Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 We had an absolutely wonderful time camping in our tent at Ashurst Campsite. We chose this site specifically as our base to visit Peppa Pig World, and the central location was absolutely perfect, making the journey so quick and easy.The campsite itself is fantastic for families. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The facilities were brilliant, including clean toilets, lovely hot showers, and highly convenient onsite washing up and laundry areas which made camp life with kids much easier.The absolute highlight for us was seeing the beautiful wild horses roaming around—it made pitching our tent in the forest feel truly magical. The pitches are very spacious, giving us plenty of room to spread out and relax. We highly recommend this site and will definitely be back!
Great location
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Great location to explore the New Forest. You can park where you like and we found a nice spot under a tree. All staff encountered were friendly and helpful.
Toilet, shower and washing up facilities were clean and practical. I would just say the shower water was very hot, almost scalding at times, which made it a little uncomfortable. Really useful to have a facility to charge your phone just need a padlock which they sell in the office.
Lovely to have ponies wandering around the site and lots of bird life.

Beautiful location and great facilities
Motorhome - Non Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2026 This site is large and has plenty of space to be with friends or find a quiet spot alone. You can walk straight into the forest or visit the local pub. We visited a NT at Mottisford, definitely worth a visit and went wild swimming at Compton Lock, small, but safe and fun. Ponies with foals wandered past and the birds came right up to us.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2026 Lovely spot in the New Forest, close to local villages and shops, also right next door to a pub! Runs along the train line so great if you're a train enthusiast, but maybe don't camp right next to it!
Facilities clean and tidy, site was lovely and quiet, we love being able to find our own spot to pitch up.
Preceful and so convenient

Really handy for the railway station, site was well maintained, toilets, showers and dish wash areas very clean.
Ground is a bit neven but as you chose your own pitch al it takes is a bit of time driving round to find the right place to set up camp.
Horses on site were a bonus
A little too crowded.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Often stay at a different site so tried this, nice to have a walk out with the village and pubs up the road with nice food, staff friendly on site and toilet block was constantly being cleaned, so will definitely be back again
Fabulous site in the New Forest
Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Stayed for 2 nights in our motorhome. Wish we could have stayed longer. The site is well kept and spacious. We could choose our own pitch and there was no lining up with everyone else. To see ponies and cattle from our window was a great experience. The toilet facilities were very clean and lots of them. The location was good with bus and train links within easy walking distance as well as 2 nice pubs/restaurants and local shops. The walks into the New Forest were lovely. One negative to some might be the sound of trains but it didn't bother us. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Was great to hear the birdsong and see the horses roaming free. Would stop again.

It's a great choice if you want a New Forest camping experience with plenty of wildlife and easy access to walks. Excellent facilities.
Fantastic for families
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Having purchased a new tent, we headed to Ashurst for the night to test it out.
The team onsite are friendly and approachable. We arrived and were given clear information about campsite expectations, which were upheld by all.
The central toilet / washing facilities are well maintained and clean. There is a good number of toilet cubicles and separate sink cubicles. Overall the site is incredible clean.
As a New Forest campsite it is great to feel surrounded by nature - from the ponies during the day to the owls at night.
Will be visiting again.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2025 Nice, clean site, ideal for walking to Lymington across the forest or catching the bus just outside on the main road. A couple of nice pubs in walking distance in Ashurst. There is quite a bit of uneven ground so pick where you pitch carefully.
Just a little annoyed at individuals volume level especially into the night, extremely inconsiderate of some folk but there's no accounting for ignorance!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 This campsite has everything you could need. Good clean toilets & showers. They even provide hairdryers.
There's a washing up room so you're not doing it outside, I think there's also a laundry room (I haven't used it yet.) Reception sell a lot of stuff you may have forgotten, including padlocks for the device charging lockers. You can also lock up your bike. The staff are friendly.
Ashurst shops & pubs are close by and there's loads of info in reception for local attractions within a short drive. Just make sure you zip up your tent well, because, besides some birds and the odd hedgehog, this campsite is a regular haunt of cows, naughty donkeys, and New Forest ponies.
