About the site

This is an idyllic, peaceful spot to unwind and immerse yourself in nature. The woodland is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, home to more than 2,500 species of flowers, fungi and wildlife. This ancient woodland is protected by law and studied during the year by both professionals and amateurs. The site offers spacious non electric grass tent pitches, with plenty of room for families and groups of friends to camp together. With acres of wild space to choose from, you can pitch your tent wherever feels right for you, whether that's beneath the shade of the trees or in the middle of the meadow. Outdoor kitchens are equipped with gas stoves for cooking, a fridge, pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, glasses, mugs and a kettle, giving you everything you need to enjoy relaxed outdoor dining. As the sun sets, gather around a fire pit under the stars, with both fire pits and logs available to purchase onsite. You'll be less than 30 minutes' drive from Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa and Warwick, making it easy for a day of sightseeing. You can also explore the picturesque villages of Bourton-on-the-Water or visit Jeremy Clarkson's famous Diddly Squat Farm Shop. Set on the edge of Warwickshire and bordering Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, this site couldn't be better placed for discovering some of the region's best-loved destinations. If you prefer to stay closer to camp, there are beautiful walks and cycle routes right on your doorstep, along with a range of organised group activities to book, including bushcraft, spoon whittling, treasure hunts and more. Raised fire pits and small BBQs are welcome, and if you don't have your own, both fire pits and logs are available to purchase onsite.

Wolford Wood is open all year round. Pitches from £44/night for 2 people.

Small Tent - Non Electric Wild Meadow Camping PitchesMay 2026

A campsite amongst wild flowers. The camping pitches are away from the car parking area. Pitches are nicely spaced out in a "meadow". A fridge and a kettle in the amenity block are nice touches. If you want to park you car next to your tent and have lots of amenities, this site is not for you.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Wild Meadow Camping PitchesMay 2026

Upon arrival, we were lavished with extensive information and insider knowledge of the surrounding area by the effervescent and hilarious owner. This was much appreciated as our plan (to explore the Cotswolds using this campsite as our base) was akin to an ancient smock, in as much as it was loose and full of holes. The site itself was very pleasant and we were fortunate enough to have our pick of spots when we arrived. The facilities were clean and tidy and in very good condition. Despite bad luck with the weather, we still managed to enjoy the use of a fire pit we hired. We slept very well.

Large Tent - Non Electric Wild Meadow Camping PitchesAug 2025

Very good overall and well thought out. Attention needed to showers and kitchen taps. Need a few additional electric sockets over the kitchen area.

Site's response

Thank you for your feedback - we're glad to hear you found the site well thought out overall. We really appreciate your comments about the showers, taps, and sockets; it's helpful to know where we can make improvements, and we'll take this on board as we continue to develop the facilities. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Kind regards, The Wolford Wood team
