered site here and have loved it. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location is amazing and the park is very child friendly.

An amazing clean stay!

We had an amazing stay at Waxham Sands. We had an electric hook up pitch, further from the beach, but by a toilet and washing up block. Very quiet in the evenings. Great access to the beach which was beautiful. Brilliant facilities, which made camping with a busy family, a lot easier. On site food vans selling an amazing variety of meals and puddings. Can't wait to go back!

Camping trip

Last minute booking to the site and our first camping trip as a family. Lovely location on the beach, staff friendly and helpful, shower block clean, shop had everything we needed, food trucks was great too. Perfect spot right on the beach will definitely book again!

Great site, but very busy

Great site, facilities are good and the beach is beautiful. We stayed August bank holiday so expected it to be busy, but felt that the pitch sizes needed to be bigger to allow adequate space between tents - most people, us included, had large tents and so it felt like we'd been "packed in" - that aside, no complaints at all. Pizzas from the shop are very nice, food vans are good but very long wait times (again, to be expected on bank holiday weekend). We'd return but probably for a mid week stay when it's a bit quieter.

Unsure on all the hype?

Not overly impressed tbh. The pizza food van was great, along with the amor desserts. Not sure what to think of the roast one. Toilets were dirty every day we were there, wet floors, blocked toilets (although these were quickly fixed) showers had mould all over the doors and only 2 squeegees throughout the women's shower blocks? Meant that if they were being used in a different shower, you had nothing to dry the floor with in yours. The showers also sprayed out to the sides with barely any water in the centre? This made it hard to shower and also meant that even the bench provided got wet and no hooks on the doors to hang anything. Made it difficult to keep belongings dry. The communal safari was a lovely touch however, again, filthy! Games thrown everywhere, all outside chairs brought inside and dumped. We went in immediately after it was 'cleaned' and tables were visibly dirty and didn't see anyone actually wipe them down? Bottle tops still all over the floor. Staff didn't put the outside chairs back outside either which made it difficult for other guests with wheelchairs and prams to actually enter the tent! I only saw the safari tent cleaned once during our 5 day stay and toilets cleaned twice during that time, which was only in the mornings, so my guess is that they are only cleaned once a day? I noticed rubbish in the bins overflowing in the toilets was still there the following morning. Pitches are small and you are all very on top of each other. Drinking water tap situated next to the waste water was quite bizarre. Can't say that's very hygienic. Also, the washing up sinks were full of sand! Not the fault of the owners of course and completely the fault of the people staying there but nevertheless, again begs the question, do they get cleaned? And how often? No point trying to clean dishes in a dirty sink! The park, however, was incredible enough for all kids to play and not be overcrowded and the direct beach access was also brilliant. This place has so much potential! It could be something amazing but I feel the cleanliness lets it down massively. We were up most nights due to other campers dogs barking excessively and there were people smoking on site! Again, not the fault of the owners but unfortunately poor guests, which there seemed to be a lot of! On one occasion, there was a mum screaming at her child who must've been aged 3 or younger in the toilet blocks, who she'd dragged in! But what I will say is at least she went in with her child! Many don't bother and let kids run feral! Kids running under the toilets and then locking them and crawling out so no one else can get in the toilets as they are locked from the inside! Other kids looking under the stalls as strangers are on the toilets as parents are nowhere to be seen! Also dog mess! I've never seen dog mess on any sites we've stayed previously, but this site seemed to have several that hadn't been picked up! I even caught 1 guest with a big dog try to leave dog mess next to the park! It's always around the park/shower block area? Kids almost stepped in it 3 times! Like I said previously, this site has so much potential but unfortunately, 80% of the other guests staying have no respect for the site or for others. There's also no shops nearby, other than the small one on site, and no nearby activities. You've got to travel at least 1 hour to get to anything, which isn't so great.

Fantastic campsite

Our first ever stay at Waxham sands we absolutely LOVED it clean organised everything catered for shop, food vendors, games, golf, beach was soo close and dog friendly. We are coming back, I'm going to get some family members to join us next time. Can't rate it enough, thank you and see you next year!

Brilliant stay

Toilets and showers very clean. Brilliant play area for the children, as well as crazy golf. Different food trucks every night. Plus a permanent bar! Well stocked shop that stayed open until the evening. Pitches were a decent size.

Short break

Overall we had a lovely stay, but had a few things to improve on. The shower block, although big individual cubicles, there is no dry or wet space and could easily be correct with a shower curtain, a mirror would be beneficial too. The washing up area, needs hot water, the whole time we were there, there wasn't any and it been reported. Getting over the dunes to the beach was a bit tricky and wow…so worth it. Beautiful beach, no hassles, water temperature was fabulous and just an amazing place to be.

Lovely stay

We had a lovely 4-night stay in our tent at Waxham Sands. It was great being able to access the beach within a few minutes and then seeing seal swimming around! The toilets and shower blocks were kept clean and tidy, with plenty of toilets and washing up facilities available. The litter pickers were out in force every morning at 7, keeping the site tidy. The food vans and bar van was great and it was nice to be able to sit out on the decking by the safari tent to eat, whilst the children were on the play area. We found the site was always quiet by 10 o'clock and everyone was respectful of each other. Waxham Sands is a small, friendly site with helpful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely break away

Great place, staff friendly and helpful. Lovely beach, nice and quiet. Great food vans in the evening. Great place for families. One negative is there doesn't seem to have enough ladies showers, come late afternoon you are queuing to use a shower.

Amazing beach location

Amazing location for the beach. It was incredibly busy, but as expected during kids holiday. Overall we had an amazing time.

Great location

Lovely to be so near the sea with sandy beach and roller waves. Good size pitches. Food vans each night and nice seating area. Bad phone signal and Wi-Fi only available in one spot. Toilet facilities clean although a bit dated with only one shower block. Good for family holidays, although a bit expensive.

Very quiet site

Great site, very quiet even when full. Toilets and showers excellent. Unfortunately, not a lot around the area to walk to, coffee shop up the road if you want to walk or drive, as there is parking but service is very, very, very slow. We waited 15 mins and still no service, so left. This campsite definitely needs a coffee shop on it, and even a chip shop or small restaurant - it would make a mint.

Not what we expected

Not what we expected, not knowing it was a 6amp. Poor, will not be coming back.

Great facilities

We had a great spot and they made sure we were next to a friend that had booked which was great. Friendly staff, lots to do and a beautiful beach.

Best family campsite ever

What a beautiful campsite, the pitches were big, a short walk to a stunning beach and I have never seen cleaner facilities on a site. Dogs are very welcome with free dog biscuits and a really useful doggy shower area. The visiting food trucks were a bonus and really high quality food. My daughter loved the park and daily fire pit for toasting marshmallows.

Nice

Super friendly staff, nice grass pitches of a good size, a, good range of facilities and kept tidy, great access to beach too. The only thing we would say as a negative is the toilet and shower blocks we visited are started to look a bit tired, but this may be on their list as everything else was ace.

First time

Very good, happy w/ the pitch size and clean facilities, close to the beach access. Will be back.

Brilliant time

This is the first time we have ever camped and we couldn't have picked a better place. Friendly staff, great location and reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit.

Quite relaxing stay blowing the cobwebs away

This is a quite site with a clean shower block clean toilets. Good washing up facilities if your camping and clean fresh water sites. Plenty of waste bin sites which are emptied staff were all friendly. There is no club house and a small well stocked shop. The other side is now for holiday homes and lodges which can be rented out. We stayed in plot 22 which was ideal for us. A short walk over the dunes to the most stunning beach where we were lucky enough to to see the seals chilling just up from the campsite. They were just off shore swimming in the water keeping a watchful eye on us on the beach! About an hours walk along the beach left of the site is the Dunes cafe which is a must visit and the other way about a 5 minute drive is Popplands cafe which is set in the 1940's. The only fault we could find was lack of WiFi or internet access. There wasn't any so if you rely on the internet access is very limited. Apart from that we will be back. Met some lovely people and made memories. Thank you

Weekend stay at Waxham

We had a brilliant time visiting Waxham Sands this weekend. The site was on the beach with excellent facilities and friendly staff. The beach was clean, and the seals were delightful to see bobbing about in the waves. We had drinks and ate in the pop-up bar and food stalls. I would highly recommend.
