So spacious and private. Incredible views of the countryside, night sky. Disconnected to reconnect

About the site

This is one of the only places in Dorset that offers a truly private group glamping experience. A small, family run business that aims for everything to be a little bit different and personal. If you love to stargaze, without any light pollution, you'll be spoilt here! Each site enjoys total privacy, is off grid, and sleeps groups of two,12, 12 and 15. The fully furnished Sawpits Wagon has its own private gas powered shower and toilet, a few steps away, together with the all-important hot tub! It's perfect for two to escape it all. Staying here positions you to witness both sunrise and sunset. Parsons Camp sleeps 12. Things get really quirky with a converted double decker bus sleeping four (in single beds), a bunk house and bell tent both sleeping four (in a double and two singles). Take a long soak in the wood-fired bath in the converted horse box bathroom. There are also two gas showers and a compost loo nearby. The kitchen is found on the top deck of the bus and includes a full gas cooker, solar powered fridge/freezer and every kitchen utensil you could think of. For groups requiring more space, there are two delightful yurt camps with soft beds and chic interiors. Brickles Yurts sleeps up to 12 across three yurts and has a spacious living yurt which offers an indoor cosy space for chilling out together and maybe playing a board game or two. Withybed site sleeps up to 15 across three yurts and includes a safari tent boasting comfy sofas, a dining table, books and boardgames. Both Brickles and Withybed have two gas powered showers, two flushing loos and an outdoor woodfired bath. Plus, they each have a gas cooker, solar powered fridge/freezer, BBQ and roaring campfire. Every kitchen utensil you can think of is provided! All bedding is provided but please bring your own towels and toiletries. There are 1800 acres on hand to explore, as well as the gentle countryside of Dorset, and the coast which is about an hour's drive away Dogs are very welcome across all the sites (for a small additional fee) but please don't let them sleep on the beds (which are renowned for being super comfy!)

Open from 5 April to 30 September.

A note from the site themselves...

The glamping journey at Stock Gaylard began in 2008 with Andrew and Josie—who, at the time, didn't even know what the word "glamping" meant! What started as two sites of three yurts has grown into four unique locations, evolved through years of "all hands on deck" family passion.

We've come a long way since the early days, while we now enjoy the comforts of heated gas-powered showers and solar powered fridge/freezers, one thing has never changed: our commitment to a proper bed. In fact, our yurts are handcrafted from our own Estate wood, and you'll find that many of the beds and coffee tables in your stay were grown and crafted right here on the land.

The glamping is now run by Andrew and Josie's son, Jack. Together with our dedicated team—many of whom have been with us for years—we are here to ensure your stay is as comfortable as it is memorable. We truly love sharing this corner of the world with everyone who visits.

The woods surrounding you have a deep history. Some carry "Ancient Woodland" status, while others were specifically planted 250 years ago by Harry Farr Yeatman, giving them "Veteran" status today. Each of our sites sits right on the edge of these woods—we encourage you to use the provided map and go explore the history for yourself.

Stock Gaylard Yurts is ideal for...
