Nice location and scenery
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Feb 2026 Lots of animals to see and a nice woodland walk. Good location and onsite cafe/shop.
Only negative thing was, the only available toilets weren't close and it was raining so got wet every time. Friendly host, will return.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Feb 2026 We had a lovely stay with Longthorns farm. We arrived late on our check in day and they were so understanding and greeted us at the gates. The family was so caring and sweet. We got absolutely drenched on our first night and they were so helpful offering to dry what we needed. We had lovely food in there cafe. The lady in the cafe was so friendly and sweet. She showed us a baby lamb that had just been born that morning. Despite our unlucky weather, we had a great stay. The site is also perfect for any animal lovers, I had the best time walking around all the animals on site (including a highland cow!!!!) Not only the animals they own but also is just a fields walk from Money world. Thank you for such a lovey stay.
Great site
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Feb 2026 Lovely site with really friendly people and awesome animals. Cafe was a big bonus, but the lack of showers was unfortunate.
Also being in a tent, we were surrounded by huge camper vans/caravans which made me wish there was a tent only field, which there may be in the summer instead of the winter, which is when we went?

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2025 Excellent site with the attractions of Monkey World next door and Bovington Tank Museum a few minutes drive away.
We go there twice a year to display at the Bovington South West Model Show and can honestly say that the owner could not be more friendly and helpful.

Not impressed Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Its not really for motorhomes, too many tents, lots of noise in the night with campfires, drinking and kids screaming until 11.30pm.
Would not stay there again, didn't get much sleep in the two nights we stayed but it is very convenient, If you're going to Monkey World, it's just 5 minutes walk.
Taking kids for first time
Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's Hut (Dog Friendly) Aug 2025 We stayed in one of the huts. Kids first time ever going glamping/camping and they absolutely loved it.
Played outdoors a lot, in a hub...enjoyed the food truck and Friday breakfast.
The team was super friendly and helpful. Kids were asking to stay longer, which I cant even say how surprised I was.
Good break but little noisey

But overall, it would not stop me going again

Lovely campsite
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 A wonderful 2 night stay at such a friendly and caring family run campsite, everything is thought of, mobile phone chargers to child friendly toilet seats! Clean shower and toilet block and everything in between including accessible outdoor freezer for ice blocks and a fridge! Indoor seating area with games in, food can be bought there and there is a lovely bar in a an old barn.
There are animals on the farm, Alpacas (that you can walk for a charge) which I have to say was amazing through the woods with Megan who was so friendly and knowledgeable. There is also guinea pigs, Shetland pony, pigs, sheep, rabbit and tortoises! And next to monkey world. Dog friendly with a woodland walk next to the campsite.
When not so dry and a fire risk off the ground fire puts allowed, we will definitely go back again! (oh there is glamping here too!)

The team there were very friendly and helpful. Loved seeing all the animals. I stayed here whilst doing the Jurassic Mighty Hike. So didn't get too much time to explore but I'll definitely be back with my family.
I stayed in a tipi, Had the best sleep both nights! Beautiful tipi perfect for a family of 4.

A wonderful place to stay
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 We had a fantastic stay at Longthorns.
The campsite was spacious, clean and the kids loved it. Even on a really rainy day, everyone was happy playing pool or visiting the animals around the farm. Feeding the lambs, piglets and holding chicks were massive highlights for us, too.
The owners were friendly, accommodating and took time out to chat to us and the kids to make our stay extra special. Absolutely fantastic site. Thank you.

Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 Honestly, the best camping trip! So much for the kids (and me) to do! Feeding pigs, giving lambs a bottle, holding baby chicks.
Waking up to monkeys and animals was just the best. Campfires, smores, BBQs.
Indoor bar and pool table and ping pong, best burger from the food dude van. Facilities are fine, showers hot, toilets clean. My kids had the best time! Thank you so much! We will definitely be back!

Wow!
Tipi or Wigwam - TipeeCo Tipis Apr 2025 Wow! What an amazing place to stay.
The location was great with the tank museum and Monkey World down the road. We stayed in a tipi, we forgot our duvet so a lady grabbed us some that we could borrow.
The staff are all so helpful, we spent some time talking to the girls about all the different animals on the farm. They were telling us the animals names and their personality types and how much they both loved their jobs and how lovely the family are that run the farm.
We would def stay here again, our 2 children loved the space and freedom to run around, see the animals and play some table tennis when they wanted too.
I would highly recommend staying here to anyone and everyone

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 My partner and I go camping quite often, this is definitely one of our favourite campsites we have ever been to! There are so many animals on site, so friendly and lovely!
The staff were so kind as well, we will be coming back later this summer!

Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's Huts Mar 2025 We enjoyed our stay at Longthorns in a shepherds hut. The site manager was personable, friendly and helpful. A little TLC is needed on the eco toilets, otherwise, all was fine.

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Dec 2024 A great place and the location was in a lovely environment. I couldn't get the showering facilities warm and the toilet block was freezing including taps. I ended up using my own shower, but not everyone has that luxury.
I would stay there again as the positives out number the negatives, thanks for a wonderful experience.
Quiet, calm, lots of cute animals
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Nov 2024 We arrived a bit early and after calling the number given, were told to pick whichever pitch we liked (off season so mostly empty, very nice) which was lovely. Big facilities with outdoor and indoor sinks for washing dishes as well as being hygienic. There are quite a lot of animals close to the pitch area which was wonderful for me to be able to watch them, but if anyone has allergies, I'd be cautious.
Pitches were good, even after some rain, and all the pitches had electricity. Good bins area, a bit far from any public transport as a whole, but for most people probably not an issue, very quiet and idyllic.
