VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding Grass Touring Pitches Jul 2026 We had a great stay, the site is level, and we choose a grass pitch near the shower block. The pitches are a generous size. We had excellent local info from the Owner/Warden which was very helpful and very welcome. The Site is situated in a excellent location for exploring the area. We would recommend the site and we will return again when we are next in the area. Although we didn't use the fishing lake the fishermen certainly praised it and we did see a lot of fish being caught.

Small Tent - Hardstanding Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2026 This campsite was lovely. Spotless everywhere. The land was really well kept, very pretty. Peter was fabulous, rang us up as we were travelling, met us at the sight, showed us to our pitch, gave us a map and talked us through all we needed to know about York and public transport etc.
We will definitely be returning here, we only stayed for one night and there is so much more of York we need to see.
My husband also wants to try the Fishing lake out next time we go too.

Only one very tiny issue would be the showers in both female and male bathrooms, they are too hot and only stay on for a minute, then you have to keep pressing it to come on again, but if you can get into the disability toilet, the shower is amazing in there, so good 😊
Overall, would definitely recommend the campsite and will be back 😊

Twin Axle Caravan - Hardstanding Grass Touring Pitches Jun 2026 Site was lovely and clean. Plenty of room for ourselves the kids and our dogs. Nice for pitching awnings and wind breakers. The dog walk is a nice area and around the fishing lake was beautiful.
Peter was very friendly and informative. Would 100% stay again.

Large Tent - Hardstanding Grass Tent Pitches May 2026 Amazing stay at wagtail. Such a peaceful site. Very clean & tidy. Friendly owner that checked in on us to make sure everything was ok. Loved the fairy lights around the site. Was such a lovely personal touch. Also loved the designated dog walk. We can’t wait to come back & stay again. & will be recommending wagtail to all our friends & family.
