Medium Tent - Non Electric Brocks' Paddock Pitches Aug 2025 Stayed in brooks paddock. Really nice quiet location. Toilets and showers were fine.
Scenic with few surprises Recommends site
Large Tent - Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Aug 2025 First camping trip at Dunn Street Farm - scenic with few surprises.
We chose Dunn Street Farm for our very first camping trip, drawn by its promise of a peaceful rural setting in the Kent countryside. The location certainly delivers on scenery — rolling hills, fresh air, and plenty of open space for children to run around. It's a working farm, so sheep, cattle, and horses surround you, adding to the countryside charm.
During our stay, it was quite windy, and the kids were excited to fly their kite in the open field. Unfortunately, this turned into a small point of tension when a lady approached us to say the nearby horses were getting scared by the kite. We were not aware this could be an issue, and while we understand the concern for animal welfare, the situation could have been handled more helpfully, perhaps by providing this information upfront in the site rules or welcome notes.
Another disappointment was the electric pitch. We had specifically booked and paid for an electric pitch, expecting to have access to sockets for basic needs like charging devices and boiling water. However, upon arrival, we found there were no sockets provided, leaving us without the electric supply we had planned for. This was particularly inconvenient for a first-time camping trip where we had prepared based on that facility being available. P.S. Life is always about learning something new!.
Despite these issues, there were positives. The site is spacious and clean, and it's an excellent base for walking or cycling. Children have lots of room for outdoor play, and there's a sense of tranquillity if you're looking to escape busy city life. The nearby pub, The Wheel, has reopened with a lovely refurbishment and serves great food.
Overall, Dunn Street Farm offers a scenic countryside camping experience, but clearer communication about rules (especially relating to animals) and the exact nature of electric pitches would greatly improve the visitor experience. For families planning their first camping trip, I'd recommend checking the facilities list thoroughly and being prepared for a more basic setup than the term "electric pitch" might suggest.

Suitable for 1st night UK after the ferry to Dover. Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Jul 2025 Nice for resting after crossing from Calais to Dover.
We ended up setting our camp for the night on the wrong field because the signs were a bit unclear.
Peaceful Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Jun 2025 Beautiful, peaceful campsite with lots of walks nearby. Friendly owners.
Felt safe and secure.
Peaceful and cheap Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Strawberry Field Pitches May 2025 No frills campsite, if you just want to sit and relax this is the place for you. Will probably be back soon.
Very peaceful site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Apr 2025 Really peaceful and beautiful site.
We had 2 nights booked but were only able to stay one night (nothing to do with the site). Wasn't sure where to pitch and we arrived late Friday, so we didn't see anyone but very easy to find your way around the site.
Field was level and pitches are large. Facilities were well stocked with paper etc, shower was hot.
Brilliant Recommends site
Medium Tent - Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Apr 2025 Brilliant, quiet location, good clean toilets and facilities on site. Ideal for walkers, onsite bushcraft and skill courses worth a look at.
Lovely, clean back to basics site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Aug 2024 Perfect to unwind. No one bothers you...lovely and peaceful. Toilet and kitchen facilities spotless. A little gem, will visit again.

Lovely campsite Recommends site
Large Tent - Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Aug 2024 Lovely campsite with nice views. Facilities were basic, but clean most of the time. Only downside is only one shower in the women's, and one in the men's. Really good location, will definitely stay again. Would have been nice to see someone who worked there as I didn't see anyone throughout the whole 3 nights.
Site's response
Hi Emily, there are 2 additional showers available in the washroom nest to the ladies loos. I saw and spoke with most of our guests at some point over the weekend, I'm sorry I didn't manage to speak to you.
Please understand that the August Bank Holiday is the busiest weekend of the year for us and I was also trying to spend time with my family too.
Wonderful location and easy access Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Jul 2024 This site is a wonderful base for walks along the North Downs. Lots of space and facilities although basic more than adequate.
Very peaceful Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Strawberry Field Pitches May 2024 Very peaceful site. Basic facilities but had a rustic charm which is what you would expect from a working farm. We would definitely stay again.
Excellent stay... Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Sep 2023 Very nice location and very friendly and helpful owners. Highly recommended.
Peaceful Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Sep 2023 Location is set in absolutely outstanding countryside, ideal for backpacking, walking, and cycling.
However, we needed a one night stop as a long journey break from the continent, not far from Eurotunnel and complete tranquillity for a good sleep, hot shower and move on...which this site served brilliantly.
Facilities are basic and clean. However no obvious reception or way of communicating with the site other than email...we pitched, slept, washed and left...
Great location and lovely stay Recommends site
Small Tent - Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Sep 2023 We had a lovely stay at Dunn Farm. It's in a beautiful part of Kent with lots of amazing countryside and villages to visit.
Strawberry field is a great big field with lots of space between pitches. I woke up with the sun shining, the dog and BF next to me and the horses whinnying in the next field. Couldn't ask for more.
Ideal campsite with lots of space Recommends site
Large Tent - Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Sep 2023 Had a wonderful couple of days. Literally only 20 mins from our home, but this was our last camp of the season and first time here.
Relaxing, peaceful and spacious pitches. Exactly what we were after. Appreciate it was much quieter than a bank holiday and believe this often gets much busier.
For those travelling back to the continent, I think it's an ideal stopover within reach of the M20.
Loved the fact we were on a working farm and guests should appreciate it for what it is.
We used electric hook-up, toilets and showers were nice enough, definitely no complaints.
Basic campsite on the North Downs Way Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Aug 2023 On of the few campsites actually on the North Downs Way.
Basic site, but you don't need more when backpacking.
Good value for money.
Camping Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Brocks' Paddock Pitches Jul 2023 Lovely spot for our first night camping. Kids loved the space to run and explore and visit the animals.
Lovely country location Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Jul 2023 Great 2 night stay in this quiet location.
Lovely short stay Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Brocks' Paddock Pitches May 2023 very good and pleasant stay at a lovely camp site, well located centrally in Kent.
Rambling to the loo Large Tent - Non Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Apr 2023 If you like long walks in the beautiful North Downs, this is the perfect campsite. That said, the long walk to the toilet and shower was less fun.
Pleasant camping field with basic water point at either end, surrounded by fields of sheep, horses and hedgerows full of birds. Road noise from the main road was surprisingly loud but not to the point that you couldn't block it out. Firewood was waiting for us as arranged (once us townies had worked out what an 'apple bin' actually was!)
To my knowledge, we never saw the owner once and had you needed any assistance or had an emergency, I'm not sure what the drill was to be honest.
Great location but we prefer somewhere a bit more friendly. An initial welcome would have been nice, even if only on a laminate stuck to the gate.
Site's response
Sorry I didn't get to meet you Sarah, I was away visiting friends during your stay. Contact details for urgent issues are usually provided with the confirmation emails that are sent out. Other than that, our approach to running the campsite is a light touch, we try not to overload our guests with instructions and signs etc and instead rely on our visitors studying the information on our website and the welcome emails. Our regular visitors come back time after time - there is definitely nothing unfriendly about us or our campsite!
Gordon.
Wonderful Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Strawberry Field Pitches Apr 2023 A wonderful campsite, really helpful people around and a very quiet rural location. We even met the farms Spring lambs! Showers and toilets were clean and well-maintained. Worth noting that one of the routes to the location is down a very narrow, windy road which was a bit small for our large van. We made sure to come via Westwell for a better drive. Would 100% recommend and stay again.
