It was a great introduction to camping especially with a little one- big open space to run around safely.

I was there for National Cycling Championships and it was perfect.
Nice basic site but no monitoring of rules Jun 2025 This is a good site if you want back to basics camping.
Having no roof on the shower is amazing for watching red kites while scrubbing your undercarriage, but it doesn't give any shelter for your clothes when it's raining. The camping kitchen provided is really useful, but there was no means of lighting the gas that was provided and no hot water at the kitchen. These are very minor gripes in the context of the site itself.
However, we ended up leaving the site a night earlier than expected because of the noise levels - there was a party going on somewhere nearby (not on the site itself), with very loud music and shouting until the early hours. Again, this is something that maybe out of the site's control, so should be overlooked. However, our fellow campers also stayed up well into the early hours talking loudly and playing music around the campfire - there's campsite rules about noise levels at night, but no one appeared to be making an effort to enforce the rules.
Overall good, remote, peaceful site
VW-Type Campervan - Meadow Camping - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 We understood no bins were on the location, but ourselves and many others did comment that a bin of some description should be provided whether wheelie or commercial, as it dosent take long for seagulls and magpies to patrol the field.
It's ok taking rubbish to place in outer bins when going off for the day, but when you're on holiday and hitting the beach, it's not ideal to carry bags each day and locating a bin on your travels. Taking home rubbish as suggested isn't ideal when you're on holiday.
When we enquired to the owner just to make sure there wasn't a bin, we got a reply to take it home, is that a problem?
Maybe not a big thing to some but on a holiday for a few days, cooking etc, it dosent take long to build up waste, but specially with children.
Other than that the provision of heavy duty stoves in the kitchen area was a godsend at times.
Toilets generally clean, was expecting portaloos, to find they were static was even better.
We do many campsites, so have been to less provisions and better.
Overall good campsite, quiet! Generous sized pitches, ideally waste provisions would be more hygienic.
Would consider again.
Convenient to Aberystwyth
VW-Type Campervan - Meadow Camping - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2024 Convenient to Aberystwyth about 1.5 miles. Quiet grass pitch, firm after rain. Showers and loos clean.
Can get to Aberystwyth by going down Clarach Bay and walking over hill. Signage to site could be larger, but we found it!

My first time camping with my five kids aged 17,13,11,7&3 and I will be back again.
Lots of space for the kids and dogs to roam around.
Owners even offered to tow us off the field after a night of bad rain!!

Lovely stay
Small Tent - Meadow Camping - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2023 Myself & my partner are just back from a lovely stay. The campsite was quirky and really well maintained, we really liked that you could drive the cars in/park beside your tent so no numerous trips to and from the car to get bits. The showers were amazing, so warm and proper showers too. This is not a criticism but more of a recommendation (as I had blisters on my feet from sandals), the shower area has small rocks so make sure to wear flip-flops as I was hobbling around!
All-in-all a lovely campsite and I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Bell Tent - Unfurnished Bell Tents May 2023 Idyllic location, a peaceful and relaxing stay.
Left to our devices which we really appreciated. Not too keen on the portaloos, but was fine for a 1-night stay.
Would recommend to others and would stay again, if visiting the area in the future.
