Our stay VW-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches (Medium) Aug 2023 We were allocated pitch 61 and on arrival, the site was quiet. Once we set up, we then realised we were next to a play area for children, which we found noisy. Being next to the toilets, the area was too busy for us.
We would certainly come back if we had the choice to select a pitch away from the children's play area. We found the pitch we were allocated was very good, however, my preference would be to be along the tree line or pitch 60.

Next time you book you can leave a special request saying whereabouts you would prefer on the site, and we will always do what we can to accommodate this request. We hope to see you again soon.
Clean and quiet
Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches (Medium) Aug 2023 We really liked the site - very quiet considering the size.
We just found that there were not enough nearby walks for the dogs as the road to Abbotsbury is quite dangerous (no footpaths) and the other option - through the campsite. This started well, but was then so overgrown that we couldn't continue.
Lovely farm shop nearby and good pub.

There are many walks from the village Portesham, and an alternative walk along the old railway track to Abbotsbury. Reception would have been able to give you any more information you need. Excellent facilities
VW-Type Campervan - Super Grass Pitches (Large) Aug 2023 The facilities at this site were exceptional! Really well maintained and a well thought out way of offering items to buy without having a shop. This is why I only scored 3 for service as there were no staff manning the vending service.
My only criticism of the site was the occupants. My family and I only stayed 1 night but not one of us got a "good morning/evening" or even much of a smile.

Thank you for the review. The staff at reception monitor the vending machines and are on hand if there are any issues. If after reception hours, there is a number on the reception window to call if required.
Staff will always give you a greeting, but we do not have any control over the site occupants. We hope that you will visit us again.

Large Tent - Super Grass Pitches (Medium) Aug 2023 Brilliant campsite in a great location to travel to Weymouth beach and local attractions, with lovely views and well looked after pitches and facilities! Nicest facilities I've seen at a campsite, cleaned regularly and such a peaceful site.

Wonderful, clean and spacious site
VW-Type Campervan - Super Grass Pitches (Large) Aug 2023 An immaculately clean site with lovely big pitches set far apart. Quiet & peaceful, but still good for children. Lovely location close to the beach & rural Dorset.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Standard Grass Pitches (Medium) Jul 2023 Excellent place to visit, very clean and very friendly customer service. Plenty to do if you have dogs with walking areas, would definitely go back again.

Camping in Portesham
Medium Tent - Semi Serviced Grass Pitches (Medium) Jul 2023 Great campsite, with very clean toilet and shower facilities. Brilliant campsite and area guide given at arrival. All staff were very friendly and helpful.
My only slight criticism is unless you bring your own windbreaks, you have hardly any privacy. We found other campers just walking across our pitch, even though the guides ask you not to. Other sites we've stayed at have a hedge to stop this.

A lovely site!
VW-Type Campervan - Semi Serviced Hardstanding Pitches (Medium) Jun 2023 What a little gem! Lovely located site with small milk/coffee/ice-cream stations. Local shop 2 minutes walk away. The pub is an extra minute away!
Fantastically clean facilities.
And the sun shone. Perfectly located for the Jurassic coast, although we left the van parked up and walked into Abbotsbury (30 minute flat walk).
