VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Top Field) Aug 2025 Friendly helpful staff one of the best sites I have stayed on
Amazing views and location Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Top Field) Aug 2025 I stayed for a Sunday night in a VW camper van. The campsite is spread over a few fields at different levels. I stayed in the Event top field which was the highest point on the site. Surrounded by stone walls and green rolling hills. Lovely view from the pitch and quiet. The toilets etc are located by main reception a couple of minutes walk away. The facilities were very clean and well maintained. It shows the owners take pride in their site. There is a small shop in the check in building. Fire pits and wood can be purchased and many were used at nighttime. Across the road is an amazing country pub in local stone. It has a great selection or food and drinks. Could not fault the site and will be definitely back again soon.
Bank House Farm - Excellent Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2025 Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely recommend
Excellent location Recommends site
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Top Field) Aug 2025 Lovely family campsite in a stunning location.
The staff are friendly and welcoming and set high expectations. Conveniently located next to the Manifold track and a short drive from the Tissington trail, this site is perfect for walkers, runners and cyclists.
The site itself has a peaceful atmosphere and the food van that sells pizzas on a Saturday is fabulous. The facilities are clean and even though the site was busy it never felt too busy. The only slight downside is it is next to a road and traffic is next to the fields and is noisy. Despite that we will return.
Campervan weekend break Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches (No Awnings) Aug 2025 Excellent campsite with great walking in the area! Spectacular scenery and views! Around 1.5 miles to the lovely and bustling village of Hartington! Campsite was very busy but it was an August weekend! Family and dog friendly site with really good facilities which were kept very clean! Small well stocked shop! Friendly and helpful hosts and grounds were also very well maintained! Pizza truck on site while we were there which we took advantage of and the pizzas were excellent and reasonably priced! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Would stay again .. Recommends site

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Meadow Field) Aug 2025 Beautiful site and facilities. Very helpful and lovely owner Trish.
We stayed in the meadow field which is separate to the main site and it was so nice, right next to the river and very peaceful. There was plenty of room too but we did stay on a weekday.
The pub over the road is wonderful as well!
Fantastic site Recommends site

Caravan stay Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitch With Garden Aug 2025 A great campsite the location was good for touring around and sightseeing close to Buxton and Bakewell.
The only downside is the showers. 5/6 showers to 2 very large fields if late the showers are cold - lukewarm but it didn't ruin our stay.
Steve and Claire.

Many thanks for your review Steve,
Good to read you enjoyed your stay, sorry you experienced lukewarm showers, we have instant hot water boilers so should have been hot all the times, not normally a problem.
Kind Regards Wayne and the Team

The best weekend Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Meadow Field) Aug 2025 We stayed for 2 nights in the meadow field and loved it.
The facilities were so clean and the staff were lovely. My boys absolutely loved playing in the river - I could hardly get them out. The location is stunning and the noise curfew was a real plus - everyone was so respectful from 10pm and it added to the family feel.
Nothing bad to say and we will be back!

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Meadow Field) Aug 2025 Bank House Farm has a great range of facilities that make camping just that little bit easier, especially when you have young ones with you. The Meadow Field is a short walk from the main site but really not too far and the river running alongside was great for the kids. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Our stay Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2025 When we arrived, we received a warm welcome from the owner, who booked us in promptly.
The pitch was a hard standing one, which we did find a little difficult hammering the pegs in for our awning, but we managed. This was only our 2nd stay in our VW campervan but we didn't feel overwhelmed by this as everyone was so friendly. There is even specific area for exercising your dog/children too.
Everything had been thought of to make our stay an effortless one. The pub across the road serves great food and value for money. We were able to get immediately onto the Manifold Way, which took us all the way to Thor's Cave. This walk is not for the faint hearted, 5.5 miles each way, plus a good climb up to the cave.
Again, we were welcomed on our return by the owner of the site, who always seemed to be around.
We would highly recommend staying at this campsite and we will definitely be returning at some point in the future. Debbie, Andrew and Minnie the dog.

Beautiful campsite Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Meadow Field) Jul 2025 I would love my own campsite - always when we go camping I get inspiration.
Bank house campsite has everything - from the location, with a pub next door, to its own shop selling everything you need for camping. From wine to bread and eggs. that's just the basics. They really got everything you need.. the facilities are clean and tidy.
Overall a great experience.

Peaceful stay Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Meadow Field) Jul 2025 We stayed at Bank House Farm from Thursday through to Sunday, and overall had a really lovely experience. We camped in the Meadow, which is located over the bridge and slightly away from the main site. This turned out to be a great choice, it was peaceful and quiet, without the usual foot traffic of people heading to the showers or facilities.
The campsite itself is very well maintained and clean. Drinking water taps are conveniently placed around the site, and there are good shower, toilet, and pot-wash facilities. The on-site shop is surprisingly well stocked with all the essentials you might need, really handy if you forget anything or just need a top-up.
One of the highlights is the great pub literally across the road from the main campsite, and just a two-minute walk from the Meadow. The food and service were both excellent, perfect after a day of exploring.
It's a great spot for exploring the Peak District, and we'd happily stay again.
