Great site for weekend break

Would be nice if you could go for a walk without having to go out onto the main road. Very busy site and does feel like you’re crammed in a bit. Need more showers and toilets for the number of pitches but I understand that they are building some.

Thank you for your feedback, we're pleased you enjoyed your stay. After crossing the road to reach the footpath, it continues through farmland and countryside all the way to Farley Mount Country Park and West Wood. Although our pitches are a good size, on peak weekends the site is very popular and can get busy. You might prefer visiting us during the week, or on quieter weekends, to enjoy the space and tranquility. We have several facility blocks open on busy weekends which are are closed for cleaning in rotation to ensure there are enough toilets and showers available for everyone. Our new ladies shower block is opening next week in time for the summer holidays. We look forward to welcoming you back soon to enjoy the improvements.

Lovely site

Lovely site, great location and easy access to Winchester city centre. Very high standards of cleanliness in facilities. Lovely touch that the wardens come round and chat to you and were so friendly. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic site

Beautiful site - lots of amazing, well kept fields with plenty of space around you. Great to have the separate play area and football pitch! Will be totally 5/5 when the new upgraded women's facilities are opened. Staff couldn't have been more friendly - definitely will be back!

Lovely camp site and facilities

Great stay, even though there was an initial problem with pitch being doubled booked, once we called the number provided, this was sorted within minutes with an apology (was told due to being bank holiday, different diaries). Once we set up that evening, we had a visit from the park wardens who were lovely and attentive. Also met the site manager, again introduced himself and asked if everything was okay. Really friendly campsite, good location and pitches are well presented and easy to find with maps included with electricity ports. Park on site which our kids lived in, along with the football field. Aldi and Waitrose was 6 minutes down the road. We didn't have a fridge, so we used the campsite fridge, no problem at all. Plenty of space, we just put our bits in a bag with pitch number on. Facilities were regularly cleaned throughout the day, never had to wait for a shower or toilet. Plenty of washing up areas with hot water. The only one that didn't get hot was the ones outside the ladies toilets and showers in main block, but plenty of others to use. New works being completed with no interrupted noise. Plenty of bins with regulars waste, recycling and glass. Also, chemical waste area was sign posted, along with a hose to help clean!. We also visited the Winchester science museum which was 20 minutes down the road and we also visited city centre, which was 10 minutes away. Again, lovely site, we will definitely return.

Lovely

The only thing is it's not really near any public transport but agreeably, a 20 minute walk to the bus stop isn't too awful. I'm a local anyway and literally have no intention of going anywhere once I'm pitched up for a couple of nights. Would love it to be all year round, then I would be there more regularly throughout the winter months too.

Thank you for your lovely review. There is actually a bus stop at Folly Farm so no need to walk 20 mins to the village. Unfortunately the bus stop sign has disappeared and we're waiting for the council to erect a new one. Details of the Folly Farm bus stop and bus times are available on the campsite noticeboard. Nice campsite

Nice campsite close to Winchester. Very level pitches. Adequate shower and toilet block. New ones were also under construction at the time of our stay. Friendly and helpful owners. We stayed one night midweek and the site was very peaceful.

Amazing!

This campsite was absolutely lovely and exceeded my expectations. I booked this as a gift for my boyfriend's birthday and we had the best time. The facilities were nice and clean, and there are many things to do near the campsite (we went to Eastleigh shopping centre, Winchester shopping centre and Marwell Zoo) - all around 15-30 minute drives. The campsites notice board also suggests routes for some woodland walks which we did, and was absolutely lovely and helped us kill some time! There was also a small park for children which I thought was a nice touch. The owners of the campsite were also lovely and we really appreciated them introducing themselves to us and asking if we needed anything. Overall, the experience was lovely and the campsite itself - I have no complaints, me and my boyfriend will 100% return soon! Thank you so much :)

Pleasant stay

A fantastic stay, it was very comfortable and the grounds were very well maintained. The staff were pleasant and I would stay there again.

Just what we needed!

Lovely campsite for all the family and partners too! We stayed for one night, they have lots of toilets and showers! They have washing up facilities if you want to bring pots and pans (but bring soap) showers clean as can be and toilets have toilet roll stocked. There's big bins, drinking water, play area for kids and even football/badminton fields. There's a bollard entry system, so you can get in and out easily and securely. We spontaneously booked last minute and didn't have a kettle to bring with us or any similar thing, so when I had flask full of water, I was upset to realise it didn't hold the temperature so I couldn't make me and my partner a cup of tea before bed. I emailed David, the owner, at 8pm and bless him, he came over to help with my query about boiling water. He actually helped us by boiling some for us and filling up my flask again! Just a little look into the hospitality and friendliness. He's easy to contact if anything goes wrong and if you'd rather be left alone, you definitely don't get pestered! The only con we had and it was simply unfortunate was that we could hear our neighbours very clearly and unfortunately, we had chatty neighbours next door who were laughing and talking until gone 3am, kept us awake for a good amount of time! But we still had a good night's sleep in the end! Just a case of luck of the draw! The campsite promote a 11pm quiet policy which is a good time to wind down and fire pits are bought when you book your pitch or after if you wish. You will need firefighters or a lighter in general however, but we got ours from down the road when we went to collect Dominos pizzas for dinner! Pitch is big enough for car and tent comfortably! And you get tons of arrival info to help before you go! Thanks for a lovely night away and the cuppa! :)

So windy when the wind is coming! Quiet place.

Lovely quiet site

Our girls loved the games field and the playground. Lovely quiet site. Well run, but only one toilet and shower block seemed open. We booked 1 night in our hired campervan and it was great. Very chilled, full of like minded campers. Very friendly and yet still respectful of privacy. Slight noise from the roads, which didn't bother us. Would book again.

Great stay with a group of friends

The site felt immediately safe with an automatic bollard that keeps anyone not registered to be on site off it. The site itself is very clean, quiet and had the space to offer room for us to play games. If you don't have a car, or a desire to wake up early, the site isn't close to any walking routes, though at 6 am we had decided to walk into Crawley along the road as it was quiet enough. The facilities are cleaned thoroughly and the toilets and showers are of a high standard.

Very clean!!!

Very nice campsite. The entrance has number plate recognition cameras so you don’t actually meet the owners/ managers, but it makes it very quick to come and go. Pretty flat and tidy camping areas. The toilets are so clean !!! - obviously get checked multiple times a day. Hot and strong showers. Best campsite we’ve stayed at.

Great campsite, would definitely go back again

We spent 4 nights over the weekend at this site. Very friendly management, great size pitches. A play field with football goals and badminton net, and a park which kept the children entertained. The ANPR entry system was great and made entering and exiting the site very easy. The first few nights, the larger facilities block was open and this felt like there were adequate toilets, sinks and showers. For the last night, the smaller block was open and we went back a few times, but the showers were always in use but quite a lot of people had left the site, so presumably the smaller block is used when there are less people on site. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely stay again.

Very calm and relaxing

Everything was perfect, and exactly what I needed for cycling around and stopping off for a night, thank you for a very calming atmosphere!

Lovely campsite

Lovely, clean campsite and great play area for kids. Only negative was the noise late at night as our pitch was directly behind a large group, which turned up late and disturbed us well into the night. Other than that, a great base for local amenities.

Quiet site between Winchester and Stockbridge

Arrived safely and with the information in the email, we were able to locate our pitch without any problem. Beautiful grass and well kept. Lovely quiet site with stuff to do, keeping the kids busy. We will return! One thing: Showers are a work in progress. It would be really helpful to have a hook closer to the door to hang the towel - dry yourself before exiting.

Nice park, well kept and peaceful

Nice park, lovely and clean and well kept. New toilet/shower facilities are being built - showers were not as clean as I would like. Insufficient hot water for washing up. I'm sure when the new facilities are all up and running, it will be a 5* rating.

Lovely campsite

First time visiting this campsite, we will definitely be back. They are in process of upgrading some of the facilities but always enough facilities available and level of cleanliness was really good.

Only 1 men's shower on first night, 4 were out of order

The facilities are being refurbished but, at present, there are not enough to accommodate the amount of campers. Bins, waste etc all a trek.

Fantastic campsite in a lovely area

Lovely peaceful campsite… just need better WiFi then I would go more often and work from my caravan!

Perfect little stay

Lovely campsite and very well maintained. Spacious pitches (9X9), with ample space between neighbouring pitches. Clean showers and toilets. Spacious areas for kids to play in and a specific area for dogs to be off lead. Fire pits and logs can be provided for a fee. Lots of water taps around. Owners are fabulous, always walking about checking in on people. Lovely walks nearby too and shops and cafes a few miles down the road. Thank you for a welcoming stay.
