About the site
Located just outside of the small village of Acomb, and with panoramic views over the Tyne Valley and Pennine peaks, this peaceful campsite is a great option for campers seeking a no-frills getaway in nature. It's in a perfect location to explore Northumberland, with easy access to the A69, and both Hadrian's Wall and the North Pennines National Landscape, both a ten minute drive away. The site offers unmarked non electric grass pitches for tents in a spacious field overlooking the Tyne Valley, with pitches measuring 5m by 4m. There are also non electric touring pitches for campervans and motorhomes with views of the Pennines. These pitches measure 7.4m by 6m and are based on gravel and astroturf. There are also a further three roof tent pitches measuring 6m by 6m, also based on gravel and astroturf. The touring pitches are divided by woven willow screenings for privacy and come with private log seating areas or picnic benches, and the pitches are split into both adult only and family friendly areas. Awnings and gazebos are allowed on site, however, these are at an additional cost. From exploring the historic town of Hexham (ten minutes away) to visiting the Salmon Ladder on the River Tyne, there's plenty to explore locally. The site is also just off the 72 Cycle Route for off-road adventures. Further afield, Northumberland National Park and Newcastle are both under half an hour. BBQs are permitted as long as they are raised from the ground and are used in the designated areas. Campfires are permitted in the fire pit grills available for hire at the reception.
