We've stayed here at Little Acre a few times now, and we love it. Paul the owner goes above and beyond for everyone, and the site is kept impeccable. We go away in our caravan every week throughout the year no matter what the weather. This site always makes us feel like we have had a good break away from everyday life, and it's perfect for driving into Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale and over to the chippy in Arnside. A gem of a site.

Thank you Zoe for staying with us (again!) and leaving a lovely review on Campsites.co.uk. Here's to your next stay with us. Paul

The grey waste for Motorhomes could of been easier as there was no drive over point.
Site's response
Thank you for rating us as 5* and recommending us on Campsites.co.uk, Nigel. We're actively looking to create a drive over point for MH grey waste, but with us not being on mains drains, we'd need to create a "soakaway" and finding a suitable place to locate one which complies with all regulations is proving to be challenging! Enjoyed our stay. Site kept clean and tidy. Only thing that lets it down is there are not enough toilets or showers at the moment but new ones almost open. Staff very helpful.
Site's response
Thank you for staying at Little Acre and recommending us to others via campsites.co.uk, David. We are now within days of our new shower, loo, washup and laundry block opening and once opened, our shower and loo capacity doubles. Until that happy day, we're still operating with the 2 existing shower and loo blocks - one of which was at the opposite side of the site from you and you may not have discovered it whilst you were with us. Safe driving, Paul.

Great little place with great staff. Only thing is need 20p's with you for shower and I felt they need two more showers and one more toilet. Apart from that, it was fantastic
Site's response
I'm glad that your stay with us worked out well, Alex. Yes, you do need 20p's for the showers and we also offer complimentary shower gel, conditioner, shampoo, hairdryers and heated mirrors to use. As well as the shower/loo block that you used, there is also another shower and loo block that I suspect you didn't discover - plus, in the next few days, we're opening a new shower, loo, laundry and washing up area, which will double our capacity at Little Acre. It would be lovely to host you again in the future. Paul.

Perfect little site for one night just to break the journey up. Loved how it had a pub just across the road.
Site's response
We have a lot of people doing exactly as you do, Kirsty - with being 1 mile from M6 Junct 36, having a pub across the road and the Lancaster Canal towpath to walk along, staying with us as a stopover works really well. Paul

We picked this site for our first van holiday, as it had electric hook-up and wasn't too far from home. It's a lovely well looked after site with clean, modern washing facilities with shampoos, body wash and even washing up liquid provided! Scenic walks along the canal and pub close by if you don't want to fire up the BBQ! Owners were very helpful with any queries and also had a selection of outdoor games available to borrow to give the teens a break from their screen's 🤣 will stay again.
Site's response
Thank you for choosing us on your pioneering campervan trip, Elizabeth - it will be lovely to host you again in the future when you are campervan veterans! Paul

Lovely little site, with very friendly owners and nice guests. Great little walk along the canal and pub just a short walk away. The toilets were lovely and clean with nice little touches of cotton wool/earbuds and air fresheners etc. I didn't see a pot wash facility so we just washed up in the van but think there may have been one near the camping area. My niece loved running around and feeding the cows in the field next door. Wish we'd booked for 2 nights, we'd definitely visit again.
Site's response
It was lovely to host the 2 of you Jenny and I'm glad that you enjoyed the bits and pieces that we provide onsite. Yes, we do have a washup facility onsite and yes, it is sited near the tent field (the furthest point from you!). When you return, you'll be able to use the new loo, shower, washup and laundry facilities. Paul

We were looking for a stopover to break up our journey from Wales to Scotland and this was a great stop. It is just off the motorway and right beside a canal with walking/cycle tracks. We also loved that it was a couple minutes walk to the pub/restaurant Crooklands where we enjoyed a drink outside on the first night and a delicious meal on the 2nd night. Great for WiFi and very friendly staff.

Thank you for staying with us and leaving a lovely review, Sheena. Paul

Love this little site, close enough to the M6, for a perfect stopover. Paul is really nice and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. I also loved the extra touches in the ladies toilets, like cotton buds and cotton pads. Will definitely be back.

Lovely little site, very close to canal walk. The site is very clean and the facilities very good too, with new facilities also being built (nearly completed). Very friendly welcome on arrival and great advice on local attractions. The site is near the Crooklands Hotel but you need to pre book for a meal. There is a Texaco garage with within walking distance for essentials but apart from that, you need to travel for shopping. There is a bus stop near the Crooklands, so access to public transport. All in all, a nice place to stay for a couple of days, thank you.

Lovely little site, Paul was very pleasant and friendly when we arrived. Toilets were clean and 20p for a 3-minute shower, ample time for a hot shower. Plenty of walks near the site and a bus service to Kendal and Kirby Lonsdale is 5 mins walk from the site. Would definitely recommend to friends and we will return again.

Lovely site, still being developed. Paul, the owner goes out of his way to make his guests welcome. The showers are good value for money for 20p. Lovely and hot with toiletries supplied. The best shower of our two-week break. Our dogs loved their walk along the canal. The Crooklands hotel is next door, very busy so best to book in good time if a meal is required. The site is handy when travelling north or south as it is only a few minutes away from the M6. We only stayed one night on our way home, but we were so impressed by the site that we plan to book a longer stay in the future.
Site's response
I'm glad that your stay at Little Acre worked out so well for you, Marilyn. When you come next time the freshly laid turf will have taken and the shower/loo & laundry block will be completed and operational. Paul

Well cared for site with friendly owners who are currently making a few improvements with a new toilet block and some landscaping. It's in a great position to visit the many lovely towns and villages in Cumbria and the Lakes. Two excellent eateries nearby...the Crooklands Hotel is literally 200 yards from the site, but you must book as it gets very busy. The Plough is a short drive and the food was top-notch and reasonably priced.
Site's response
Thank you for staying with us Lynn and leaving such a lovely review. It's good to read that the Plough at Lupton is in good form - when the Crookies is full, I can point people in the direction of the Plough! Paul
