Amazing off-grid experience

As city dwellers, this was our first experience of glamping! Simply brilliant and we will return. Just plan for travel to shops and restaurants etc.

Magical glamping

Magical glamping retreat just off the A64 near Malton. We stayed in the owl pod. A tubular hut with an entrance and a raised king sized bed. Very clean, very comfortable and nice and warm. Just right for two people. The wood fired hot tub was clean and easy to use, although my fire making skills need some honing. The seating area was nice, although maybe bring a camping chair or a cushion, as the big bobbins they give you to sit on are a bit rustic and lacking in back support. Big parasol, table and a BBQ/fire pit to use. The kitchen area was useful with a 2 burner gas stove (had some issues with ours settling fire to the gas pipe but it was soon sorted by staff once reported) no warm running water unless you get the wood fired boiler up and running then after half an hour, you will have nice hot shower and hot running water in the kitchen/bathroom tap. There's lots of instructions on how to work everything and a YouTube video accessible via QR code. Lahtle Grub is on site making beautiful pizzas. Wood and charcoal, marshmallows, ice/ice blocks are provided with extras at a cost on the honesty board, they've really thought of everything. Amazing place for families and couples alike. Dog friendly too. Only con is the A64 is close so a bit of road noise. And also the pods and fields are quite close to each other so sound carries.

Husband's birthday present

I booked this weekend break for my hubby's birthday as a surprise. His initial reaction was furious, he thought he was going to Whitby, his favourite place. After an hour his miserable face turned into delight. Dog friendly, beautiful, woodpecker grey pod with sunshine, a pizza from the onsite hut, a fire pit burning, and beers what more can you want? We will definitely be returning, he loved it.

Owl pod

We had a great little weekend, we loved how it was off the grid. The log fired hot tub and shower are easy to use and really takes you away from the fast paced life we're all used to. The pods are set privately in a corner with trees over-hanging. You have a BBQ stove and plenty of wood to keep you going for your stay. Only thing I recommend is taking a couple of cushions for the seats as we both tore our shorts on them, but as it's off the grid and in the woods, you wouldn't be wearing expensive gear anyway. We'll definitely be back in the future and will be recommending this place to our friends and family!

Fantastic, I'm sorry to hear you both tore your shorts, apologies. We do check the reels regularly with a hammer, good idea to bring an old towel or cushion for more comfort. Sarah.
