This is a beautiful oasis in the Suffolk countryside

Henstead Fields is perfect location for exploring the coast and also further inland. We visited Southwold, Aldeburgh and Westleton. The site is very well maintained, the facilities are clean and tidy and the owner is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Great bank holiday weekend!

We had a really nice 3 night stay at Henstead Fields over the August bank holiday. The site was fully booked, but still lots of space and very quiet, the owners are very friendly and attentive and always make time to say hello. A lovely dog walk next to the site is very handy and our spaniel explored most of it! The facilities were very well maintained and clean. We would definitely recommend this site and will return soon.

Review

Not enough showers and toilets for the amount of vans and tents on site.

Lovely site

This is a really pleasant site - clean, well run and a very open feeling with large central 'meadow' area. Great to have a fully serviced pitch. It was very quiet at night, and even the 'FolkEast' music festival nearby was barely audible on the wind. The countryside around feels very unspoilt and is lovely to walk in, and the lanes were very quiet. Really good welcome 'pack' from the owners detailing things to do, places to eat etc. This is a very convenient site for Southwold, only 15 mins away. All in all, a great place to stay! Camping site

A very fine, spacious little site with perfectly adequate facilities in a beautiful, genuinely rural location without the problems of excessive tourism which can spoil more spectacular landscapes. A warm, personal welcome was much appreciated. For anyone with an interest in biodiversity, particular attractions of the area around the site are the numerous small ponds and moats, the amount of tree cover and many obviously ancient hedges of a wonderful thickness and depth. The local footpaths and roads are well worth exploring for these.

Peaceful campsite, clean facilities and friendly owners

A very peaceful campsite with large pitch spaces. The facilities and site itself were kept very clean. The owners were friendly and helpful. We would happily return here again.

Lovely quiet peaceful site, plenty space on pitches and all services per pitch. Sarah and Callum friendly and helpful. Easy to find with directions given. Facilities where kept clean and tidy at all times. Lovely break and sure we will return soon.

A quite, well maintained campsite in an excellent location

We recently stayed for 3 nights, and would definitely come again. The site is in a great location for visiting places such as Southwold, Beccles and Lowestoft. The bathrooms are spotless and the site is quiet, with large pitches for both tents and caravans/campers. The owners visit regularly to clean and check everything is ok, we had a very warm welcome and we are looking forward to our next visit. Perfect for families looking for a quiet site, clean, dog friendly and close to local amenities.

Short stay near Latitude festival

Excellent campsite. 10 mins drive to Latitude festival so we camped in comfort. The pitches are enormous and superbly well kept. There is a large open space in the middle of the site with no campers, suitable for games, and there is a designated and enclosed area for exercising dogs, so no nasty surprises in the grass. The owners were extremely helpful without being over bearing. The wash facilities were top quality and clean the whole time we were there. Some reviews mention that there are too few toilets but the site is set up for a small number of large pitches so the facilities are ample. The owners have added an extra toilet but nobody seemed to need this while we were there. Thank you to Callum and Sarah and we will certainly return.

Wonderfully spacious, calm and tranquil

Henstead Fields was booked as a 3 night stay (non electric camping pitch) as a family of 4 to attend the very local Latitude festival (5 miles). We couldn't have made a better choice and were pleasantly surprised on our arrival at how spacious the camping pitches are. Rather than being crammed in, struggling to pitch a large tent between others, we had absolute privacy overlooking the large field to the electric hook up pitches/campervans. The owners could easily make the mid section additional pitches but we really appreciated the space. Each camping pitch was marked out by longer grass borders and paths between the longer grass take you to facilities including very clean toilets and shower cubicles with closing doors - which ran hot water for as long as you need (in 'push' of the button to get ten seconds of water here, as experienced at other campsites. We met Callum who is clearly conscientious and wanting to ensure all guests are happy and if we had any issues we know these would be addressed. But we didn't have any issues as it was perfect!

Very peaceful location

Pros - Hosts are super friendly, helpful and accommodating. They communicated by email all the information we could need and even offered to let us have some tickets we needed mailed to their address. Host came by to see us and make sure we were all settled in and helped make sure we were using the electric hook up correctly. Facilities were clean. Good value for money. Lots of room at our assigned lot. Cons (not really cons - more like observations) - it is a very rural setting, there is literally nothing to do there. Which may be a good thing for other guests. There were only 3 or 4 toilets/showers which was fine during our stay as there were only 2 other lots with people camping. But if there were more lots in use, it could definitely be an issue. If you're looking for a quiet, clean and friendly place to stay, I highly recommend. If you're looking for a place with things to do and see, this might not be for you.

Lovely relaxing break

If you like a lovely peaceful place then I would recommend here. The facilities were spotless at all times and only marked down for the lack of them. Ok for our visit but can imagine very long queues when the campsite is full. The owner was very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Very satisfied with our stay

Very satisfied with our stay. with helpful information, emailed to you after booking, the site is easy to find. A lovely location, well maintained, and kept as natural as possible. More than adequate facilities and it's nice to be greeted and welcomed. Close to places to visit and we will use the campsite again.

A peaceful campsite

We stayed at this campsite for 4 nights, it was very peaceful and quiet, well laid out so there's plenty of room between pitches. The facilities were always really clean and well kept. Owners very friendly.

Bike packing stopover

Slightly remote setting but perfect if that's what you're looking for. Callam was a perfect host even providing camping chairs for our stop. Large spacious site was good clean facilities. Can really recommend. Close to the Wolf Way if cycling the route.

The nearest village, Wrentham, with shops and two pubs is about 3 miles away so easily walkable if you enjoy walking along quiet roads and footpaths or even a cycle! Quiet and peaceful

Beautiful rural campsite. Quiet and peaceful but not too far from places to visit. The owners were very friendly and the facilities were clean and tidy. We took our dog with us so the added bonus of an enclosed dog area was brilliant for our spaniel to have a run around in. We will definitely be returning for another holiday.

Lovely campsite

Very quiet, peaceful campsite close to Beccles and Southwold. Really big pitch sizes and clean toilets and washing up area. The owner was friendly and helpful and the information sent before arrival was useful as well.

Bank holiday camp 2025

We stayed here for the May bank holiday. Me, my wife and our two children (5-7) The campsite is very well maintained with large pitches and more than enough space in between. The pitches are arranged in a horseshoe shape which makes it easy to see the children play and look for insects in the grass while your on your pitch. Toilet facilities are clean and up-to-date. There is a mixed/disabled room which makes it easy to wash the kids, family wash rooms always make it easier keeping the tribe clean. Toilet wash is easy to use and pot wash area was well maintained. The host Callum came and said hello and had a chat with a brief intro to the site, Then we were left alone to enjoy our stay in the peace and quiet of the site. A perfect weekend away

We have just returned from a three night stay and had a great time. The site is spacious, very well maintained and the toilets/showers were spotlessly clean. The site has a fantastic safe enclosed play area for dogs. The site was perfect for us as we like long walks with our dog, nearest pub was a lovely 3 mile stroll away. We had the pleasure of meeting Callum the site owner who was really helpful throughout our stay.

Henstead Fields

Good level pitches on a big field. Good facilities, showers with constant hot water. Excellent communication with owner, very helpful. A good place to visit, interesting places including Cove Hithe and Kessingland, the local beaches were much loved by the dog and Southwold. Nice bridlepath by the side of the site to walk the dog.

A long weekend in a beautiful setting

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely site in the Suffolk countryside. It was very peaceful and had all the facilities we required. The owner called a couple of times each day to make sure we were okay and that we had everything we needed. He helped us when the join in our water hose came apart, going to get a new jubilee clip and returning to assist in fixing the problem.
