A beautiful treasure found. Recommends site
Medium Tent - Medium Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 A beautiful campsite nestled in a beautiful part of the Peak District.
The staff, amenities, pub etc are wonderful.
A glorious place that I will revisit again and again 🤩
Fabulous amenities Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2026 This is a great site, with lots of on site extras, such as a bar, café and nail bar.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. The village of Hope is a short walk away, with a few pubs and restaurants.
We also walked to Castleton which is also very nice. There is a bus stop outside of the site which can take you further afield.
The one downside was our pitch was right next to the road, so we could hear everyone's conversations as they walked past and the constant traffic noise was annoying and disrupted sleep
If we came again we would request a different plot.
Lovely site. Recommends site
Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2026 Lovely place to visit. The team were really helpful. The showers & toilets were nice and clean. Good space to wash up.
The bar and food area was also a nice place to sit, enjoyed drinks & pizza and a morning breakfast bun.
Site was well kept. Being a short walk into Hope it was nice not to need to drive everywhere if you did not want too.
Fantastic Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Medium Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Received welcome email and entered the site without issue.
I wasn't sure whether to park up on the left but once through the barrier, drive up to the wardens cabin. The warden was really helpful, gave me a map of the site, pointed out the toilet/shower block wash up area and some of the other fab facilities. He then guided me to my pitch.
The site is very well maintained. There are a lot of what appear to be resident caravans on site. Motorhomes campervans and tents have other designated areas. New toilet block was really nice. Each cubicle had a shower, toilet and a sink. I didn't have to wait for any of the facilities during my stay.
Fish and chip van was popular on Saturday night and there was a bar and a café.
The site was so relaxing and the location is perfect. A short stroll to Hope village with lovely pubs and a late Spar, or you can walk or catch the open top bus to Castleton which stops right at the site exit.
Surrounded by beautiful scenery and the weather put the cherry on top.
Didn't want to leave but I'll definitely be back ❤️
Short Break Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2026 Excellent site, good location
Super campsite Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2026 We had a very friendly welcome and were shown to our pitch.
It's a beautiful setting and there is a handy enclosed dog field close by. The facilities are fabulous and the staff are incredibly friendly. It is a 5 min walk into Hope, which has several pubs, cafes, a Spar shop and Indian takeaway.
It was very quiet at night with a 10:30pm noise curfew. We would definitely return.
Stunning campsite Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2026 This is an excellent campsite! The facilities are spotless and it's the only campsite I've ever stayed at where you control the shower, no silly little button to keep pressing to turn on lukewarm water, you can actually have it hot.
In addition, the bar and café that are on site and open of a weekend are both really good value and spotlessly clean.
We walked into Hope village in 5 minutes. Castleton in 30 minutes and we got a train at Hope station, again a 5 minute walk. It really is a perfect spot to pitch up and explore the wonderful Peak District.
Perfect Campsite! Recommends site
Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2026 Excellent campsite, fully serviced pitches. Very well maintained and very clean facilities with everything you need including a shop and bike hire. All staff were pleasant and professional.
It was ok Medium Tent - Large Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only) Jun 2026 Stayed for 4 nights on a arrival thy guy that met us at the gate was friendly and showed us to our pitch the pitch was big enough but very close to others, the shower block was clean and plenty showers and toilets available. The thing we did not like was so close to main road you can hear vehicles all day and a lot of trucks during the night which gave us a disturbed sleep..
Excellent site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2026 Excellent site, 5 minute walk to the village with a few pubs and resturaunts for food.
Close to train station and bus stops for venturing out.
The site had great facilities, new showers and toilets, a shop, then there was also an on site cafe and bar that opened at times.
Large site, but everybody was super friendly, and it remained very quiet the 2 nights we stayed.
Must try it yourself! Recommends site
Medium Tent - Medium Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2026 On my trip around the Peak District, I pre-booked 2 stays in areas I wanted to visit, 3rd stay was made while on the trip. I came across Laneside & booked it as wanted to revisit Mam Tor. Well, I was really pleased I booked Laneside... what a place!
I was met by a lovely lady who had informed me my van was too big. A man came over & said pitch areas are 5m x 5m, however, they still let me stay. They were so friendly & polite & told me straight about the mistake I had made but they made a big effort to accommodate me.
I had a grass non electric pitch & everyone around was very friendly, I really enjoyed my stay & thank you for making a mitigation on my error.
Great caravan, camping site Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2026 Excellent site , great facilities, well stocked shop, breakfast hut for takeaways, bar of an evening Friday and Saturday, Excellent pitches for Caravans, motor homes, and camping. Great location for all the main hiking walks and visitor attractions in the peak district, also a peaceful location day and night
Fantastic facilities, helpful staff, nice area Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2026 Fantastic facilities, helpful staff, nice area - all marred by road noise
We live in a very rural area where it is very quiet. This site is rural and noisy with lorries travelling to and from quarries and a cement works. Neither industry impacted us - just the lorries. Pitches on rows D&E are best avoided. They are very close to the road. We ended up on row J and that was much better. Thank you.
The facilities are stunning with the new toilet/shower block, the best I have experienced anywhere. The older ones are pretty good. The men's showers could do with better signage. The site is well laid out with generous sized pitches. The seasonal pitches on row F can make manoeuvring onto row E harder than it need be - hitches protrude. But, it is manageable. There is ample hot water for washing up. Elsan points are well laid out and easy to use.
Th/Fr/Sa/Su sees an onsite cafe in operation. There is also a bar which was not open when we were present and no times were easy to view.
There are bus stops outside. These are not marked on the site map (the stops are known as end of Aston Lane, which is confusing). Buses go to Sheffield and Bakewell with the former travelling through Hathersage for a connection to Eyam and Bakewell a different way. It is also possible to travel to Buxton by bus. The service is an excellent way to enjoy the scenery. The Peak Explorer open top bus route also runs past the site and is good value for money.
Everything is 5 star - apart from the traffic noise. Were this site anywhere else we would be back. The owners cannot control the traffic and I doubt that the council will invest in a low noise road surface which could be done.
Perfect stay Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Large Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only) Jun 2026 Perfect campsite 5 stars
Site and location were superb Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches (Adult Only) Jun 2026 We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Laneside. The location was superb and easy walking distance to Hope and Castleton. The main road was a little noisy especially early mornings. It was fairly busy but plenty of facilities for everyone.
Fantastic site Recommends site
Large Tent - Large Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only) Jun 2026 Stayed for 7 nights on the adults only pitch. Facilities are superb. Love the showers. The staff were great. Angus, one of the grounds people was great, we saw him in a local pub one evening and was chatting with him.
On site bar is open on a Friday and Saturday. Such a fabtastic addition. Be great if the site can open it more often, depending on their licencing permissions.
We also had some food from the Pitch 2 Plate cabin. We got breakfast on the final morning before packing up camp. 2 x veggie breakfasts. Superb !!
A lovely short walk into Hope too. We did a walk from the site too to Mam Tor, so great to not need the car much too.
Highly recommend the site.
Laneside Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2026 Great site lots of great walks directly from the site. Cycle hire is available too.
The only negative was the noise from the traffic. If you're going there, ask for a pitch away from the road.
My son and I Recommends site
Large Tent - Large Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only) Jun 2026 My son and I loved to location easy access to walks, we did Kinder Scout and caught the train from Hope station easy and direct, to Edale. Overall, great stay, thanks for looking after us
Only one very slight criticism, facilities were excellent clean & tidy but feel a couple more hand dryers would be helpful. Showers were hot and roomy, toilets again very clean.
Lovely site, noisy traffic Recommends site
Large Tent - Large Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2026 Very friendly and helpful upon arrival. Facilities were very clean, site was very clean. Fish and chips van on the Saturday was a great touch, to tired to cook so it was very welcome sight.
Downside was our electric location, on a slight decline and very close to the road, the traffic noise was constant and the road being a 50 speed limit made it worse. Obviously not the campsites fault, but definitely has an impact on trying to sleep.
The views were stunning, the walks amazing and Hope Valley and Castleton are short lovely walk away.
Very much enjoyed our stay.
A superb site, right in the heart of the Peak District Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Large Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only) Jun 2026 We stayed at Laneside as students over 30 years ago and boy, has it changed! So much investment has gone into the site.
The shower and toilet facilities are great - even at the busiest times, covered washing up areas, toilet waste facilities and a doggie wash which we used for our pooch whilst we were there.
Sadly, Laneside couldn't do anything about the awful weather but the site facilities certainly helped restore our faith on our inaugural campervan trip!
Short stay Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2026 We really enjoyed our stay at Laneside and were pleasantly surprised with the high quality and range of facilities and the friendliness of staff.
The location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area, with highlights such as Mam Tor a short distance away. The 'A' road alongside the campsite can be noisy at times, but this did not distract from our stay. We shall definitely use this site again.
Peaks Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches May 2026 Very nice place. Good facilities .Good location. Many different and pleasent routes.

Lovely site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches (Adult Only) May 2026 Lovely friendly site with great facilities
Immaculate, family and dog friendly Recommends site
Large Tent - Medium Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 An immaculate, family and dog friendly site in the beautiful Hope Valley, Peak District.
This is a lovely site, welcoming from the start, secure, quiet, very clean and well organised. The new shower block is well designed and the on site shop, laundry room, dog wash, takeaway and bar offers everything you need. Plenty of basins for washing up too and tons of hot water with cold water drinking taps within reach of the pitches.
There is a dedicated well maintained dog walking field and play field adjacent to the site, and there is a lovely little stream running alongside which adults and children love to splash about in (take crocs as there are lots of pebbles and stones to walk on!)
The 'no noise/fires after 10.30pm' rule means no antisocial behaviour or smoking fires keeping you and your family up at night.
The site is perfectly situated as a base for exploring the beautiful area and local attractions, with a bus stop for the open topped tour bus right outside the gates and bus stops for other services a short walk up the road. The nearby village has a Spar, post office and pubs and only takes about 5 mins to walk to.
Only downsides (and they are minimal) are that there was not a pitch big enough for our tent with the porch on (approx 8m) so I don't think they cater for large tents. We managed perfectly well without the porch but if you have a very large tent you might want to call and check with them first. The tent pitches are also quite close together as well which means you do feel on top of each other a little bit. The final thing was the site is beside a main road and railway line so if you are a light sleeper take earplugs (also helpful if the occupants of a nearby tent snore all night!)
