Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesAug 2025

Lovely little campsite within walking distance of Totnes. We were surrounded by nature and kept entertained by the alpacas. Nice little touches such as a kettle and fridge, map books and recommendations and very clean facilities. Highly recommend.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Campervan PitchesJul 2025

We chose this site as it was an easy drive into Totnes. We found upon arrival there was an enjoyable and quiet 2 mile walk into town through lanes and tracks which was perfect. There was also a track into the village which has a lovely pub and the best sticky toffee pudding. The site itself was so peaceful despite being near a main road. It's an adult only site. The pitch was big enough for a van and awning. The grass was short and the area tidy. There's a posh bathroom with toilet, sink and bath with shower over. At the front of the barn there is a separate toilet with sink on the outside and an electric shower which was a tad chilly even turned to the hottest setting. The kitchen area has seating, a kettle, toaster, microwave, hot plate and hot and cold water for dish washing. The owners are friendly and attentive. The site has a variety of animals. Alpacas, a goose, ducks, chickens, Toby the terrier and a pond full of fish. Altogether a fab place to stay. We will definitely stay again.

Great location accessible for walkers

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesMay 2025

I was initially worried that this would require a walk along a hazardous main road (the bridge to Littlehempston odd controlled by a rare breeds farm and steam railway). But Philip, the owner, explained that a dirt track via the Paignton Road joined with the site. The place is quiet and had hot water and a kitchen area. Well-spaced tent pitches and campervan sites, plus a couple of tipis. Alpacas on site and fowl. Friendly and helpful owners who are not intrusive but knowledgeable if you need advice.

Lovely site

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Campervan PitchesOct 2024

We were delighted with our booking as it was the end of the season. We were the only ones on site and it was lovely. The location is great, walkable to Totnes. It is a country walk. The facilities are fab, so many things have been thought of. There are two lovely pubs within a short country walk and the llamas are very cute. We would like to thank our hosts for making our first trip away in our van so special 😍

Tipi or Wigwam - Tipi TentsAug 2024

Gatcombe Park Farm was absolutely lovely. It was easy enough to find, and the tipi we stayed in was gorgeous. The bathrooms were great & clean, and the little kitchen area was incredibly helpful. Even when we wanted a bit more firewood, Phil was kind enough to bring it over on short notice. Also Toby, the farm dog, was a highlight for my husband. Would definitely recommend, and may even stop again one day!

Amazing stay at Gatcombe Park Farm - highly recommend!

Tipi or Wigwam - Tipi TentsAug 2024

We had the most fantastic 3-night stay at Gatcombe Park Farm in August, and I can’t rave enough about it! We stayed in one of the tipis, and it was absolutely stunning. Waking up to the views of the farm, especially during sunrise, was such a peaceful and beautiful experience. The outdoor kitchen area was a game-changer – fully equipped with a microwave, toaster, little cooker, fridge freezer, and even a dining table. It made our camping experience so much more convenient. The bathrooms were also a pleasant surprise, super clean and well-maintained. One of the highlights of our stay was Phil, who kindly brought us firewood free of charge. Such a thoughtful touch! The farm animals, especially the alpacas, peacocks, and chickens, added so much charm to the place. Watching them roam around the farm was a delight, and you can even buy fresh eggs – a perfect touch for breakfast. The only suggestion I’d make is maybe adding a sign for the luxury shower and bathroom to remind people it’s available after 9:30 AM. A few campers were using it earlier, so we had to wait a bit. But honestly, that’s a minor thing compared to everything else. Overall, if you’re looking for a relaxing, nature-filled getaway with amazing views, lovely animals, and great facilities, Gatcombe Park Farm is the perfect spot. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking to camp in style!

Idyllic, apart from the road

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesJul 2024

We stayed here for two nights in July, it's a lovely campsite with nice views and farm animals including alpacas to entertain you. The facilities (bathroom, toilet, kitchen) are excellent and clean. The pitches are reasonably sized although for a tent capacity greater than 4 you may stick out a bit - this didn't seem to be a problem though. The location has its advantages and disadvantages - it is a nice 30 minute walk into Totnes, and also has a couple of pubs within walking distance (we went to the Pig and Whistle and the food was fantastic - good portion sizes and really tasty). However, you do have to cross a fairly nerve-wracking A-road on a bend immediately outside the campsite to walk to Totnes. On that note, the campsite is right next to the A-road so the quiet of the countryside is punctuated by moderately loud traffic. Overall, I really enjoyed staying at Gatcombe and would recommend it, so long as you're not looking for the last word in peace and quiet.

We loved our stay here

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesJun 2023

We were meeting family in Torquay so needed a campsite near, we happened to come upon it when searching, and so glad that we did. We were greeted by the owner, a lovely young man, he showed us where we were to pitch our tent, then showed us the facilities. The bathroom was very quirky, a free-standing bath with a shower then also a long sink. There was hand soap and plenty of loo roll. There was an outdoor kitchen which the owner had made, it had a microwave, toaster and a little cooker. It also had a fridge freezer and a dining table. We purchased some fresh eggs and had them for breakfast. There were 3 tipis on site also, which we were allowed to see. There are Alpacas, Peacocks, Chickens, Cockerels, and 2 beautiful dogs. We will definitely be coming back to this amazing place, which is only 20 minutes from Torquay. Thank you for a fabulous weekend xxx

Brilliant site, so close to Totnes. There's a great pub (Tally Ho) under 10 minutes walk. Great views. The facilities are basic but very clean and easy to use - the shower was great. The Alpacas stole our hearts and it was a pleasurable experience all round. No negatives whatsoever.

Site's response

Thank you for your kind review. Just so you're aware next time, as I think you missed it, there is a lovely, luxury shower and toilet room available after 9.30am once the tipi tents have finished. This was all in the welcome pack and email I sent you and as the tipis were not used on your stay- you had full use at any time. You were using the extra camping shower.
