Set at the top of the Mendip Hills AONB, The Gurt Yurt enjoys gorgeous countryside views amongst peaceful surroundings. Your family and dog friendly yurt is spacious with proper beds made up with Egyptian cotton linen, and there is even a private veranda and fire pit to soak up the scenery. You'll have access to a meadow with a hammock so you can watch as wild deer roam past. Cheddar is ten minutes away and is full of walks, pubs and more!

Really couldn't have been better. The setting is beautiful and secluded. The yurt was comfortable and well-equipped; it had everything we needed to eat drink and relax across the weekend. Tim, the owner, was amazingly hospitable, warm and helpful. Every detail had been thought through. We would definitely stay again.

Gurt Yurt is a gem! After driving up the steep and very bumpy approach road (it’s worth it!), we arrived to a complementary bottle of prosecco and pressed apple juice! Tim and Sara are welcoming and friendly and really go the extra mile to ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The yurt is secluded and offers great views. The beds were comfortable and the woodfire stove kept the chill away. The shower (good pressure) and compost toilet (no offensive odour) were modern and clean. Tim and Sara have rescued battery hens (that the kids got to handle) and an apple orchard (which we sampled). As a bonus, the kids even learnt to drive a tractor! One of the highlights of our holiday.

We had a lovely time in the Gurt Yurt- 2 adults and 2 children (7 and 13). The location is perfect- you feel as though you are in the middle of nowhere, yet everything you need is not far at all. We had a couple of lovely days out as well as spending a couple of days at the site. Tim was a brilliant host- he checked in enough to make sure we had everything we needed and gave us advice on where to head when we asked, but otherwise left us to our own devices so that we could enjoy the place! We took 2 dogs with us and they enjoyed it just as much as the rest of us! The yurt had plenty of space for us all and wasn't cramped in the slightest- we found it to be very family friendly. We have since recommended to friends who have booked to come soon, and hope to come back ourselves as well!

Absolutely amazing stay! Both me and my partner were really happy with everything! The host, Tim, was everything you could ask from a host, showing us around the yurt and surrounding field, very helpful and kind. He even gave us some fresh eggs from his own chickens. Lovely views and even saw a deer.

The yurt was excellent and had everything we needed as a family with children aged 5 and 12. The meadow in front of the yurt and the views were what made the site extra special. Perfect place to relax. The children enjoyed playing there and loved the campfire at night. The owner Tim was super helpful and couldn't have done more to help us. Highly recommended.

Gurt Yurt is a lovely place to stay. It is a very spacious yurt (plenty of room for our family of 2 adults and two older kids) which is nestled into the trees in a secluded green, grassy area. Lovely views. Lovely peaceful solitude. The yurt is extremely well equipped; everything we could possibly have needed was provided, and it very nicely furnished. Everything is very clean, including loo and shower with hot water. Hosts were super nice.

We had a wonderful stay at the Gurt Yurt. Such a beautiful and private location with only owls and deers for neighbours. The yurt and washroom were spotless and the host very friendly. We even got fresh eggs.
