Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

Stayed for three nights on an electric pitch. We were the first there for the weekend, so got to pick our spot. We went for the corner shielded by trees as there was a storm coming! Field is clean enough, but facilities are basic. It doesn't pretend to be anything else so no issues there. The single shower was warm and clean enough, as was the single loo. You can use the pub loos during opening hours which were much nicer. It is next door to a recycling plant which was very noisy after 7am but I'd read the reviews so no surprises there, just don't expect a lie in. There is no facility to wash dishes, other than the shower room, but there is a cold drinking water tap. As a base, location is good enough, close enough to local villages, couple of pubs etc. not much nearby, so do your research. The pub itself is nice, fairly basic but charming. Nice beers and the food was really really good. Lovely beer garden too. Staff were nice enough, no complaints. Nothing for children, such as a park. Just plenty of grass area for games. On the whole, you get what you pay for! Stunning part of the country, basic site but cheap! Don't expect more than it tells you and you'll be fine!

Okay for a stop over

Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Touring PitchesAug 2023

We didn't use facilities, apart from the pub. Camping field was level in places, would recommend the electric hook up pitches, but the field seems back onto a waste collection site, so lots of noise within metres. Road also noisy. Pub gardens were nice and food OK. We would use it again for a night en-route somewhere else.

Site's response

Thank you for your review. I do wish people that leave reviews read that we are next to an industrial site, not hiding anything. I can't do much about the road, apart from close them!

5* all round

Really nice place to stay. Not too busy and the people in the pub were amazing and welcoming. Cheers for the lovely drop of hook Norton IPA 👊

Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Touring PitchesJul 2023

Easy to find on a main road, but far enough from the road to be safe for children. Would definitely stay again.

Motorhome - Electric Grass PitchesJul 2023

Lovely, quiet site behind pretty pub garden despite being near busy road. Pub food (home made steak pie) was excellent. Good access, Hook Norton village is a 25 min walk away. Such a lovely area to explore & the site had everything we needed.
