Wonderful

Brilliant location, excellent site, great bakery.

Amazing little place for the family

We absolutely loved our stay at Bircham Windmill. We have a very active toddler who loves animals and cakes, the smile on his face throughout our long weekend tells you everything you need to know. Perfectly placed to visit the north Norfolk coastline and surrounding quaint villages, a fairly priced campsite fee and we never had to queue to use a toilet or shower because of the low number of pitches (15). The setup was just brilliant, we enjoyed it so much that we have just booked it up again for another long weekend in 2 weeks. Thank you for making our family feel right at home and for the amazing memories.

Windy weekend

Second time we have stayed. Lovely clean site, great cafe and good facilities. The owners have thought of everything in providing small extras that you may have forgotten. Also a nice touch that there is use of a fridge and freezer. Ideally close to the coast.

Lovely, quaint camping

Really lovely camping at family-focused site with lots to do, especially with children. The windmill and baking own bread is a real bonus and the cafe has delicious food and there's a games room. The owners are friendly and obviously care that you have a good time, it's clean and well cared for, and a feel-good experience.

Lovely site, thought about all the small things campers need, like tea towels and bath mats.

Superb campsite

One of the best campsites I have stayed at. Interesting windmill to climb, fantastic bakery, lovely food in the cafe offering a great breakfast choice. Quirky, not too busy and very friendly.

Great place to stay, breakfast at the tea rooms was gorgeous. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect getaway

Beautiful location, peaceful with gorgeous views. Facilities were good. Café and bakery looked great, but we didn't really partake (vegan). Lovely walks nearby. Great for those with small children as there are animals and a little play area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will return, I'm sure.

Site's response

Many thanks for your lovely review. I'm sorry we don't cater for vegans through our own bakery, but in the tearooms, there are baskets along the front with a lovely range of bought in vegan cakes, flapjacks, olives and nuts. We also ensure that our soup is always vegan friendly too. We do hope to see you again soon.

Perfect!

Peaceful, quiet and a little out of the way, but worth it.

Challenging at times, but the weather did not help

Location was great for visiting north Norfolk, close to the beach and amenities. The field in which the caravan was sited, had overgrown grass and it was quite boggy. A thunderstorm took out the electric on site, we phoned the owners as their electric had come back on and asked if there was a separate trip for the caravan site, and we were told no. Not helpful in this situation. Electric was £8 per night! The showers were not cleaned. Coffee shop, plus staff were excellent.

First visit

We were not met on arrival and didn't see any site representative during our stay other than a lady in the bakery who told us one thing and a lady in the café who contradicted her. We bought bread off site. The site itself was ok though.

Beautiful site, friendly staff

We absolutely loved this place! I used to come here a lot as a child as lived locally. It hasn't changed and kept its charm. Staff were lovely, the young lad with glasses and a lady named Linda in the café were helpful and very smiley. Elly was contactable on mobile and very quick to respond and eager to help. Close to beaches and things to do. My step daughter loved the horse and donkey and she has requested a return trip. The shower rooms were really lovely and the showers were fab!

Great site for a peaceful Autumn break

We were hoping for a quiet site from which we could explore the nearby coastline and inland woods and heathland, with our dog. We were not disappointed. The night sky was so clear that the stars seemed almost dazzling! As we lay in our tent in the early morning, we could hear many different types of bird calls and out walking, we saw deer, hares and flocks of migrating geese in the fields nearby. At this time of year it does get cold at night, so we were very grateful for the hot showers. We took home a loaf of bread made from the flour milled on site - lovely bread!

Lovely location

Bircham Windmill is a lovely place to stay. I enjoyed watching the red kites each morning and evening.

This was simply brilliant

Could not have been better, this was an excellent one night stay. The location and hut were great. The staff were warm and friendly. We will come again.

Lovely little site

Lovely little site. Close to pub, nice walks nearby and easy to get to beaches etc by car

Superb site

We spent a lovely weekend at the site. We had travelled for the Spectacular at Snettisham RSPB site 15 mins away. Great washing facilities. The windmill is awesome and we got some great pics from the top and at night. The site has no shade at all which was tricky in the heatwave. Also need to bring strong mallet and decent pegs for the impacted ground due to heat.

A fantastic bespoke site, with amazing facilities; they have thought of everything. Great food, gorgeous bakery and even the option to make your own bread.

Loved Bircham Windmill site

Brilliant in every way. The children loved the windmill climb and baking their own bread. Great shower facilities, a games room, garden with lots of toys and animals too. Such a good location for train rides and many different beaches. We will be back!

Fabulous campsite

We had a great stay at Bircham Windmill. Clean spacious facilities. A games room with kettles and fridges. Beautiful area, peaceful and 20 mins from stunning beaches. Tea room and bakery are lovely too!
