About the site

The treehouse is in the grounds of Coates Castle, an attractive Gothic mansion and surrounded by ancient woodland and pretty gardens, not far from the town of Petworth. It's above ground, built into a tree and with stairs to carry you up. Inside, the space is comfortably furnished with a double bed and there are stunning views of the forest visible from its glass doors. The house includes electricity, comfy seating and an ensuite shower room with a glass roof that helps you feel like you are truly part of nature. A large balcony with swing seats completes the sense of escapism, up in the branches. Come and feel the magic of a tree house, just as special now as during your childhood games.

The site is open year round, weather permitting.

Things to do on site and in the Fittleworth area

Goodwood House is nearby and, apart from being a stunning property to explore and photograph, it hosts famous horse and motor racing events. The treehouse is an ideal place to stay while you enjoy some high speed races and retro celebrations at Goodwood Revival.

If you're an adventure seeker, you can go hot air ballooning, flying and gliding or relax with some fly fishing or massage and aromatherapy.

Walkers will love the pretty South Downs and there are plenty of grand homes and gardens to visit - like, Petworth House, Parham House and Arundel Castle. There are also a whole range of museums that open up life on the South Coast.

A few great places to try include:
