Brilliant

Stay in the hot tub pitch and had a great weekend, owner was very helpful loved every minute, defo going back.

Very good holiday

Well…all we can say is that it was the best holiday we have had for a very long time and it really made you feel as though you have had one on your lovely site .Views were stunning and the farm tracks you were able to walk suited everyone. Site is well maintained and has plenty of facilities should you wish to use them, with the added bonus of water and waste on your pitch something very useful when one gets to our age. Our plan is to re-visit the site later on in the year

Nice local site for us

Lovely site, well planned with great views and farm walks. Lovely pub 5 minutes walk away and the path is away from the road. Weather was the hottest this year.

Really lovely site

Booked last minute. Arrived earlier than planned but as we had our own choice of pitch. Were able to scout around and found an ideal pitch looking over the meadows and hills in the distance. To be fair, all pitches have a great view wherever you set up. Water on every pitch and hook-ups, so no bother there. The electricity is metered using £1 and £2 coins and there is a booth to get coins on the way in via notes or card, in the same hut as a new coffee dispensing machine! With 2 dogs, it was lovely to find a mowed farm path to walk around or to the local hostelry, The Red Lion. Sadly, this was undergoing refurbishment until next month. There were rudimentary shower and toilet blocks, plus an extra shower and wash room on our part of the site. The shower was better than at home! But there could have been more attention to the hygiene, some dust on shower seat and the mop was a bit old and tired. However, we were very happy with our two days stay at Welltrough and will certainly be visiting again, thank you.

Amazing place!

Couldn’t recommend this place enough! Nick & his team were incredible hosts & couldn’t do more during my stay here. The highland cows, alpacas, pigs, rabbits were such a soul warmer walking around seeing during the farm walk. All facilities were immaculate & the coffee / snacks vending machine was a bonus! And saving the best until last..What better way to start your day than having a morning coffee in the hot tub?! Thanks again Nick x

Perfect spot

A lovely campsite, which has everything you could wish for. We stayed for 1 night, on the way back from Scotland to Dorset. Really easy to get to from the motorway. Loved seeing the highland cows and llamas. Beautifully kept site. Great views. Would love to return.

1st timers

Stayed here for 1 night with our roof tent setup, and it was honestly the best introduction to camping. The site is beautifully quiet and peaceful — tucked away enough that you hear no road noise, just birds and the occasional rustle of leaves. Perfect for unwinding after a day out. The facilities are spotless and plentiful: hot showers that actually stay hot, plenty of toilets kept immaculately clean, and good water points nearby. Everything felt well-maintained and thoughtful. The real bonus? It's just a short, easy 10-minute walk to a lovely local pub serving great food and proper pints. Highly recommend — we'll definitely be back!

One night stay in March

Pleasant and welcoming site. Picked partly as it is an adults only site. Nick the owner was very patient with me on what was my first trip in a motorhome - helped me to sort the EHU.

Great site will be back

Lovely site and views, nice walk to the pub a lovely well kept site we will be back 😊 No fuss site, great to turn up and choose a pitch, also no on site check in etc. which we liked.

Lovely

Our first time here, we loved it. The dog walk was great and the pub was 10 minute walk away Everything was just lovely, I have no idea why others have said electric was expensive? We only put £2 in the meter for 2 nights! The Highland cows are stunning 💕 I highly recommend going here, no children which is nice! I will say that there are irresponsible dog owners that did not pick up their doggy doodles despite the owners asking you to! But we did pick up ours and other dogs doodles on our walk, so take extra dog doodle bags with you and help the farmer keep it clean!

Beautiful site and location

Beautiful location. Well kept site with a lot of investment already made, in terms of pitches and facilities, and ongoing works. It was a little confusing when we first arrived, to find the pitches we'd booked, but a combination of other 'campers' and Nick the Manager soon pointed us in the right direction.

Fantastic site

Excellent CL site. Great facilities. Sauna was amazing overlooking the Highland Cows 🤩 Beautiful views and pitches are large. Great pub Robinsons Red Lion within walking distance, and the food was outstanding. We will definitely be back.

Peaceful site in a good location

This was our first trip away in our new caravan. We found the site to be clean and well positioned for a peaceful break. We enjoyed the views of Jodrell Bank as well as walking our dog on the designated farm walk. The owner was very responsive when needed. We would visit again and would recommend to others.

Great site

Great site. All amenities well looked-after. Friendly staff. Site was quiet because it was January, but we had everything we needed. Very handy for major roads, several towns, and of course, Manchester.

Alpaca pod

Really enjoyed our stay at Welltrough Hall Farm, the pod was really clean when we arrived, most essentials were provided. It was nice, peaceful and overall a lovely place to stay for the weekend. People on site were easy to contact if we needed anything and were very helpful.

Beautiful views

Beautiful views across Cheshire and over to Jodrell Bank. Facilities were nice and clean and kept that way throughout the day. We were on pitch 22 which has the alpaca field surrounding it and they, along with numerous squirrels kept us entertained. We did have trouble with our water supply freezing but it was -5 at night, so can't be helped. We loved the peace and quiet and will definitely be returning.

Amazing

An absolutely amazing place, the staff was lovely and we did the 19th till the 21st in the Shepard's hut. I generally couldn't fault any part, the staff are 100 percent there if you need them and the hot tub was lovely, clean and warm. The hut was spotless inside and out, booked again for next year, great price.

Lovely views

Stayed there while visiting family in Macclesfield. A bit remote for us in future but a beautiful site overall. Facilities all lovely and clean and great communication from the owner giving loads of info. Well worth visiting.

Lovely peaceful site in nature

We stayed 2 nights, it was good not to have to check in at reception and go straight to finding a nice pitch. All pitches had lovely views. the alpacas and highland cattle were a bonus. There is a farm walk to take your dog. Good to have a car to travel to the local pub.

Nice site

Not a bad site, but you'll really need to be good at levelling your van.Take plenty of blocks and make sure your handbrake is good. Oh, and take lots of £1 coins as the electric is on a meter and expensive at 49p a K/W. I spent over £5 and only ran an oil radiator over 1 night and the water heater for shower periodically, as they were at the top of the hill. Won't be returning.

Thank you for your review, although disappointing. I do have extra large leveling blocks on site if you are struggling, most guests seem to manage. I do have a coin vending machine which takes banknotes or card, so no need to bring lots of coins. You are not correct on the meter rate, it's 39p/kwh which includes vat which is stated on your pre arrival email, you are only paying for what you use, oil radiators are expensive to use.
