About the site

Bakesdown is a beautiful 30 acre farm of small fields, big hedges and wild spaces. Each holiday space sits in a different, secluded field - choose from Gatekeeper, Brimstone, Speckled Wood. Brimstone and Gatekeeper each sit in a two acre field, and have large mown areas including a fire pit area, shower hut and compost toilet. These pitches both accommodate campervans and up to eight people. Speckled wood also offers a large mown area with fire pit site, private shower and compost toilet, but with the addition of a lovely, fully-equipped kitchen hut. All you need to stay here is your tent! The site has been managed for biodiversity since it opened, from low, hedges and over-grazed fields to the rambling green spaces that can be seen today. The meadows, mature trees and hedges here support a wide range of bugs, birds and small mammals. Listen out for the spectacular dawn and dusk chorus and look for the barn owl and bats hunting in the evenings. Each pitch has been carefully set within this nature space for a holiday that is comfortable, restorative and wild.
