Excelllent experience

Very friendly people at the reception. A beautiful, close to the lake, campsite with excellent sanitary facilities. The pitches are enormous. The rental caravans are far away from the camping fields, so you get the real camping experience. We had booked two nights but wanted to stay longer. Unfortunately, the campsite was fully booked. The owner took me in his car to show me an 'overflow' pitch. There we stayed for another 4 wonderful nights, quietly. Had a nice evening with the neighbours, drinking and eating together. Some simpler sanitary facilities at this field, but excellent hot shower. Don't hesitate, book this campsite. You won't regret it.

Great price

Nice, friendly site. Cheerful staff and nice clean bar only metres away. Would go back. Fantastic price compared to club sites.

Happy campers

Toilets could of been cleaner. Ran out of toilet rolls in all toilets and was refilled later in day. Perhaps a 12 midnight curfew on using hand dryers as we were pitch 1 and could hear them all night. Other campsites we have been to do this. Showers were lovely but overall very nice.

First camping experience

This was our first camping experience. Whereas we have rated it highly as the campsite is quiet and lovely, what spoilt the experience is that we booked because there was a lake, but the warning on the lake meant we could not use our kayak, which is ridiculously expensive to pay for the permit to use our own. But, we decided not to risk the warning, so our teenage son had nothing of interest to do. We made up things to do, but not what we had planned for him to do. If we were aware that the lake had a warning, we would not have booked at this campsite.

It's great to hear that you enjoyed the campsite and your first camping experience. Unfortunately, during your stay there was some blue green algae present in the lake, as a result paddle boarding and water-skiing were suspended. All other activities were still possible on the lake, including using your own kayak, which costs £10.50 for the day if you are camping with us. The lake is now testing clear of blue green algae and would love to have you come and visit again.

Idyllic Location/Campsite with Plenty of Activities for all

We recently stayed at Lakeside Campsite, despite the unpredictable weather, we had a lovely weekend break camping and will definitely return. The location is beautiful, there are plenty of activities on and off site for all to enjoy. I was also impressed with the service provided by staff before and during our stay. Prior to checking in, I contacted the reception team, at short notice, they were able to amend and allocate us a plot located closer to the amenities (this was obviously subject to availability). During our stay I enquired at the café whether there was anywhere I could use a hair dryer and they were helpful, giving me advice on where I could do this. Finally, when we were all packed up and ready to check out, our car battery had failed, and the reception and management team were very helpful and quick to assist. The restaurant and bar staff were also helpful, the children and parents appeared to enjoy the mini disco services. We would definitely recommend Lakeside to families or anyone interested in water based activities. To summarise; excellent service and facilities in idyllic surroundings for couples, single people/groups and families'. Thank you for a lovely weekend, Emma and Lee xxx
