Birthday treat

Lovely site, clean, friendly with good facilities, we’ll be back! There’s a nice walk to the pub/shops and it’s convenient for many interesting places. The site was really well looked after. There was a mix of couples, families and groups, it really suits everyone.

Good clean site

Good location of site for access to New Forest. Site is well maintained. The only thing that was disappointing was the lack of easily accessible drinking water points to the grass electric pitches. It would be useful to have taps at the end of each row of pitches. Failing that a water point with pull in for motorhome to top up, without obstructing roadway. I should imagine during the high season the site could get noisy during the evening as very much a family site with dogs permissible.

Weekend stay for hiking getaway

Lots of space with well maintained facilities. A great circular dog walk adjacent to the campsite that also leads to the village.

Beautifully well kept site with great staff

This park is immaculately kept and the pitches are a good size - even for a twin axle. Check in online is quick and pain free. The staff are lovely and happy to help. The location is lovely if a little remote but it is in the New Forrest area, so you would expect that! Within walking distance to a nice pub and a local shop, so what more do you need! We really enjoyed our stay.

Good quality site in quiet location

This is a good quality site in a quiet location close to the New Forest. Convenient for Salisbury and the coast. Easily accessible with a caravan. We stayed on a grass serviced pitch which was level, although well used and quite bare of grass after the summer season. We noted some pitches were sloping, although all seemed a good size. Overall, our stay was very pleasant although a large 'encampment' near us were quite noisy at night.

Lovely quiet site

Lovely quiet, clean site, plenty of privacy for each pitch. Toilets and showers are clean. Used it as a base to travel, visited lots of places, Milford-on-Sea has a lovely walk if you have dogs, plenty of pretty little towns like Lymington and Ringwood, we even went to Southampton and saw the cruise ships! Didn't need to use the site shop so can't comment on that. All in all, a lovely friendly clean site.

Not a very lucky holiday

Unfortunately, this wasn't a very lucky holiday for us. Firstly, we had a full week and a bit of rain. Then a broken windscreen and noisy wheel bearing. Followed by battery problems, so had the AA out. The roads were very narrow for a motorhome, had the wing mirrors clipped twice. Other than that, the area was absolutely beautiful, there was plenty to see and do, but it did mean a bit of travelling. The site was nice, but wouldn't have wanted to spend all my time there. The site was kept clean, but felt that it was lacking, should have had more to do and see on site. With a small amount of investment, they could have had places for a bit of pampering, and a place to eat and a proper shop to purchase things from. But this was a clean and friendly site.

Fantastic first stay at Hill Cottage Farm

Having never camped before, I didn’t know what to expect however, I wasn’t disappointed and it won’t be my last. The website was easy to navigate and the site sent plenty of informative information via email prior to our arrival. I felt well informed and was able to organise myself and my two children well in advance. The site was dead easy to find and was well signposted. Thanks to the information sent prior to arriving, navigating our way to our pitch was simple too. Once set up, we took a little stroll and found all the amenities we needed to complete our camping trip, close by; clean washing up facilities, toilets and showers plus laundry room with a very handy chest freezer which was free to use. A big thank you to Juliette who served me in the shop; she answered my questions professionally and politely and, exercised first class customer service when she came to my aid with a nail file! Thank you Juliette. Although I have nothing to compare it with, I’d give the site 10/10 for our experience and we will definitely be returning.

Lovely site, great location and good facilities

We had a lovely holiday at this site. We came with 2 dogs so found the dog walking path very helpful. Good shops close by and not far to drive into the New Forest and beaches. Staff were really helpful when we changed our booking slightly. The site and facilities were kept really clean. We are definitely planning on returning to this site. A suggestion, it would be lovely to be able to pre order croissants/cakes/fresh bread at the shop for collection the next day.

Great campsite, with lots to do around the area!

Park was well set up and clearly signed. Tent pitches are large- great size! Well maintained pitches. Toilet facilities were in good condition, though did think it would have been good if there was an additional clean during the day. Or signs up asking people to clean up showers/basins after using. As if you timed it wrong, there would be left with toothpaste eventually white and soap mess in showers, with dirty feet marks all over.

Excellent

A great location with fab surroundings, local walks, pubs and coastline a short drive away. We stayed here 8 nights. A clean and tidy site, toilets and showers were always clean. Grounds were tidy and well looked after. The only reason I didn't give a five star for facilities was the 'park' was good, but a little investment in a new updated one would make it super duper. The fishing lakes were great for afternoon fishing.

Lovely campsite

Lovely family friendly campsite. We stayed in the shepherds hut, which was perfect for me and my two children. Fantastic location to visit Dorset, Hampshire and the New Forest.

Nice campsite

Nice site with wide areas. However, we were not aware of the coffee shop or shop until we opened their website - the day before we were leaving! There was no signage and we didn't see a single member of staff, so this information wasn't relayed to us. The facilities are good and clean but it would have been nice to have seen a member of staff!

Thank you for your review, Rachel - and for mentioning the size of the pitches and the facilities being good and clean. With reference to your other comments, we do have a very large sign outside of the main facilities building showing 'Reception & Shop' and a swing sign showing when the shop is open or closed - we have up to 6 staff on site all day everyday maintaining the facilities, keeping the grass and hedges trimmed, the toilets cleaned and refreshed and manning the shop and reception - some days the shop and reception are open until 11pm. We are sorry that you didn't locate the shop and reception, as all of this information was included in your 'self check-in/information email' so that you were able to drive directly to your pitch and then explore at your leisure. We do hope that you will return in the future and will benefit from all of the facilities we have to offer. The Hill Cottage Farm Team.

Summer Holiday

Small site, family orientated and dog friendly, very nice people. Facilities are cleaned regularly. The pitch was big easy to set up and parking the car. 30 minutes to the beaches, easy access. Nice and green area and quiet. Highly recommended.

A lovely campsite!

This was our first experience in our new caravan. The site was clean and the staff were friendly. The woodland walk was great and my dog and children really enjoyed it there. The only thing I'd suggest as a possible improvement is that the play area could be bigger. There is limited equipment and quite often my children didn't get a turn. A few more items in the park would have made the whole experience perfect.

An excellent site

Site was well maintained and had up to date facilities. Toilets were clean and showers were good with constant hot water. The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. The site was in a location within 2 mins drive of Fordingbridge and it has a lovely river where you can paddle in. It was 5 mins drive from New Forest and all surrounding towns are within 30 to 40 mins drive so excellent location. The small shop on site did basics but was a nice addition to the site. This often stayed open until 11pm at night. Plenty of walks around the area. On site, there was an information room with leaflets on things to do in the area as well as printouts of walks and cycle rides. We will definitely recommend and will hope to go back in the near future . This site catered for everyone including children with a small children's play area.
