Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Came with my 9 year old son for 2 nights. Very basic but this is what appealed. Shower, wash up and toilet block were clean and looked after.
The views of the fells and the sunsets in the evening are stunning. Really recommend!

Unbelievable views
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Considering the price tag, you get a lot for your money here.
The pitches - all of the pitches are hill top and you have stunning views of the hills, mountains and sunrise from your tent. Unbelievable. There is also a huge open field next to the pitches that was great for letting the dog have a run and for playing outdoor games.
Facilities - two huge dishwashing sinks, 2 big shower cubicle areas and toilet block with plenty of loo roll and soap. All the usual webs and signs of wildlife as you'd expect, but the facilities were much better kept that I've seen on other sites.
The only thing I'd suggest to improve would be so maybe have some form of washing liquid dispenser by the pot washing if you want to make it even more convenient. Honestly, I have nothing to complain about and will definitely be back to this fantastic pitch.
Kendal was a short drive. We left the tent for a day in Windermere and nothing was missing on return. Great base.

Best thing is they allow you to have your own fire pit if raised off the ground which makes the nights cosy!

We were the only campers on site - might feel different if it was full (with over 40 pitches!)

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Really good site was the first time camping in Cumbria, would recommend it to anyone that wants a remote camp site, close to shops and pubs around a 10 minute drive.
Facilities also clean and cater for many people so not a lot of queue's. Site is very clean no rubbish and viewpoints upon the hill for sunsets and sunrises.

Ideal for all age groups and a good variety of pitch types. The facilities were very clean and the site looked well managed.
Tip: On the final approach, drive slowly so you don't miss the entrance like I did!
