Grantley Court is a lovely 5 van Caravan and Motorhome Club site in Llandrinio, close to Oswestry Welshpool and Shrewsbury. Caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents only - no tents. Dogs very welcome.

About the site

Grantley Court is a beautiful Caravan and Motorhome Club CL site in the Powys village of Llandrinio. Visitors writing to the club to praise the site have seen it awarded several rosettes. It's a scenic location, set in between Shrewsbury, Welshpool and Oswestry and just a short distance from the River Severn. The spot is ideal for those who enjoy some peace and tranquillity. Access is easy via the B4393 and over a gravel drive into the field at the rear. The site is licensed for 5 caravans in the secluded and level, two acre paddock to the rear. The paddock is surrounded by hedges and the grass is always kept neat. There is also a self contained annexe for hire, which sleeps a family of four. The site is very dog friendly.

The site is open from March until the end of October, weather dependent. Stays outside of these dates may also be possible.

Lovely clean shower and toilets. Within a short walking distance is the Punch Bowl Inn. They serve good food and always have guest beers. A bit further up the road and one mile from Grantley is the local garage with a Post Office, mini-supermarket and bottled gas supplies. WiFi is available on site.

We are very easy going but ask the following:

* No tents

* Disposable BBQs on a stand please - they kill the grass.

* If you bring your dogs, please pick up their poop :-)

Things to do on site and in the Llanymynech area

The area is great for walkers. The Severn Way is a few hundred metres away and Offa's Dyke Path is only a mile up the road. There's also a strenuous walk to the top of Criggion to see Rodney's Pillar, or try the three hills that make up the Breidden Hills. Whichever direction you head in, you'll discover plenty of short rambles and longer excursions in the surrounding hills and valleys.

There is plenty to see and do in the area too. You could easily spend a day exploring Powis Castle (National Trust), or taking a ride on the Welshpool and Llanfair Steam Railway. Or perhaps head out to Lake Vyrnwy, or visit one of the excellent local garden centres. Chirk Castle and Erddig are close by too.

A local farmer will allow you to fish the River Severn from his land for £5 a day. Other local activities include clay pigeon shooting, riding, kayaking and more. The Bala White Water centre is an hour away by car.
