Perfection at Birds and Bees

What can I say about Birds & Bees campsite, other than that it was everything that we wanted and more! This was our first camping trip away with our toddler, so we wanted somewhere that would give us our own space in a natural environment, whilst still having some home comforts close by. Birds and Bees ticked every box for us, and made our daughter’s first camping trip completely magical. Having a mown plot surrounded by wildflowers means that we had an informal ‘boundary’ so she could run around, without us having to worry that she was bothering those nearby. The facilities were clean and comfortable, and everything had a homely feel. Whilst the amenity block was a short walk up the hill, this means that no pitches are right next to it and so every plot is tranquil. There’s also a compostable ‘tree bog’ in the meadow we were in, so you could pop down there if needed. The honestly shop personifies the vibe of this place- take what you need from the supplies on offer and just make a note, and then you’ll be invoiced at the end of your stay. You’re trusted by James and Emma and treated like you are at home- and this trust helps make the place feel even more special. I could go on waxing lyrical about how much we loved this place, but to wrap this review up, I have one last thought. The fact that we got to sit out around a campfire, watching the sunset, and make s’mores with our daughter was truly priceless and was worth every penny of the pitch fee. We loved Birds and Bees and will be recommending it to all of our friends. We would love to come back- thanks so much James and Emma for your hospitality and the gift of your beautiful site!

Beautiful campsite

We’ve just had the most relaxing stay at Birds and Bees campsite and we think it was up there as one of the best we’ve stayed at… wonderful views, spacious, peaceful with really nice showers! Would really recommend

Best ever camping experience

Perfect site for solo camping!

Birds & Bees is perfect for anyone wanting to give solo camping a go. I'd been camping with my friends and family but never alone and felt safe and well looked after (but not hassled) the whole time. Facilities are great, fridge/freezer, kitchen area with microwave, kettle and even charging docs for phones etc. I kept things basic for my stay but you have the choice if you didn't want to live off tinned food all week! Toilets and showers clean and tidy. Even had an eco friendly tree bog which was helpful in the middle of the night! Lovely peaceful site, on the first night I had the whole place to myself then joined by another couple of campers but still was able to keep to ourselves. The site was about 20 minutes/half hour to a lot of places I wanted to visit so perfect location for me. Sutton Hoo, Rendlesham Forest, and Woodbridge all great places to explore. Extremely happy with this little place and all it has to offer, will definitely come back again when next exploring the area.

Fantastic campsite

Fantastic site, professionally run. Can get there by bike from Saxmundham train station.

Excellent place, superb thought through and managed

Nice "remote" pitches, clean showers, fridges etc. Strong on the honesty/trust type relationship between campers and owners which creates a good vibe. Fantastically quiet, good wildlife and a very accommodating and helpful owner. I'll be back.

Beautiful

A beautiful old fashioned tent-only site. Big secluded pitches and the best facilities I've come across. James was super helpful, moving me to a more sheltered spot out of the wrong winds.
