Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesJul 2025

Campsite excellent. Loved the special little touches, heated bathrooms, soap and cleaning products, hot, hot water for washing up, the trolleys to move your gear to the pitch. The whole place was very well maintained. But, the road in was abysmal! Very deep potholes which made you fear for the bottom of your car, and no way to avoid them. It was such a very, special place but this problem alone would make me seriously consider whether I would return which is such a pity. If that could be sorted, I'd give it 6 stars!

Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent PitchesJul 2025

Great site. There was only one point that let it down. All the electric pitches flood when it rains as the pitches have not had time grow any grass to stop the rain from pooling. The electric pitches could be moved a few feet either way so as the tents could be pitched onto grass to prevent flooding.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesJul 2025

Very bad experience overall. Road to campsite is total disaster - huge holes, very bumpy, you have to drive at like 4mph max or your car will be destroyed. I damaged our front bumper because the bumps are too high! Near campsite, it's just mud everywhere. My car got stuck, couldn't get out, wheels just spinning. Final thing - I broke side mirror on some wires and scratched paint badly. Parking? Ha. There is sign: "Beware of flying golf balls", nice, yeah? Perfect place to leave your car and hope that nothing smashes it. Parking is small, super tight. No privacy at all. The area around the tent pitches is very cramped - no space between you and the next tent. People literally walk 1 meter from your door, you hear everything. It felt more like a busy car park than a relaxing campsite. Toilets were dirty, smell bad, not cleaned regularly. Showers were okay actually - 2 of them on site and always free when I went, so that was fine. Dishwashing station - that was actually nice, hot water and clean area. But be aware - seagulls are crazy here! They attack every bag of food and scream like crazy. All day, they fly above people and try steal food while you eat. Check-in only for 2 hours a day. After hours, no help, no answer, nobody seems to care. We're not coming back. Never. I wish I read reviews more carefully. This place maybe okay for people with campervans and zero expectations, but for normal families with car and a tent - very bad. Only reason for one star - showers and dishwashing area. Avoid this place, please.

Site's response

Hi Urszula, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback — we’re genuinely sorry to hear that your stay didn’t meet expectations. Firstly, regarding the access road: you’re absolutely right that it’s not in ideal condition at the moment. Unfortunately, while construction is ongoing at the nearby historic flax mill, heavy construction traffic has made it difficult to maintain the road surface, especially during recent bouts of severe weather. At the time of your visit, we were experiencing some of the heaviest rain on record in our area, with an official amber weather warning in place. That said, we do take this seriously, and we’re planning repairs to the road surface in the immediate future. As for the parking area, I want to clarify that the signs that read, “Caution - golf balls” means there is a risk beyond that point and they are placed specifically to prevent vehicle access past that point. We’re sorry to hear that your car got stuck — the recent extreme weather created muddy conditions that have been challenging, especially in more exposed areas of the site. We're working on drainage and ground improvements to help mitigate this in the future. Regarding the facilities: we actually have three showers on site, not two. These are within the same units as our campsite toilets, so we’re a bit confused how the showers were fine but the toilets smelled unpleasant — unless you were referring to the public toilet block near the flax mill, which is much older and only used if the main facilities are fully occupied. That block is being retired once the mill construction is complete. We appreciate your positive comments about the dishwashing area and showers — and yes, the seagulls can be cheeky! Unfortunately, being so close to the beach, they’re a part of the natural environment here and can be just as persistent at any coastal site. Regarding the check-in process, we do keep a short check-in window because we are a small family-run team. However, all guests receive detailed information via email and in our welcome guide, including instructions for staff-free or late check-ins. We do our best to make this as smooth as possible. I’m really sorry that your overall experience didn’t reflect the kind of stay we aim to offer, especially to tent campers. We always strive to improve, and your feedback will be taken into account as we continue developing the site — particularly as we move through this busy period of construction and unpredictable weather. Wishing you all the best in your future travels. Kind regards, Scott Silverburn Park Campsite

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Campervan PitchesJun 2025

This is our 3rd time this year staying at this wonderful place. In a fantastic spot with all the facilities you need. Right on the beach or lovely woodland walks if you prefer. Brilliant quirky cafe on site or you can walk to the garden centre shop for home grown fruit and veg. Try this site you won't be disappointed.

This is second time I've staid here. It's quiet, clean - only down side is the car parking area for tents. That road needs to be re-done, not suitable for cars with low suspension. The beach is stunning and clean.

So relaxing

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent PitchesJun 2025

We really enjoyed our stay at Silverburn lovely views over the golf course. Toilets and showers kept really clean and hairdryer also available. Lovely and quiet site.. Easy walk to the beach along path at beside course. Walled garden was kept beautiful. 1 mile walk to Leven. Beautiful beach at Leven Great site for visiting up the East Coast we went to Anstruther, Ellie, St Andrews, St Monans all great places to go for a day out. Scott was really nice giving us all the info we needed. We will definitely be returning. A big thank you to all the staff.

Will be great when the building works are done

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Campervan PitchesJun 2025

There was some disruption with the building works (we were warned) and getting to the showers was a bit roundabout. The location was ideal for a last night to get a quick run into Edinburgh and return the van. They do need to put a sign on the road leading past the amenities that there is no vehicle exit. We went down this way looking for the grey water disposal and thought we would just keep driving out but by the time we realised, we couldn't drive down the lane way, it involved some tricky reversing.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Campervan PitchesJun 2025

Silverburn camp park is in the most beautiful area next to a lovely beach, golf course and gorgeous walk from idyllic gardens through a pathway in a woodland taking us to a charming promenade in Leven. Current restoration work to the flax mill made the immediate area a bit of a construction site but didn't affect our stay really and understand it is temporary. I'm going to say I will definitely return only because I think this campsite and facilities associated will be absolutely top notch when all the building work is finished, maybe through next year.

Site's response

Thanks very much for your kind review :) We're so glad the construction works on the Flax Mill didn't disrupt your stay. We can't wait to welcome you back when all the work is complete!

Nice wee site & nice views. Lovely small cafe for coffee, scones & toastie. Booked an electric pitch for tent but hadn't realised it was a 3 round pin hook up but thankfully staff were very helpful & loaned us a lead. Would visit again.

Definitely for nature lovers

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Campervan PitchesMay 2025

Lovely, small site, with a beautiful walled garden and easy access to the beach. The welcome to the site by the host was very friendly and informative. Although there was building work going on in the flax mill, it did not intrude on our enjoyment of the site, we were well aware that the building work was happening. Would love to return when the building is finished.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Campervan PitchesMay 2025

We had a great time. Our only comment would be that the shower and toilet facilities are not immediately close to the parking hook-up bays. A toilet next to the motorhome area would make a huge difference at night. We were aware that building works are going on next to the site, but this did not interrupt our stay.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesApr 2025

Toilet and shower facilities inadequate. 2 showers for full campsite and with toilets inside they'd be busy for long periods. With the grounds between car and tents being muddy it's no wonder the toilet floors were always muddy. They should be kept clean and hygienic every hour. Very muddy tracks and pot holes on entry to campsite.

Site's response

Hi Julie, and thank you for your feedback. We're really sorry to hear that the facilities didn't meet your expectations during your stay. Our toilet and shower blocks are cleaned at least twice a day, and we do our best to check on them more frequently when we can - though as a small team, we sometimes have to prioritise depending on how busy the site is. We completely understand how frustrating muddy conditions can be - especially with the wet weather we've had and the ongoing work nearby. The good news is that once the flax mill renovations are complete, we'll be adding more toilet and shower facilities to better accommodate all our guests. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, as it helps us continue to improve the site. Kind regards, Silverburn Campsite Team.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Campervan PitchesApr 2025

Site is suffering the effects of the flax mill renovations, the toilets are a fair distance from the campervan pitches. Clean but basic facilities, I can't comment on customer service as it was closed on arrival and we didn't see anyone before we left.

Site's response

Hi Simon, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're sorry to hear the flax mill renovations impacted your stay - while it's not ideal just now, the work is progressing well and we're confident it won't affect the overall aesthetic of the campsite for long. In the meantime, we always encourage guests to explore the beautiful walled garden and take in the beach walks, which are a peaceful retreat away from the renovation area. We appreciate your feedback on the facilities too - we're currently working on adding toilets to the campervan section to make things more convenient for future guests. Thanks again for your visit, and we hope to welcome you back once the improvements are complete! Kind regards, Silverburn Campsite Team.

Excellent venue for a couple days camping. We had a fabulous stay apart from the weather. Only downside is the access road to the tent parking which is full of horrendous potholes.

We would thoroughly recommend this great site and hope to return again soon. The location is beautiful and perfect if you are interested in doing a bit of the Fife coastal path. We walked from the site to Elie in an afternoon and got the bus back. The grounds are lovely, and the café is great too - fab, freshly baked scones in the morning.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Campervan PitchesMar 2025

Great little site, easy walk into Leven, in the bus route for East Neuk. Beside garden centre with a café facility onsite. Easy walk to beautiful beach. Some construction on site during working hours but it wasn't too noisy at all and we were told beforehand. The facilities were clean and staff friendly, we would deffo return.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Campervan PitchesMar 2025

First time on this site and we were first greeted by a woman in the cafe who was very friendly and helpful, and called Scott, who came along. He showed us the layout of the site and was very informative and helpful. The pitch we got was excellent and had everything we needed. Pitched up, then went a lovely walk along the beach which is 5 minutes away. BBQ for our dinner then relaxed the rest of the night with a fire pit and a few drinks. Lovely walk around the gardens there in the morning, then another walk along the beach before heading home.] We had a really great time and we can't wait to go back.

Excellent stay for this time of year

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent PitchesMar 2025

Very friendly staff, Scott was fantastic from the moment we arrived. Elec hook up as described and close to facilities, good condition toilet/shower block. The drains on the shower were slightly blocked, causing a lot of water to fill the floor during use, but would use the site again. Good areas to walk and great for dogs too.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Campervan PitchesMar 2025

Be aware this is a building site and will be for at least the rest of 2025. Pleasant stay in our small campervan. Well greeted by friendly staff. Nice little café with lovely staff, great food/light meals and only outside seating. Close to the beach and dog friendly. If you're on a van pitch but you don't have a toilet, it's a few minute walk down a poorly lit, muddy path to get to the campsite toilets. Van pitches are very close to public car park, didn't feel as secure as most other sites I have stayed. Tent field is in a fenced off enclosed area. A public access track goes through the area, mainly dog walkers but also saw a helmet-less electric pit bike rider blast through. Toilet and shower rooms are quite new and very clean.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Campervan PitchesFeb 2025

Great small campsite. Toilets and showers worked perfectly. They are a bit basic but are clean and perfectly satisfactory. The toilet block was the only let down. Very small and very basic. Lovely window cafe with friendly staff. Scenery and walks are incredible. We will stay again. Little bit of noise and traffic from the build that is going on but nothing to worry about.

Site's response

Hi Gerald, I'm very glad you enjoyed your stay. I just wanted to make sure, you didn't confuse the public toilets (small, green toilet block with 2 doors) for our campsite toilet & shower block? This is the larger wooden building with 3 colourful doors and decking.

Nice place to stay

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Campervan PitchesFeb 2025

The campsite was a stones throw away from the beach, a short walk into Leven and a short van journey to Kirkcaldy. The shower rooms, although a short walk from where we were parked, were clean, warm and the actual water was hot. The surroundings were beautiful and the building works that were going on did not bother us as we were out most of the day and the the builders were minding their work. All in all, a good stay was had.

Beautiful place

Only stayed one night but could've stayed longer, but work calls unfortunately. Absolutely stunning views and beautiful walled garden. Got a swim in the sea just after we set up while dogs ran along the beach. Was a 2 minute walk from campsite. Will be back 🥰
