Clear filters Peace and tranquility
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2025 Lovely site, very clean and very peaceful.
The site is just off the A66, but you wouldn't know it.
Showers are brilliant no push button showers, thermostatic and lovely and warm.
Would have been useful to know what time to checkout though.
Good little site in a great location
Camping Pod - Camping Pods Aug 2025 We stayed in one of the camping pods, it's a squeeze with 4 people, but doable when you don't want to use a tent. The site is in a good spot between Keswick and Penrith, it's small and fairly basic, but everything was really clean and tidy. Staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely campsite!
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2025 Can't fault this campsite at all - getting there was a doddle, easy main roads the whole way for us. A little noisy next to the main road overnight, but it's to be expected and didn't bother me at all!
The facilities were exceptionally clean and the owners were really friendly and gave us a lovely welcome! Would stay again!

Toilets lovely and clean. Owners ever present for support. We loved it.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2025 We stayed here as a family of 3 with a 4 year old and a dog.
The location is very out the way, but is perfect for getting about the lakes. Right on the A66, within 15 min of Keswick, 20 min of Grasmere.
It's a family run business, the owners are great, very approachable and friendly. Now, the facilities - no complaints at all! Very clean, modern, and plentiful! There are 2 blocks next to each other, one visibly is more modern than the other but both equally as clean.
There's a small dog walk on site (maybe about 200/300 meters) and a small park for kids.
We actually enquired about siting our van here and can't wait to return!

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2025 A very well-kept site, and the bonus of a pub just a 10/15 mins walk away. Ideal for exploring the Lakes and toilet blocks very clean.
If you are a light sleeper then it is near to the busy A66, but it didn't bother us too much. The lady in the static caravan opposite pitch 5 could turn her TV down a big though 🤣

Peaceful apart from busy road. Didn't realise it was as near but soon got used to it.
But don't follow Sat Nav into Penruddock. Would go back.

Honest review Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2025 Could do with an upgrade of the facilities, only one shower in each block for the whole site, water pressure in the shower is poor. Although, the shower blocks were clean.
Laundry appliances also need updating, they had one very old washing machine that takes tokens and an out of service tumble dryer.
Children's play area was very old tired.

Short break in the lakes

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2025 Lovely little site just off the A66 between Penryth and Keswick.
Very well maintained, there were 2 motorhomes in our party and we asked for 2 pitches next to each other, which was great. Nice grass area between the hard standings. There is a bus stop 3 minutes walk from the site, that runs to Penryth and Keswick.
You can't really walk to anywhere from the site. You can hear a little road noise from the A66 but this did not bother us at all. Would highly recommend as a base to explore the Lakes from.

Peaceful location with friendly management
Camping Pod - Camping Pods Jul 2025 Nice site predominantly catering for motorhomes and caravans but also hosting campers, plus some camping pods. We stayed in one of the pods and these were really good with benefit of electric supply.
Pod would suit a couple but could host small family for a few days. Toilets and showers a little dated but in good order and clean. Site management friendly and available for help. Site is probably best accessed by vehicle but there is an hourly bus service along B5288 from the Motherby Road End or Sportsman Inn stops, with X4/X5 service between Keswick and Penrith.
The Herdwick Inn in Penruddock is an easy fifteen minute walk away too.

Bus stop 5 mins walk that takes you to Keswick or Penrith bus stations. 15 mins walk to pub that sells lovely food.

Beautiful, peaceful site with good facilities
Camping Pod - Camping Pods Jun 2025 Beckses is a lovely site, very peaceful but with plenty of staff around to answer queries etc.
The pod we stayed in was basic but clean, comfortable (surprisingly comfortable beds!) and had a kettle etc. A mini fridge would have been nice for storing milk but otherwise it was everything we needed as a base for exploring the northern Lakes. The toilet and shower block was also very clean, comfortable and the shower was powerful and hot - delightful. Our children enjoyed the play area and the site felt safe and welcoming.
Overall a really lovely weekend - we'll be back!
