Large Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4) May 2025 The site was brilliant. The facilities were great and had lots for the kids. We enjoyed seeing (and hearing) the peacocks and visited the alpacas too. It was a perfect spot to explore Matlock and the surrounding area.
I'd say if you don't like live music at night at the weekends (not sure if it's every weekend or at particular times of the year) then, perhaps not for you, but everything was done and dusted by 10:30pm. We loved it.
Brilliant facilities Recommends site
Medium Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2) May 2025 We have stayed at Barn Farm several times now. The facilities are always clean and well looked after. There are lots of high quality food and drink vans. Excellent bands at night. Lovely walks, great pubs close by.
We always have a great time. The teens feel safe and enjoy the arcade and pizza vans. Great for all ages.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) May 2025 Really enjoyed the weekend. Good for kids to run and let off steam, while parents can watch from a distance. Plenty of good walks in the area.
Excellent stay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) May 2025 Excellent stay at Barn Farm. The toilets always had loo roll, bins around the camp were regularly emptied and never had to queue to wash up. Loved the bank holiday entertainment in the evening. I would say one of the best sites we have stayed at, we shall come back, thank you very much.
Very good visit to Barn Farm Recommends site
Medium Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4) May 2025 We had a really good stay at Barn Farm over May half-term.
We received a very friendly greeting at reception. The toilet facilities were excellent, even with the Duke of Edinburgh groups stopping over. The shop was well stocked. You can leave food in the fridges and freezers in the games room. You can buy food at the pizza van and other pop-up shops and drinks at the mobile pub - The Horse & Jockey. The prices were certainly reasonable.
On two nights of our stay there was music in the barn until 10:30pm. The views from our tent were fantastic - the only slight issue here however is that you are sleeping on a bit of a slope. There is a great circular walk to The Nine Ladies Stone Circle undertaken by following a foothpath which is immediately adjacent to the campsite. We stopped for a drink at the Druid's Inn in Birchover (5 minutes from the site) on the way back, and that was very pleasant.
There were a couple of peacocks roaming around freely and alpacas in a field at the campsite's entrance.
Barn Farm appears to organise lots of events and things to do such as bouncy castles, zorbing (£5 for 10 minutes) etc. All in all - so long as you can deal with the slope (and it wasn't too bad) - it was an excellent campsite and we had a really good time.
Great site Recommends site
Medium Tent - Large Overflow Field Pitches (Field 2) May 2025 Great campsite and the live bands make for an enjoyable evening. The showers and toilets were always clean.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) May 2025 First stay here and will not be the last.
The staff are friendly and welcoming. The facilities are fantastic, the fields are big and well kept. The showers are lovely and warm with cleanliness you see on very few sites.
Lovely, peaceful spot with plenty of walking direct from the site but not too far a drive to many more! Loved it!
Lovely stay Recommends site

Really couldn't fault the place at all.
Amazing place Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) May 2025 Brilliant campsite. It's on my list of campsites to return to and hopefully often.
It's in a great location and reasonable driving distance to many of the fantastic villages and many walking routes out of the campsite is a bonus. It's great for the kids. There is a play area and games room.
The games room requires silver to play the games on offer and their is a large field, with enough distance from the other fields, that is dedicated to DofE groups. There were many of them, but it didn't dampen the atmosphere or the quiet campsite.
I'll be returning to Barn Farm soon!
Camping Recommends site
Large Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4) May 2025 The kids enjoyed it.
Camping trip Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Field 1) May 2025 It's in a nice location, lots of walks to do and a couple of pubs within walking distance. The DofE kids are genuinely no bother at all you barely see them around the campsite. It's a busy campsite in general plenty of bricks for BBQ use.
It's on a vertical hill though, not a slight slope at all and the peacocks are so loud and constantly making noise. Other guests make noise all night long, it's so annoying so would be good if the site had security patrol and stop people screaming or playing music
Lovely long weekend Recommends site
Medium Tent - Family Playground Field Non Electric Pitches (Field 4) May 2025 Lovely campsite in a great village with stunning views. Really good facilities, including a shop and communal fridge.
Will definitely be returning soon!
Great stay Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 Always a pleasure to stay here. Great location and good facilities.
The next camping field to us was full of young people doing Duke of Edinburgh award. Lovely to see young people enjoying themselves, we found all students polite and friendly.
Weather great whilst we were there, so ice cream van was an inspired idea.
Touring caravan stay Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 The site is reasonably located, to visit a number of places, such as Bakewell, Matlock and Chatsworth House. There are also a number if walks you can do from the site. The staff are very friendly and available to help when necessary.
The site appears to be well used for the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and at times there must have been 80+ students there. All well behaved and no noise, but this means the washrooms can be very busy at peak times.
Be careful when using sat nav with a touring van as there is a very narrow road close to the village.
Good location twixt Matlock and Bakewell Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches May 2025 Full stars says it all, will keep returning while able.
