Lovely and quiet Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Campsite is lovely and quiet. Could do with some lighting from bottom fields up the lane to main shower block, bar and eatery are located.
There is a compost toilet on meadow field but unfortunately people weren't adhering to how it should be used so this became blocked.
Owners were lovely and friendly upon arrival and the duration of the stay. Wood fired pizzas were lovely and worth the money.
We would definitely stay again and maybe book the woodland pitches. The lane is tight if you had anything larger than a transit camper.
Beautiful place Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Came to Cefn Coed, sorry to say it was the weather that got to me.
Didn't have any time to explore but it is a beautiful place.
Lovely site Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Aug 2026 Lovely site, that’s a bit different to the norm.
3 Nights at Cefn Coed Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Aug 2026 We spent 3 nights at Cefn Coed while doing some fishing around Snowdonia, the campsite is fairly remote and has 2 decent size villages nearby if wanted.. We were on a woodland pitch which is exactly how it sounds, there's a small but rocky/uneven path leading to the pitch sheltered by trees and the free use of wheelbarrows to move kit to and from your pitch easier. If you struggle with walking I wouldn't recommend the woodland pitches but more the meadows instead. The shower/toilet block facilities are fairly compact but decent, there is dish washing sinks, sinks with mirrors for cosmetics etc and then multiple showers and toilets which were clean and functional. There is bins for all recycling and waste needs as well. The check in took 2 minutes and the staff were polite and helpful. Worth the money in my opinion.
First family camping trip Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 We have just had a lovely 2 night stay with our 2 young children. This was our first camping trip, we will definitely be back.
The service, facilities, location, and value were all excellent. The short walk to the estuary is a must do.
The shower and toilet facilties are clean and well maintained. There is plenty of space to pitch your tent and a little shop for some essentials. There is plenty of communal areas with fences, tables, and hammocks.
Also, night time food and drink available, and even somewhere to charge devices and and freeze icepack.
The site is located well for days out to Bala, Barmouth and so much more.
Cefn coed Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 We stayed here a couple of times before and we were impressed to see the improvements made at the campsite. The location is fantastic, beautiful surroundings and close to the seaside. There are nice places to go for walks and visit. The staff at the campsite are very friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be going back there and I would recommend it for everyone who just wants to unwind and relax. Is a great place.
Welcoming and very clean Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Aug 2026 We felt welcomed during the stay. Firewood pizza was amazing and al facilities kept clean and up to good standards. Definitely be coming back next year and recommend campsite to my friends and family.
Great place to stay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Aug 2026 Such a nice campsite with a really friendly service. We couldn’t have asked for more.
Definitely worth getting the pizzas from the in-site outdoor restaurant.
Nice campsite Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Aug 2026 Overall really nice campsite and staff were super friendly.
Main downfall would be bathroom and shower facilities getting rather messy between cleans, perhaps this needs to be more regular. Also didn't love people walking through my pitch rather than using the pathway.
Cosy Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Lovely place to stay, riverside just from a short walk, though it could improve on the toilets as it's getting crowded when the camp is full on busy times.
Fantastic campsite, excellent location and great amenities Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 We had a great 3 nights at Cefn Coed. Fantastic location with access to the river and 20 mins away from the beach or parking for mountains. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We also used the onsite sauna which was excellent and incredibly peaceful! Would definitely recommend and would happily stay again
A wonderful place Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 A lovely campsite with something for everyone. Advertised as wild camping, it has more amenities than you would expect.
It's very well situated with beaches and shops within a 20 minute car ride. If you don't want to drive, the path along the estuary is walking and cycling friendly. We walked to the George 3rd pub in half an hour. We stayed in the meadow. It was very hot with most of the shaded areas being too steep for pitching a tent. However, there is plenty of shade up in the woods which are a short walk away and there are plenty of hammocks dotted about.
The quickest path to the washrooms from the meadow could do with some work, lots of the stones are very wobbly, not a problem unless you are carrying your washing up. It was the height of the school holidays so the unisex bathrooms got very grubby very quickly, however, they were cleaned regularly. The food cooked onsite was delicious and priced on par with other restaurants/takeaways in the area.
The staff were very busy but very helpful if you wanted to ask questions. We will definitely visit again.
Beautiful! Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Absolutely loved our stay here. "Proper" camping! Stunning location and surroundings, with hidden beauty spots all over. We had a grass pitch but the woodland ones looked magical too. 10 min walk down the beautiful estuary straight from the site where we were lucky enough to see an otter.
I loved the relaxed vibe of the site, and people respectful of the no noise rules - no rowdy groups meant it was perfect for our small family trip. Bar was cute, staff all lovely and the pizza was delicious. I'll be booking into the spa for a massage next time.
We are already planning our next trip! Thank you team Cefn Coed - what a lovely spot you've created.
In the forest Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Aug 2026 Had a really good time at this site, the forest location was perfect for a little peace and quiet. The facilities were clean and the bar was excellent for a drink at night, we also ate at the bar which was very good, we cycled on the mawdach bike trail to Barmouth and also to Dolgellau which is close to the site. The george lll pub is close also and worth a visit. This site is highly recommended and will definitely booking again.
Fantastic stay! Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Jul 2026 Very magical place! Breath-taking views around. The pitch was amazing! Private, quiet and tranquil. The bar area and pizza was an awesome addition. Staff were great!
My only criticism is that for the size of the campsite, there isn't enough facilities. Campsite was very busy and only 3 showers and toilets.
I think for the price you have to pay there should be more because every time I went to the toilet there was a crowd of people. The facilities were very clean though. Also, parking was a bit stressful but it's only because it was very, very busy.
Lovely break away Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Jul 2026 Had a gorgeous 2 night Stay! Clean and tidy we will be returning..
Lovely, wild place Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 The location lovely.
However, the toilets and showers quite far, and mixed, with washing sinks where people were washing socks in the sink designated for dishes. In the morning, there was a big queue for the toilets as not many for the amount of people staying, was gents and ladies together. Which is another no for us.
We chose this especially for camp fire and BBQ, and when we got there there, these were suspended, and it would have been nice to be notified via email this was suspended, as not really prepared for only gas.
Lovely people and place, but facilities a bit disappointing.
Briliant place Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Jul 2026 Brilliant place for escape from city.
View are amazing. It's a quiet place, far from the noisy city. The only thing you might find fault with is the cleanliness of the toilets. If you're booking this woodland wild spot, just be aware of how large the area is. Apart of that is really worth it. Lots to visit around.
A magical escape Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Wooded Campervan Pitches Jul 2026 What a magical place to stay for a few nights.
A friendly welcome in arrival and having food on site was amazing when we arrived at 7:30pm. Food is delicious!
Pitch was lovely. Flat with a gravelled surface and surrounded by trees. Access to beautiful walks on the doorstep. Facilities were excellent, clean - at the top of the hill though, so if you have any mobility issues, this may be a consideration but for us not a problem at all. Would highly recommend!
Great place, second visit Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Amazing location, great atmosphere
Amazing setting! Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Amazing setting & friendly host. Highly recommended.
Woodland camping Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Jul 2026 We as a group of friends camped in the woodland tents only section and it was fantastic. Great location and it has everything you would need. I would highly recommend.
Lovely stay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Woodland Tent Pitches Jul 2026 Lovely, clean facilities and kind service! Felt really homely! Loved our woodland pitch, though I'm regretting not getting a fire pit as the mosquitoes enjoyed me!
Quiet and relaxing, pizza was great!
Nice Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Was a very nice campsite but a shame the facilities are right at the top of the hill and no clear water point, apart from the one pointed out to us at the top of the hill.
Back to nature Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Wooded Campervan Pitches Jun 2026 We had a forest campervan pitch, lovely, peaceful with greenery all around. Campfires allowed. We don't camp in a tent but if we did we would definitely come and have a forest pitch, they looked really cool. The walk to the estuary is lovely and a nice walk either way you turn. The pizzas and drinks from the on site woodland bar were great.
We are new to campervanning and are finding out which type of sites suit us and this is a definite plus.
